Lakeside grandma's cottage with boat and shared sauna
This rustic old grandma's cottage is located by lake Längelmävesi. Evening sun is shining nicely to the garden and there is two terraces, one in the upper level of the garden and the other is located in the shore.
In Finland during summertime the sun shines even in the evening, so it is nice to spend some time outdoors if the weather is nice.
In the kitchen there is electric stove and fridge with freezer box. Water is cold running water from our own well and it is ok to drink. You do not have to bring drinking water with you.
On the garden there is a barbecue house, there is a fireplace where you may make a fire and barbecue e.g. sausage, corn, vegetables, etc.
Sauna is lovely old fashioned Finnish lakeside sauna. There is cold water coming inside the sauna which is heated with the wood burning stove. It takes about 45 minutes to heat the sauna up and then you may enjoy the nice heat of traditional Finnish "löyly" (mild steam).
The sauna is in public use with one other cottage, the first to make the fire will use sauna first and then the other cottage visitors can come after the first one.
There is own rowing boat included to the cottage. If you are interested in fishing, lake Längelmävesi can give you a nice catch. There is at least a good chance to get some pike or perch. If you need fishing equipment, fishing license or boating vests you
may send us your wishes, we will guide you through and provide the equipment.
The cottage is next to the lake, there is a steep hill by the cottage and to the lakeside you will go with stairs. View to the lake is magnificent.
Toilet is traditional ecological outdoor toilet. It may sound bad, but we have made some refinements so that the experience should be comfortable. Also we are calling this ecological because it is not consuming our great natural resources, clean water.
