When we arrived, we noticed the unit had a strange odor to it, which we initially dismissed as the Florida humidty. But the smell did not go away the entire week we stayed - I can only describe it as a very musty, moldy smell. It was so strong, that, even after a week being home and doing all of our laundry, the odor is still in our clothes. The unit itself was fine, we could tell the owners put in a lot of work modernizing and making it a cozy place to stay. However, the place was very dirty (floors were filthy, kitchen cabinets were sticky and clearly not wiped down, there were items left behind from previous renters, stains on the bedspreads etc). We did reach out to the owners through VRBO to let them know of the state of the unit, and received a message back that they would check with the property manager, but we never heard back. It ultimately didnt ruin our trip, but we would definitely not stay here again. Also, if you do plan on staying here, make sure you bring your own toilet paper and garbage bags, they do not provide extras.
