First impressions of hotel were very good. On arrival met by helpful smiling staff, which is always a nice touch. I had room 312, which was a good size, had a balcony, although view was of car park and next door holiday village, however it was pleasant to sit and enjoy the tranquillity each evening. I would have liked drinks making facility in room as nowhere for coffee, tea, water etc, which would have been a good touch. Ate in the restaurant/bar each evening and the staff were really good. I had read the previous reviews regarding the food etc so was a little nervous what to expect, however the food was very good. I made sure I had a different choice each day and was not disappointed in any way. As I was working during the day, I only really spent evenings on site. Around the location is quiet, I did not explore too much however the walk to the beach, through the dunes was nice. Overall a nice hotel, which could offer a bit more and be a great hotel!
The worst restaurant I have ever been to. It took them exactly 2 hours to serve us the main course, counting from the time we arrived at the table at a reserved timeslot. The dishes were an unimaginative joke! The Soup was terribly watery and salty. The dessert thing was basically melted sugar-flavored ice cream. what a waste of time and money, avoid it the only good things was the interior design with a fireplace in the center, music was decent and waitresses were pleasant which made me sorry to tell them off
We used it as a walking base for the coast walk. Staff efficient and friendly. room first rate and large. Wifi good enough for working with. Breakfast above expectations It's a quiet comfortable place if you want to get away from the world out of season. Pity no pets allowed as we like to walk with the dog. But a small point in an otherwise perfect stay. ( for the second time too!)
Good location Nice and very quiet country place. Good equipped comfortable and very clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and comfortable restaurant. Perfect hotel parking. Good for all kinds of trips.
We went there for a standard 3-course lunch and it was presented by the staff as a super classic meal. It turned out, however to be a very nice lunch with a very nice mix of fresh vegetables, tender steak, medium cuisson exactly how it should be and every staff member we met, was extremely kind and helpful. We will definitely return to Duinzicht !
I simply cant understand how this can be a 4 star hotel. Sure, the lobby is modern and pretty and so is the restaurant, but the rooms are poor. Very basic furniture, lots of empty space, plain walls... no soul at all. The double beds are made of two singles that do not stay close together when used, so there is no need to spend money on a double bed, you will end up sleeping on a single anyway (or in the hole in the middle). There is no AC - it was 20 degrees outside and my room was incredibly hot. Window does not open fully, so that did not help either. Also, when I opened the window, the room was filled with loud hum, probably from the restaurant ventilation. Long story short, I had an absolutely terrible sleep. Also, I could hear every single word the guests in the next room said and I wish they were just talking. Yes, you get it right, I had to listen to someone's sex. No complimentary toiletries, just a big bottle of universal soap on the wall. No vanity box. Only one pillow for each bed. I ordered a Mojito at the bar, and actually had to fish out the limes and squeeze them, because they were just cut and thrown in. Breakfast coffee was not good. On another note, the room was clean (except for a small black smudge on my pillow case), the bathroom was big. Hotel grounds are pretty, bike rental is cheap, hotel is close to the beach and town (when you bike). Staff is friendly and polite. Breakfast was fine, they have also glutenfree pastries.
On the first leg of our June holiday we stayed at the Fletcher hotel duinzicht Ouddorp The Netherlands. On arrival we were met by very friendly reception staff. The room was comfy and spacious. The bar and restaurant staff were very good, the food in the restaurant bar were of a high standard and the buffet breakfast excellent. All in all the hotel is very comfortable and in easy reach of the beach and town as long as you are fit enough to walk, it also has a large free car park . We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Our party of 4 stayed here on the night of Sunday 29th May 2016, after a cycling tour of Zeeland. Although the staff were friendly, once we entered our rooms there were no tea/coffee making facilities, and as we had cycled quite a few miles, in strong headwinds, we were all in need of a cup of tea. When we asked at Reception we were told they were a green key hotel, and did not provide hospitality but could provide us with a flask of hot water - no cups, tea, coffee or milk!!!!!! If we wanted a drink they charge 2 euros 50. However, they say they adopt a green key policy, then I think the bath could be removed as that is a little bit of a contradiction! Although the hotel is reasonably priced, it is not a budget hotel, and I would have thought having tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be a nice touch. The rooms are nice, ours had a balcony, and had a spacious bathroom.
Although the room we had was quite small in comparison with other ones (probably a consequence of booking our stay using a Fletcher voucher), all amenities were good and modern, albeit a bit noisy due to wooden floors. This is a good example of the Fletcher chain's typical full overhaul when they buy a hotel to add into their portfolio - which is a regular occurrance. The hotel has a nice terrace for drinks, protected against wind by means of glass partitions. Breakfast is inside and extensive, buffet-style. We did not try their dinner. Location is very nice, in a residential area outside the center of Ouddorp, but within walking distance of dunes and beach, and a good starting point for cycling trips. Good and free parking, and bike racks, all for free. There is an overflow car park on the opposite side of the street.
Our third stay within six months, the hotel is modern, clean and chic. Some nice decorative touches, including the Fletcher thematic orchids and chandeliers. The staff are very welcoming and efficient, the food is good in the bistro and restaurant, the beds are very comfortable and a good size. The hotel is a little warm but this is fine in autumn, winter and spring, we haven't visited in summer. If you are travelling south from the Hoek this is a good stopping-off point for the day crossing, only about an hour's car drive and easily found. Always busy, used by locals, easy beach access, bikes available. Go there!
