The was a disappointing stay. The room was too small for two people for three nights. The evening meal was of low quality and quantity. It was served in too small an area when a larger facility was vacant on the ground floor. The room on one occasion was not serviced by 5 pm but was promptly attended too whenn a request was made.
Had two nights at Clarion Hotel Folketeateret in standard room at reduced price. The hotel is located in the center near to everything. The rooms are nice, good service, AMAZING breakfast buffet, afternoon cake and dinner included - so much money saved because of the prices in Norway. Parking in parkinghouse 150 meters away - really easy! Parking is really expensive though ( but you save so much money eating dinner at the hotel for free). Don't miss the Fram Polar museum, the Opera and Aker Brygge - it's so beautiful and lively. I love Oslo - it's really worth a visit..
Very good location for a stay in Oslo. The breakfast is just amazing and the evening meal - included in the price - is an extra bonus. Excellent services by a well-trained staff. The young Swedish lady who is hosting the evening meal is just superb. No need to pay extra for a room with a balcony (the balconies are not very attractive anyway), since the the roof terrace is well furnished and offers much nicer views of the city. I will recommend the hotel for both leisure and business trips.
Only downside is that room is a bit small. No AC but that is normal. Other than those 2 issues this is wonderful. The best breakfast ever (free!) With about 5 selections of eggs, several hot meats, 6 juices and special drinks, coffee or tea and on and on. Good location about 3 blocks from train station. Ecxellent attendants in all ways. Clean.
Very cozy rooms (book the suite if you are up for a treat!), good evening food (included in the price) and very good breakfast. The hotel is also located only a few minutes walk from the central station.
This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. When we first arrived the room offered was not even cleaned. The desk only agreed to change after they saw the room. It was filthy. The next room was clean but lacked adequate towels and all the rooms have no safe. The amount of street noise which persisted all night was great. The complementary breakfast was mediocre. Construction in the area made it impossible for taxis to get you close so we had to drag our luggage through a mall to get to the hotel. I would advise avoiding this place. There are many nice hotels in Oslo.
We book this hotel with dinner included. We did not have great expectations but the hotel exceeded them. Reception was proffesional but did not dedicate us much time. The room was huge and extremely clean, even on top of the furniture was spotless, congratulations, really clean, spotless bathroom too, not just a mark on the mirror. The dinner was very nice, great salads, tasty soups and warm dishes. They also have a great roof terrace and lounge area. However, the best of all is the breakfast. Lots of choices, great gluten free - laktosfree - vegan products. Ecological products were amazing. Fresh smoothies and juices every day. The worst is the breakfast time: 8-11 in the weekends, waaaay to late! We were a buch of people waiting for them to open. Could definitely open earlier. We will be back!
Having stayed at many hotels in the Oslo area, this is certainly one of the best and only a few minutes walk from the central station. The evening meal is good and, above the dining area, is a lovely lounge area and an outside terrace to sit and have a drink. The breakfast buffet is superb with a fabulous choice and excellent quality.
Decorated mostly in black, the room had no counter space and no drawers, boasted a luggage rack on which only a handbag could be placed, and had just enough hanging space for the clothes you wore on the date that ended in your hotel room. To enhance your dating experience, the upstairs lounge and downstairs breakfast were first rate. So this is a great for a one-night stand, but entirely mis-designed for travelers.
Spent 2 nights here. Great location, just a few minutes walk from Oslo Central Station. Hotel has obviously undergone a major renovation, has aircon & window double glazing, new bathroom. Our room faced the street and it was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast room decor is great, set up like a library and the buffet spread is awesome. The hotel also provides a complimentary buffet dinner which was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay here again.
