After booking two double rooms 2 weeks before my arrival and actually paying for the stay. Once I arrived at the hotel from that airport I found a notice saying hotel closed down. I didn't get my money back and I cannot even contact anyone at this hotel. They charged me 700 euros, 8 called they confirmed my stay, but never told me they are closing down. Ruined a holiday for us as there wasn't another hotel around so we were homlesss for a night
This old hotel is a 10 minute walk from the shopping district and is on a noisy main street where loud voices seem to argue every night. The room is simple, with a roomy bathroom but a very tight shower stall. The bad thing was when i decided to lie down on the bed, i started to cough. Being very sensitive to dust, i took off the top bedding and hoped that it was just some dust. When i woke up in the middle of the night, i espied a small black bug walking on the white bedsheet. I immediately brushed it off and killed it. On my next waking moment, i saw another bug walking on the floor but it escaped behind the ref before i could reach it. Disgusted, i went to the front desk in the morning and asked the girl on duty to please have housekeeping make an extra effort to clean the room. When i returned to the room at the end of the day, i promptly went to sleep, still suffering from jet lag. When i woke up, i started feeling itchy and had multiple red blotches on different parts of my body! I then saw a small black bug on the bedsheet which must have been feasting on me!!! I complained again at the front desk to let them know what happened and the girl had the gall to say that they had no control over mosquitos and the like!!! Those insect bites definitely occurred during my sleep and were in areas that touched the bed!!! If i develop any infection related to insect bites, i shall definitely blame the Hotel Plaza Padova. So, for your health and wellbeing, please stay away from this hotel!
The hotel is rated 4 stars, but I do not understand how it is possible. I had to change 3 times the room as I arrived because most of them smell like cigarette despite the fact that smoking is not allowed. Breakfast was of poor quality, if I knew that I would have had it in a regular bar. The staff is not friendly. The value for money is not good at all.
Located in the middle of nowhere, but car parking is free. So if you are driving around Italy, it is good. We use the shuttle bus fully, taking it in the morning into Padova and returning in the evening after a full day in Padova. Note: you must book your shuttle bus 24 hours in advance. I email the hotel in advance to book the shuttle bus, and it turned up on time at the train station (outside the station, turn right, near the news agent booth). We were upgraded to junior suite which is really nice. Must mention the house keeping, he/she did a good job keeping the room clean and tidy.
When I arrived at the hotel I was told there was no air conditioning. The hotel did say I could cancel and go to another hotel but I was okay about it because I could open the windows and get fresh air. After all it is a four star hotel – or so I thought. Having settled the bill in advance, which I thought a bit odd for a four star hotel, I tried to book a table for dinner only to be told there was no restaurant and no bar as the staff ‘were on their holidays.’ I was astounded at this. I had not been told this upon arrival nor was this communicated at the time of booking as I have seen the confirmation. I was told my room was a superior room due to the issues with the air con. If this room is superior I’d hate a standard room. The hairdryer was held together with medical stick tape, there was staining (or worse) in and around the shower, and the chair in the room had clearly seen better days as it was falling apart. The room safe would not work and there was no tea and coffee making facilities, so with no restaurant and no bar, I couldn’t have a drink! The toiletries were of a low standard and not four star. Rather than using a key card, I was given a key meaning the keycard slot for electricity was stuffed with folded card to operate the electrics! I did think things couldn’t get any worse but I then found the Wi-Fi didn’t work in my room and had to go to a public are to use the Wi-Fi. I reported this to the hotel reception who frankly could care less and didn’t hide this either. Breakfast wasn’t much better. The coffee was excellent. However bread had been pre-cut from the Italian equivalent to a French stick for toasting, which would be pointless to toast in my opinion. As there was no air conditioning the bread was very dry making it difficult to eat with the very limited cheese and ham on offer. The fruit was a fruit salad consisting mainly of apples. If this is a four star hotel, the faulty towers hotel must, by comparison, be the Ritz. I did give the hotel the opportunity to comment on my complaint but they only commented on the air conditioning saying I was aware of this when I arrived which, as stated, I was. My other complaints were ignored. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Sleeping in a tent would be more preferable. Please see the photos
This was the most bad hotel i have erer stayed in. A very bad experiebce, begining with the rooms and finishing with the staf. They had a problem with the air conditioning when they were 36 degrees outside. The restaurant wasn't opened...so we had breakfast in town. The photos show everything. The bigest problem was that we got a nasty alergy from antbites... :( . We changed out room in the last 2 days...but still bad. So, i don't recomend it even to my enemies. Stay out of this "4" star hotel.
We have made a reservation at this hotel and were scheduled to arrive at 3 am due to travel plans. The operator at hotels.com confirmed that it was ok to arrive at that time however the person in charge of the reception asked for us to pay for the room. The condition of the hotel was deplorable. Very poor maintenance, air conditioning not working properly in the room and the walls were scratched and dirty. Also, the staff from the reception are very rude and lack of customer service. Sorry will not come back.
No international tv, no air con, nothing that was advised they supplied was in our room. You do not get drink making facilities, how they got the star rating they have I will never know. On a plus the town is so beautiful and a must see to any one that comes to Venice.
We were generously hosted here by the University, and it was serviceable and well located for our work. But if we were holidaying we would definitely look for better. The Airconditioning didn't work (allegedly a recent breakdown but it seems often not to work) and wasn't fixed after four days. They required complaints to be emailed to an off site manager who never replied. Only after a couple of days did the provide fans. Our room overlooked a quiet courtyard and had opening windows, otherwise we would have moved. The public spaces are shabby and dirty and dingy; and the breakfast mediocre. the rooms themselves are spacious, and the bathroom OK.
In the general the Hotel is primitive, it s three stars hotel. So don't expect great things. Good staff...small bedroom and bathroom, hot inside and even the AC is hardly working with loud noises. very bed wifi and primitive gym. Hard to find parking around. The breakfast was fine enough, no much variety.
