A great stop for a drink after a boat trip on the river. Excellent outside seating area, looking over the river and a nice atmosphere inside. Friendly staff, a must when visiting Oxford if you enjoy river watching.

A great British pub, with a great atmosphere. We were made very welcome and the waiter was very friendly, he even remembered us when we came back later on the same day. The ales were also really nice and the visit to the pub made our visit to Oxford even better. Highly recommended!

Lovely spot by the river and Folly Bridge. Good pub food with good selection of Ales. Great buzz of conversation from people enjoying the atmosphere outside at tables overlooking activity on the river. Much traffic - early evening rowers passing - traditional and Venetian share the river with riverboats and tour craft. Walked here from Christchurch meadows along the river after tour of Christchurch College another wow. Great way to spend a summer evening.

The hotel terrace is just below bedrooms and had over 100"people sitting eating. Very noisey plus music constantly playing throughout the day. There is a main road within 20yds and constant noise from very busy traffic. There is no place for residents to sit other than the areas open to the public. This is not a 4* hotel has advertised in booking .com and I would suggest it is only a pub accommodation suitable for back packets Do not book this place if you want peace and quiet.

Ate here one night and it was such a treat. Situated as the suggests by the river it offers a great view of house boats, private river craft and public water based tour jumping off point. There is plenty of seating outside as well as inside. It offers a good selection of draft and bottle beers as well as the normal spirits. They have a nice menu and we selected a shepherds pie and crispy fish and chips. There is something rare about being able to be warm in the evening and enjoy a British summer sitting outside. It was a lovely night, good food, lots of people enjoying each other’s company, it was one for the memory for a long time to come. Enjoy.....

Family reunion to celebrate my grandmother 80th and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome and loved the casual service went eating outside. I shall recommend the Sea Bass really delicious and the bartender knowledge about the beer was amazing. All and all a lovely place to be.

Exceedingly disappointed turned up with friends. Finally got a table ordered food and had a bottle of wine. Then told we had to leave as a party was coming in only place available to sit outside with the smokers! Not acceptable. The member of staff was rude and not prepared to help in anyway. Walked to Mal Maison and were made very welcome. Good and staff fantastic.

We arrived, a group of 4 on a night out. Two male staff were just stood in the reception area on their phones. They looked up and saw us, then looked back down on their phones. We asked a passing staff member if we could have a table, he said of course, sit anywhere and order at the bar. No table service at these prices. Not good at all. Only one side of the bar was open even though there were two members of staff standing behind it, doing nothing. We had to queue the other side where only one employee was working. We found a table, bought a bottle of wine, then got told to move as a large party was coming in. The staff member who spoke to us was really rude and extremely unhelpful when we asked where we could sit. We were just told sit anywhere, probably best outside (in the cold with the smokers, no thanks!). I said we could go elsewhere so he refunded the wine as we had t even opened it. And that was that. No goodbye, no apology, no have a nice evening. Now sitting in Malmaison it’s FANTASTIC here, as good as it’s always been. Can’t recommend it enough, worth the extra 7 minute walk people.

A great place to sit outside and have a drink or grab a bite to eat (the fish and chips were great). We tended to gravitate here over the course of the weekend we were visiting as it is well situated. There are a great range of beers and they serve Sipsmiths gin which is a personal favourite. Can get very busy in the summer but there are plenty of places to sit outside, so be patient and you will get a table.

A good place to go after a walk by the river or around Christ Church and its meadow. Pub is a former warehouse which now has B & B rooms upstairs and in the adjacent building. There is still a large crane by the river to remind you of its mercantile days. Can get really busy and thus difficult to get a seat although there is limited bench seating as well as the tables, handy for those just having a drink. Limited wine selection although there are a number of guest and craft ales in addition to the Fullers range, including the very welcome, flavoursome Cwtch from Cardiff's Tiny Rebel brewery.
