Comfort Hotel Grand Central4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed here on three different occasions and were pleased each time with our stay. It is very comfortable and clean. Fabulous breakfast. Convenient to the city center, next door to the RR station (but the rooms are quiet), and a large selection of restaurants.
A really great hotel within the central station building, right in the heart of Oslo. The room is basic but clean and functional. Very Nordic with sparse furnishings (no kettle, iron or wardrobe) but has a great breakfast and a late check out on Sunday - you just need to let the front desk know. On other days you can spend a few extra dollars and buy some extra hours. A great idea if, like me, you have a late flight and don't want to be walking the streets while watching the clock. There's free wifi, a great bar, restaurant and lounge area buy the best draw is the position - right in the heart of everything Oslo.
This is in a great location, but surprisingly quiet despite being next to the central rail station and busy streets and squares bang in the centre of town. Staff are friendly, and it's modern trendy hipster style will appeal to many, but rail not wardrobe, lots of steps in room, and converted trunk drawers, although leather rocker and small desk. Breakfast wide choice, staff helpful and friendly, rooms decent size and bathrooms (shower) work well. My gripe, bed not that comfortable, and sore neck from pillows which were too bulky for my liking, but then I didn't ask for an alternative, so that's my fault I guess...
The choice for this hotel was made for its location, immediately next to the central train station, at an affordable price. We noted the old period walls of the building, with grand windows and doors. It had obvious been renovated over the decades but the high ceilings in the rooms and bathrooms remain, giving a relaxed open feel. The rooms very clean, the bathrooms spacious and the service was friendly - no complaints. The instructions on what is what, i.e. 'This is how it works' are very twenty-first century and yes, a tad funky, but also user-friendly. The ironing room for the die-hard of us who like non-crumpled clothing is a funky experience indeed. An option for tea and coffee facilities in the room would have motivated me to rate above four. Still, I would return again. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. There are a number of eateries on the ground floor which give plenty of choices for tastes and budget.
I've read all the reviews and chose this hotel for the location (train station) and price (not cheap but less pricey). Small (expected this), clean (pleased), not generous with towels, no bar soap 🙄, a bathroom that had a LARGE sliding glass door with no shade and lights were automatic when there was movement in room. Not sure that those in higher buildings nearby didn't get an eyeful. Breakfast good, quiet, no a/c but able open a window to cool the room. All in all, I'd stay again BUT ASK FOR SECOND FLOOR where there's not a metal partition blocking the view.
This was a nice hotel in an excellent location. The staff was very friendly. The room was small, but had a nice updated bathroom. The lectionaries is perfect, in the train station, close to buses and trams and right in the middle of town. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Have stayed here several times the past months. I have a Gold card at Choice, and i never have the opportunity of upgraded room, the past months many TV channels are out of service, the breakfast room is overcrowded with very limited space, and the breakfast is less than regular from what is expected from a hotel within the same price limit. I am disappointed...and i think i will look for other options next time i stay in Oslo.
A very good location next to the main railway station. A barception where service was slow and casual. Long dingy corridors to the room. Room was very basic with the view of the harbour blocked by a concrete wall.Good choice for breakfast but very crowded and an overflow was used. Definitely a hotel for the young.
I booked this hotel for its accessible location. Yet, when I check-in, I found the view of my room totally blocked by a wall. Since I have made a reservation for three nights, I went to the reception to ask for a change of room. The staff was extremely rude and told me that ALL rooms on this side are blocked. He hasnt check the availability of other rooms but told me you have no choice !! Never encounter this in my 30 years of travel. Totally ridiculous ! If you are going to book a room in this hotel, send an email to the reception before your arrival to make sure you won't get room with a wall-facing view.
My husband and I traveled to Norway for a week. We stayed in Oslo for two days, and couldn't be happier with our stay. Check in was smooth and the front desk persons were very friendly and professional. Our room was clean, quite, and we had 2 great nights sleeps. The breakfast both mornings were delicious and comprehensive. I'd stay again should we visit Oslo in the future.
