Check in went fairly smoothly. Only complaint is there was a musty smell in the room and the bed squeaked. Other than that great.
The welcome was sincere and helpful in finding places to eat. The room was good size and had a chair and table in it. We left something in the room and when we came back 4 days later they had it safely stowed away. Great relief! There was no way to make tea in the room. We like to sleep with the window open, which amplified the street noise - not noticeable for most of the night, but traffic starts early in Waldport.
Newly fitted out, convenient with access to eating places. A perfect overnight stop for weary road travelers. Con: difficult parking access, when full due to overly grand entry awning.
Spacious clean room.
The remodel of the hotel was nice. It felt more like a boutique hotel than a run of the mill hotel. There was no microwave in the room which was really inconvenient. My biggest complaint was that upon arrival the owner was in the office interacting with customers without a face mask on. Some contractors were there that day and the following day and were in the office around guests, and none of them had masks on. The lady who handled check out had a mask on that was so loose the it was hanging off her face and not covering her nose or mouth. This is a huge exposure risk for high risk groups of people.
Bad to the bone. Paper thin walls, people impossible not to hear. Too close to Hwy 101 maddening only window in the room faces it. Most uncomfortable bed, we both woke up in severe pain that lasted for days. Never again.
Great little place to get away from everything. Quiet beaches and friendly locals. The room was just perfect.
It was very clean, spacious and comfortable! We had a great night's sleep as the bed was perfect.
