Lack of necessary amenities

The listing stated that toiletries were provided, but only a bottle of hand soap was available — no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. It also mentioned a TV with cable, but the TV wasn’t connected to anything, making it pointless. The listing claimed there was a coffee maker, but there was only a kettle. It was quite inconvenient that there was no reception or on-site attendant, so none of the issues could be resolved during our stay. There was also no space to hang clothes — even a simple coat rack would have helped. A cleaning fee was charged, yet guests are still required to take out the garbage at checkout. On the positive side, the room was spacious and clean. The location is very good — close to the tram station and in a pleasant, safe area. Overall, while the space itself was nice, the lack of amenities and service made the stay disappointing. I would not recommend this accommodation, especially if you’re traveling light or staying for a short time.

Excellent location. Rooms are clean with good facilities. However, there was only one time of room service over 4 days and that happened in the morning we checked out which was not helpful. Supplies like toilet papers ran out because of a lack of service. The worst thing is that there is no reception or staff attending at all. We arrived 2 hours earlier than the checkin time and there was nobody to look after the luggages which most hotels usuually do. TV does not work but there was no staff to seek help from.

Good place to stay, BUT...

The apartment is spacious, and it was nice having a living room to retreat to when our daughter was sleeping. It was very centrally located, as well - the location was really great. Seemed clean and nothing seemed broken or worn out, which was nice. Check in was a pain, though. The app they had us download didn't work, and neither did their machine in the basement, and I had to call and wait 10 minutes to talk to someone who could reset it and get us into the apartment. So between everything it took a while to get in. I also don't love the airbnb model of having to run the dishwasher and take out the trash at the end, but it wasn't too bad. We also had to buy our own toilet paper since they only provide the first roll, and since we had 3 people (2 adults and 1 child) an extra towel would have been nice. I believe there were only two. Overall, I'd stay again since the price was fair but if you want a luxury experience, this isn't really it.

How Sweet it is

I liked the location and proximity to trolly and bus. Short walk to some of the best shopping areas in Oslo, and top eateries near by. I will definitely come again.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially the wonderful connecting rooms – perfect for families or groups. The location was fantastic; we were able to walk everywhere, and it was super convenient to reach the train station or catch a bus. Our only issue was with the showers. While the water pressure was excellent, the lack of a rubber seal on the bottom of the shower doors caused water to flood the bathroom floor each time we used it, which was quite a hassle. That said, the rooms themselves were cozy, clean, and very comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay with just a small drawback.

Great property and location, very close to 19 tram and 21 bus. Couldn't fault room, an oven or microwave oven would have been nice. Check in was a problem as something didn't click with the vander app, but 20 minutes and a phone call later it was sorted

There’s no Iron or Ironing board in the apartment. There was a bench outside my room (beside reception) right beside the bed where people would congregate and keep me awake or wake me up. Just give me a normal key, all the app based stuff is annoying. Also was never sure if my apartment door was actually locked once I was in there.

Very Sweet

Great spacious studio in a lovely location. Only hiccup was getting the digital key sorted as I booked last minute but it worked well once they had added my phone number - might be a problem with data feeding from Hotels.com to Vander ? The hotel has lots of character in the reception for photos etc. My studio was more modern decor but had a kitchen ( hob plus utensils, crockery, pots ) a niche dishwasher and tiny fridge plus table and chairs and a couch, not to mention two wardrobes. I would stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Please note there is no reception or bag drop on site. You have to go across town if you need luggage storage or anything like that. We arrived early and phoned the number and they were really helpful. Our room was gorgeous, bed was really comfy, kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom is separated by a glass wall which is a trend I’m really not a fan of but it wasn’t as bad as some I’ve seen. The shower did also leak into the main room (just a design flaw of the wet room and glass wall) so we had to put a towel down but it wasn’t too bad. Lots of storage and seating which was a nice bonus. The building itself is a beautiful old building which has been converted nicely. Great location with good food and coffee nearby, good transport links and walkable to most things. Would stay again!
