Quality Inn Ambassador Orange

On a recent trip to Orange, NSW, We stayed at the Quality Inn Ambassador. On first appearance this looked a quality property. On the arrival the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. From arrival at our room the negatives started and continued right to the very end. On the positive side the rooms were large and clean. The Continental breakfast was good value. Now the down side. Despite a bathroom, that was big enough to hold a convention, the toilet was so close to the glass shower recess wall, you needed to 'ride side saddle' as sitting straight on was only possible if you were a small child. Once again despite the large size of the bathroom the storage space beside the hand basin was so small that after the complimentary toiletries there was room for little else. Next the TV would not work. It was too late to report it that night so after reporting it the next day it was fixed. This created a new problem, it would not turn off. You had to unplug it at the wall. The bed was large, but very hard and uncomfortable, while the pillows were small and soft, also uncomfortable. Then we had the 'complimentary' WiFi. It had a long convoluted log in process. Several of our party found 'logging in' impossible. Then to top it off 'complimentary' meant expires after 24 hours. On our second day we went to breakfast at 8.50am. Breakfast was advertised as 7am to 9am. First the waitress reminded us breakfast finished at 9am, then to our amusement the cook rushed out and announced she was not cooking anything as it was 10 to 9. We had the Continental breakfast. Upon return to our room we found we had been 'locked out' as the entrance key would not function. This happened to all three rooms we occupied. We had to walk back to reception and have them reactivated to collect our luggage. For the price they charge we felt this property was very poor value for money. On our next trip to Orange we will be seeking accommodation else where as the Quality Inn Ambassador really had no 'Quality' about it.

Stayed here overnight, asked for a quiet room. Top floor, a few stairs. On main road into town, only short drive away. Very clean large rooms. Free continental breakfast served in restaurant. A popular place as it was nearly full mid week.

Our room was large, quiet and comfortable with a good supply of the complimentary essentials. It took a few minutes to figure out the heater, but once that was sorted, we were warm and snug. The Ambassador has its own restaurant, so we decided to take advantage of not needing to drive, park, etc. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the excellent service. We would happily stay there again.

I am a Quality Inn Member (Choice) and have used Quality / Comfort Inn around the world. This one did not stack up to any of the others I've used, Receptionist doesn't look too happy and you are told all the don'ts first off. Payment by any card incurs a 1% fee and I was told this at the beginning of our conversation. I mentioned that I had prepaid, receptionist should have known this when looking at my booking. Internet is only for one user in the room so if traveling with another then you have to take turns. But not to worry, the internet is so slow that connectivity is lost often and frustration sets in.. I opened the drawer at the night table to find an empty bottle of milk. The garbage bin in the room had someone else's garbage from before us. Couldn't get the heater to work. The kids in the room next cried a lot. How do you stop someone's kids from crying? But the walls do not insulate the noise. Dinning is on the expensive side, much cheaper to eat down the road in town. Room didn't even have a pen and paper pad as most do.

This motel has a restaurant, pool, gym and onsite parking. The rooms are spacious, as is the bathroom but the beds are only doubles. Air Conditioning is preset and not warm enough to heat the big room, which has a table to eat at if you wish to purchase meals elsewhere. There is also a microwave if needed. The motel is located away from most things so is not subject to road noise and noise from other rooms is minimal.

Everything was... average. Location is great, and the hotel rooms are quite spacious. Check in and check-out process took a bit long, with very little explanation of the hotel services. I had to ask where my room was. The dinner and breakfast was way overpriced, and the quality of the food was below average. Would not recommend dining at the restaurant. I come to orange monthly on business and I've stayed in a few places in Orange around the same price that delivered a better experience, in that way I will not be returning to this hotel.

This is a a good quality hotel - highly recommended. We really appreciated the spacious, well appointed spa room, the lovely ambience of the restaurant & the friendly, professional service of the reception & restaurant staff. Only disappointment was that the best deal was not available directly from the hotel - we got the best deal with booking.com. The included breakfast was continental but a cooked breakfast is available for an additional $9pp.

Huge clean rooms, good location and staff were friendly we had to pay $50 deposit which was a first for us.. we have been to orange many times and stayed at many different hotels/motels in orange and was never asked for a deposit. breakfast was nothing special cereals, toast and juice if you wanted a hot breakfast they had a breakfast menu at the restaurant I thought it was a little bit pricey for what was on offer.

My family of 5 just spent 3 nights here over Easter long weekend. The 2 bedroom family room was very good in size with a Queen Bed in the main room and 3 single beds in a smaller separate bedroom. We had a fridge, microwave and sink. The TV had 10 channels on it, 8 were playing sport. The WIFI was incredibly slow and continually dropped out. We were only given a few codes for the 3 day stay which meant we had to choose between using our laptops or phones for the free WIFI. I would recommend the hotel fix this issue and understand that guests want to be able to work or use an ipad on a family holiday. The bathroom was a little dated but clean. We had a view of the next door caravan park but it was very quiet. The restaurant was closed over the Easter weekend which was a little frustrating. The hotel is minutes from town and very easy to find off the highway. Most families were very quiet and respectful of their neighbours. I would stay here in again if I was passing through Orange.

One of the larger motel rooms. Nicely furnished although a little dated. No Foxtel on the TV. Clean. Bed comfortable. A little out of the centre of town. Breakfast is done well. Be careful of their toaster machine. It can be a flame thrower.
