Radisson Blu Hotel Nydalen, Oslo4.0 out of 5.0

good hotel, nice room with all things to work. nice customer service. the choice of the restaurant are limited but the breakfast is reach, only a bit poor for a sweet breakfast. the hotel is in a nice area of the city
Located across the street from the T-bane and bus station, it is easy to get to anywhere in Oslo in a few minutes. The lobby and bar are stylishly designed and a nice place to relax at any time of day. All the staff are pleasant and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
If you always dreamt of living in Trumph Tower, or love the interior style of The Dynasty, there is a chance you could predicate the rooms in this hotel. We had som serious questions about some of the decoration choices (see pics) Who needs a phone in the loo anyway? And what is it about the wall-to wall-carpeting in bright colors? The lobby and restaurant is so fresh - why the tacky rooms?
I had checked whether rooms had kettles before travelling and having received a positive answer did not pack my trusty travel kettle. Wrong choice! Only Business rooms have kettles but guess what? I was provided one in my basic room after I asked. Might have been due to my club carlson card! Free WiFi is great.
I'm here during fall break in Norway, so hotels are half empty. Staff also seem in break mode. I was treated to a nice room upgrade, but the staff member checking me in didn't care to mention it = wasted opportunity to please the customer. After a late day in the office I go for the easy solution and eat in the hotel's own restaurant. This is a surreal experience with just 4 other patrons, 2 waiters who appear at random, and outrageous Norwegian prices. The restaurant competes with its own bar on who can play the loudest music. Who will win: Modern Jazz or Hip Hop? Well, they both lose out to a guest who wanders into the dining area from the reception area to continue her "private" yet very loud phone conversation. After 10 minutes one of the waiters finally appears, but completely ignores Ms. Loudmouth. Add to this the repugnant perfume that the hotel feels obliged to douse the entire ground floor with, and you have the city hotel from hell. I won't be back in a while.
Overpriced. Probably I wouldn't repeat it. The reception is nice and the staff very helpful but the room was out of date and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It seems that the hotel has been renovated, but just for the common zones like the hall or the restaurant. Considering the price that I paid, I had higher expectations and I felt disappointed :( Cleanliness ok and breakfast ok. You will need public transport to go to the city centre (walking distance 45-60 minutes).
A quite new hotel with a nice location in Nydalen. A few minutes walk from busstations where you can take the bus to the airport or in to Oslo city centre. The metro is even close. This is not a cozy hotel for couples or families, but a more business oriented hotel. Good breakfast and friendly staff
breakfast spread is fresh and full of choices. Location of hotel is perfect to travel with public transport to city center or Airport. The restaurant in the hotel has Norwegian food choices and staff is always happy to help.
Breakfast has improved, room was nice. A toiletbrush was not in place on arrival, but that was fixed within minutes from telling the receptionist. Calm atmosphere, smells nice in the reception. Elevators are fast
The Location of this hotel Nydalen is beautiful with varieties of café shops, restaurants ,supermarkets and lovely waterfall views just 3minutes from the hotel, the Metro is right by the side of the hotel so about 5-10 mins to City Centre. I was here for 8 nights. However I arrived at this Radisson expecting quality service but I was a little bit disappointed with respect to Room Service and House Keeping which is the reason I am scoring them an Average. My Room 843 was not properly cleaned on checking in and this happened the next day even after house keeping has cleaned., i found hair all over the bathroom. Customer service at the Reception not friendly, I stayed for 8 nights and i noticed they were all a bit cold, you won't get that warm reception except Mr SADAQAT at breakfast who is always very cheerful and friendly. The good part is the great bed and pillow so quality sleep assures, good breakfast.
