Breathtaking views at an affordable price

Probably the most beautiful place I've ever stayed - but not the most expensive, by any means. Directly on the ocean. You can sit on the lanai and feel the spray on your face. The house itself is quite beautiful. If you want a place to stay on the Big Island that you won't want to leave, even to go to dinner - this is it. And at a reasonable price. Couldn't be happier.

Relaxing Oceanside retreat.

Loved staying here! So wonderful to hear the ocean day and night. The view was wonderful. Sunrise each morning was a special treat. This place is a slice of heaven.

Very nice property

This is a very nice property overlooking a beautiful lava rock oceanside cliff. Sitting on the deck watching the waves crash was one of our favorite things! The awesome power of nature was just stunning! Nice neighborhood...did some walks and a run in the area. Very spacious master bedroom and bathroom on main floor. Nice bathroom and two bedrooms upstairs. Bonus half bath on the main floor. The property was pleasantly decorated and had all the basic amenities needed. One of the fans in one of the bedrooms was not working and we notified Vacasa. Didn't think they were going to bring us a new one, so we went ahead and bought a box fan at Walmart as there is no AC and the bedrooms needed air circulation and some kind of white noise. Hoping they reimburse us for that as we left the fan there. Otherwise, my only "concern" is the floors in the property and some areas of the house, particularly the kitchen, needed more cleaning...deep cleaning. There were a lot of different hairs around the whole house. I know...gross. But I believe it is probably hard to get all that up with the humid/sticky air and everything sticks to the floors and walls and such. Washer and dryer in the garage was a nice bonus!That being said, I would absolutely stay there again!! I would probably just do a quick cleaning "once over" when I arrived. Also, loved being on the Hilo side of the island. The Kona side was very touristy and busy. This was more low key and close to our areas of interest!

This house was a great place to stay! It was nice and clean and the view was amazing! It doesn't have AC so we had to open al the doors and windows to get a cool air flow.

Perfect spot east side of island

Beautiful spot, house is large, nicely furnished and decorated with a well stocked kitchen and other amenities. In a residential neighborhood, very friendly atmosphere and pleasant area to walk around. Pahoa is a quiet town, has a nice new grocery market and a few fun places to go out to eat or drink. We saw tons of whales go by from the lanai and enjoyed short day trips to Hilo and Volcano.

Beautiful home

The home was beautiful and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you will need during your stay. The neighborhood was full of wonderful people with helpful suggestions on things to see and places to eat. The view of the ocean was breathtaking, we saw a lot of whales and turtles. I would highly recommend this vacation home.

Love this home

It is a clean and spacious house right beside the ocean. We appreciate the gorgeous ocean view and the holiday cookies from the host. The instructions for check in and check out are clear. We rented a car at the airport and drove to Hawaii Volcanos National Park (one hour driving), Kua Bay (two hours), and Maura Kea (less than two hours).

Wonderful Property

We spent four days at the house. We enjoyed seeing the whales literally right in our backyard on two occasions. Sunrises were spectacular and we very much enjoyed venturing to both the Town of Hilo and Volcano National Park.

First time visit!

This property is choice in provisions and location. The lanai is on the ocean with waves and a full sky of stars above. Quite surroundings. We throughly enjoyed this lovely place!

Gorgeous Ocean Views

This house was perfect for our family of 6. Everything we needed for a few days near Pahoa. We especially enjoyed being so close to the ocean and falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves.

Perfect home away from home

This vacation rental was fantastic. It had everything we needed, plus some. The neighborhood was great and the views were spectacular. We truly enjoyed our stay and the property management company made the process easy. The home comes with many extras, like board games, ice chests, water bottles, beach chairs, beach towels, pack-in play, and more. It really was perfect for us. We look forward to staying at this home again!

Wow!!!!!

I have never stepped into a rental and been blown away. I had to check that I had the correct place, as it was so much nicer than the already beautiful pictures. Right on the water, you can actually feel the sea spray. The home is immaculate and very open. I couldn’t believe the quality for an affordable price.

Beautiful and Quiet Oceanfront Location

The location is beautiful and quiet. Being able to wake up to amazing sunrises over the water is definitely something we appreciated. The house has seating both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is beautiful and has plenty of pots/pans, flatware, dishes, etc. There is no AC but that is pretty common in Hawaii. While there are plenty of fans in the home to help keep the air moving, the upstairs did stay pretty warm. The only downside was that there were no cooking supplies or spices at all, not even salt/pepper or cooking oil. One of the main reasons to book a house instead of a hotel is our ability to cook our own food. While buying a container of cooking oil spray for a trip is somewhat reasonable, buying salt and pepper is a bit wasteful when you are vacation. One hiccup was that the previous guest had accidentally left the remote garage door opener in their rental car so we had to manually open/close the garage door every time we left the house during our stay. The other confusion was that any attempts to contact Vacasa through VRBO were ignored. We did not realize until later that Vacasa had its own method of communicating with their guests for any questions (they have their own phone number and support page).
