Good location. 15-20 minutes to ferry terminal, central train station, Opera House. Staff is helpful. Ran out of hair conditioner and it was not refilled. A fire alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. and all guests were required to exit the hotel and stand oitside on the sidewalk for 20 minutes

Great service in the heart of Oslo

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Bristol! First of all, it’s a beautiful hotel with interesting history and style. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home at the Hotel Bristol, especially the Concierge, Tarik! Thank you, Tarik! The hotel is in the heart of Oslo and is close to so many things to see. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet, which was included in my room rate, was amazing! So many good and drink options in a beautiful dining area. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to have lunch or dinner in their restaurant, but from what I saw, the decor and the menu options are first class! You will love your stay at the Hotel Bristol!

A Historic Gem with a Few Quirks Staying at Hotel Bristol in Oslo feels like stepping into another era, in the best possible way. The hotel’s historic charm and elegant décor make it one of the city’s most atmospheric places to stay. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a grand, old-world ambiance—rich wood paneling, classic chandeliers, and a timeless sophistication that makes it clear why this hotel has been a favorite for decades. Beyond the aesthetics, the lively atmosphere sets it apart. The hotel is always buzzing, whether it’s guests enjoying the beautiful lounges or locals stopping by for afternoon tea. Despite the constant activity, the staff manage to be both exceptionally friendly and efficient, making sure every guest feels welcome. Now, for the reasons it didn’t quite earn five stars: The mattresses are on the softer side, which may not be ideal for those who need firmer support. Additionally, our room was quite warm, even with the window open, which made sleeping a little challenging. That said, the location is excellent. Dining options abound nearby, and many of Oslo’s key sights are within walking distance. The overall experience was delightful, and if the hotel addressed the temperature control issue and mattress firmness, it would be an easy five-star stay. Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Just be prepared for a warm room and a soft bed—everything else is top-notch.
