I have stayed at this property many times throughout the years. It is comfortable and very conveniently located. The negatives: It is dated and could definitely use a refresh, the towels are thin and scratchy and you are not given many, the heat/AC is very noisy, and if there are people in the room above - you will hear them.

Price/night during summer was ridiculous for a hotel that: - has a humid/damp feel and smell in the lobby - lack of friendly staff - horrible towels - bad room lighting There aren’t many choices in Oxford, but this is definitely not a favorite. It’s uptown location is its shining advantage

Even though my room had prominently displayed no smoking signs my room very clearly had been smoked in--a lot. Cheap air freshener couldn't cover it and made it worse. I did not sleep well here and can't recommend.
The location is great for shopping, dining, and drinking. The downside is that if you are on the alley side it is VERY LOUD! I was kept awake until 2 many nights. Also, the garbage trucks and deliver trucks for the businesses begin at 6:30 most mornings. Once the trucks stopped I thought I could sleep in, I was wrong the staff is loud too! They stood in front of my door with a do not disturb sign hanging and yelled down the hallway about their work.
I booked primarily for the proximity to Miami University. I did not expect the charm and friendliness of the staff. I was greeted as if I were a well-awaited friend. My room key was ready for me before I arrived. It was after midnight and the hospitality was greatly appreciated.
