The Captain's House is 6 km from the sandy beach with a heated pool and sea views

The Captain's House is well equipped and beautifully decorated place where on the ground floor you have a kitchen, living room with TV, a music library, a large library of DVDs, a fireplace, study, bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with a shower and perfect (and covered) terrace with outdoor dining area. On the first floor, there is a living room with TV and Xbox, a bedroom with two single beds, 2 bedrooms with double beds and one of them with an en-suite bathroom with shower, a family bathroom with a bathtub and shower, also a big terrace with very nice and comfortable outdoor furniture.
Inside it is furnished with a mixture of family furniture and beautiful fabrics, that we hope to complement the traditional Croatian house. It has a courtyard with a BBQ, the area is filled with plants and flowers, and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax in the evening. The pool hangs on the edge of the mountain with the best views ever.
Although the house is a great place to relax, it is also child-friendly, it has two sitting rooms each with a TV and plenty of space to play.
There is a BBQ outside, a 24m2 heated, not overlooked, heated swimming pool 1,4m deep with a perfect view of the sea and natural environment, you have a couple of places with comfortable seating set so you can find your own perfect spot to completely relax in your well deserved holidays.

(Please note that the pool water temperature, even with heating, can be affected by weather conditions and seasons. Therefore, specific pool temperatures cannot be guaranteed.)

Just Perfect

The Captains House was everything and more than we could have wished for. Communication with Nickolina was excellent and a great recommendation for a local restaurant, the location was perfect and so peaceful with everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. We felt completely at home and can’t recommend this villa highly enough.

Beautiful location

We stayed here at the beginning of May, 4 adults and a 6 year old. Communication with Nikolina was superb from our initial enquiry through to arrival, nothing was too much effort. Even when we couldn’t get the TV to work she came over that evening to assist. We hired a car and visited many places locally, Split, Brela, the local town of Omiš and drove to Dubrovnik, which was stunning. You need a vehicle for this property as you are unable to walk to any local amenities. There is some building work taking place in the road that this property is situated on, (4 or 5 properties being built) which started around 6.30am!!, so something to be aware of…. (But understand that they can’t build during the main summer months, so it’s only if you are there out of season) We would certainly return as the property had everything we required, a fantastic local Restaurant in the neighbouring village and our host was very attentive.

Beautiful location, friendly tortoise and wonderful Nikolina

The Captain's House is perched high up on the mountain a few kilometres from Omis, at the end of a gravel road. It is peaceful with a fantastic view over the mountains with an old fortress, the sea and across to a couple of the Dalmatian islands. The pool is perfect for getting out of the sun, and there are a couple of terraces to sit and read, eat and play cards. There was even a friendly tortoise in the garden. The house itself has plenty of space, air connection, and wifi (although this doesn't reach all over the house). There is a smallish kitchen, but it is well-equipped. The air con worked wonderfully, for which we were very grateful. Nikolina, the contact person could not have been more helpful and really went the extra mile. As the day we were arriving was a national holiday with the shops shut, she contacted us and offered to get some shopping in for us for when we got there. When the supermarkets had run out of bread, she baked some herself. She was so helpful throughout, warning us about another national holiday. Great location, but you need a car, preferably one with some oomph to get up the mountain roads. We would definitely consider coming back.

Excellent holiday in an excellent villa

The Captain's House proved to be exactly as we had hoped and as previous reviews had described. From the moment we arrived and were met by Nickolina, the property manager, we knew we were onto a winner. Since we were a late arrival the pack of essentials which Nickolina provided was most welcome Her tour of the property quickly established that it had everything we could possibly need. As we arrived at almost midnight we didn't get the chance to appreciate the amazing setting and views until the following morning. The house sits on the side of a step cliff with views out over the island of Brac and the hills that surround the property. Totally amazing. . We have hired villas in many different countries across the world, but this surpassed any we have stayed in. The cleanliness, location, views, pool, facilities could not be faulted. The area itself is ideal for a family holiday with the nearby town of Omis providing lots of challenging activities around the river Catina including rafting and boating - both of which we thoroughly enjoyed., .Omis also has loads of restaurants and bars with a wide variety of menus. Split is a short drive away as is the historic town of Trogir so to fully appreciate what the region has to offer, a car is essential. As a family of 5 with ages ranging from 11 to 67 we all agreed this was probably one of the best holidays we have had. What more can I say.

Perfect villa, wonderful location, stunning view

This villa really does deserve all its 5-star reviews, and we couldn't have chosen a better property to stay in for our first visit to Croatia. It's hard to think of any more superlatives – they've all been used by previous guests! The villa is set on the mountainside and has amazing views across to the island of Brac as well as the fortresses of Omis and the Cetina gorge. It is obviously a much-loved family holiday home, and is extremely comfortable, absolutely spotless and with everything guests may need. Right from our initial enquiry through to finalising the last-minute details and recommending car hire, Mirjana was so helpful and efficient that we knew we were going to have a very special holiday. Nikolina was there to greet us when we arrived with some lovely provisions and such enthusiasm for the property and the local area. She really couldn't do enough for us throughout the holiday, and we really appreciated all her help – she's fab! We would love to make a return visit to Croatia, and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Captain's House again.

Wonderful location

We spent the last 2 weeks of September in this lovely house and where I celebrated my 80th birthday with my family. The house is very spacious, of somewhat “quirky” layout. Though we were only four, nonetheless with a garden and pool, a separate furnished patio with BBQ and a large covered terrace not to mention 2 living rooms, there’s plenty of room for the maximum number of people. But the biggest bonus for us was the location looking over country side towards the island of Brac. I never tired of it and miss it now we’re back in a bricks and mortar environment. Another big bonus was Nikolina our hostess/manager who was so friendly and helpful and thoughtful. We went to a very nice restaurant in Naklice, recommended by Nikolina, for my birthday dinner and where I was presented with the most beautiful birthday cake made by Nikolina and her Mum. It was delicious and greatly appreciated by everyone but especially me. Omis was just a 10 minutes drive away down a steep winding road with beautiful scenery and was just the thing with supermarkets, shops and restaurants galore. This was a holiday to remember for all the right reasons.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely villa. We were greeted by Nikolina with a friendly welcome and a tasty supper including homemade local pastries and a bottle of wine. Our flight was delayed but this caused no problem and Nikolina had waited to greet us. We enjoyed all the outdoor areas and the pool was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. Enjoying late night swims to cool off under the stars befor bed. All the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and pleasant individual decoration. The showers in all bathrooms were wonderful and easy to operate. The laundry facilities were excellent. We spent time in the lovely town of Omiš, the views on the steep decline to the town were stunning. We enjoyed meals in the cliff top hotel, on the right as you approach the town, over looking the river Cetina, the unusually shaped mountains and the harbour. The old towns of Split and Trogir were both beautiful and historically interesting, with many outdoor opportunities for drinks and meals until late into the evening. A day st the beach between Omiš and Split was well worth a visit with opportunities for plenty of different water sports. Jet ski was a highlight and not over priced. Where ever we went we were greeted with warmth friendliness and very good service. Everyone speaks excellent English. Thank you for a wonderful week in your delightful villa. A lovely secluded holiday home ideal for a relaxing getaway. Very comfortable throughout, very clean. Nikolina is wonderful and will greet you with a smile, lots of information, wine and essentials. A short 10 min drive to Omis which is full of fabulous restaurants and things to do include rafting on the Cetina and zip lining, both highly recommended. The view from the villa is stunning. We had a fabulous stay and would recommend this villa very highly.

Beautiful villa surrounded by exceptional scenery

A delicious assortment of goodies was waiting for us on arrival including some homemade chocolate cake. Nikolina was very kind throughout our stay and even bought us a surprise birthday cake on dad's birthday! The villa was well equipped and slept the six of us comfortably for two weeks. The location of the villa was gorgeous and the view spectacular. We visited Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Mostar, Trogir, Krka National Park, and we hired a boat through the Certina gorge, which is an absolute must. Omis has several restaurants as recommended by the owners and which didn't disappoint, and plenty of shops for sourcing provisions. We sought peaceful beaches near Trogir and just south of Brela which required a long walk down rocky cliffs, but it was well worth it as we had a cove to ourselves. The pool was very welcome after long tiring days of exploring.

Beautiful, tranquil surroundings and a lovely home from home!

It was a pleasure to stay in The Captain's House, partly because of the stunningly beautiful location but also because it is clearly a home, rather than purely a rental property. It felt warm and homely and I sensed it's witnessed many happy occasions. The many ornaments and photos added to this and David and I particularly appreciated the photo and info about the Captain who the house is named after. It was inspiring to imagine him standing and writing at the lecturn. We would like to thank you too for your generosity, for example, the more than ample supply of towels, the good quality bed linen, and the very well stocked kitchen all served to create a sense of being looked after. I really enjoyed your use of colour in the home. The terracotta in the kitchen and the teal feature wall in the downstairs cloakroom are gorgeous, as in the aqua in the downstairs bedroom. I loved your clever use of fabrics on the walls and feel inspired to get my sewing machine out, now I'm home. Mirjana was an excellent communicator and from the very beginning we felt able to trust her. Her response time was very quick and the information she gave was very helpful. Nikolina was equally lovely and was there to welcome us and show us round. We greatly appreciated the platters of cheese and ham, and cake, as well as the other provisions, thank you. It was a pleasure to take care of the house and I hope that Nikolina will report back that we left it as clean and tidy as we found it. I left a "gift" for the house in the form of a rustic pebble mosaic, nestled in front of one of the planted tubs. I used wood and natural stones found nearby to the house, to reflect the simple beauty of nature. Nikolina photographed it to show the owners, and she felt they would like it because they have a good eye for detail. I hope so! Once again, thank you. We would very much like to return one day.

Toller Urlaub

Ein wirklich schönes und sauberes Anwesen mit einem fantastischen Ausblick auf die Berge und das Meer. Das Haus ist renoviert und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Lage ist super, man findet kleine Supermärkte in 10 Minuten Autofahrt und auch der Strand ist nicht weit. Es gibt hier sogar Standstrände in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Zu Beginn wirkte das Haus und der Pool etwas kleiner als auf den Bildern der Anzeige aber für zwei Familien völlig ausreichend. Das untere Schlafzimmer hat keine Klimaanlage, nur einen Ventilator, liegt aber im hinteren Teil und es ist dort daher nicht so warm also gut aushaltbar.

Captain's house - quite disappointing

We were disappointed with our stay at the holiday home and ended up leaving after just two days because we didn’t feel comfortable staying there. The overall condition of the house didn’t meet the advertised standards. It wasn’t very clean, and there was a musty smell in the cramped rooms. What is more, some of the lights only worked with English plug sockets, which was inconvenient. While the photos online weren’t entirely false, they were definitely misleading—everything appeared much larger in the pictures. The rent is also far too high compared to other, better-equipped, and well-maintained properties that cost less. It feels like a bit of a rip-off. On the plus side, the agency representative was very friendly and helpful.

Splended. Absolutely fantastic! Worth all its 5 stars. If possible, we would have given you 10. Heartwarming and very friendly service from the agency with good recommendations on both activities and restaurants. Fantastic story Reading about the Captains House. But we found Capatins Corner too! Imagine lying on your sunbed viewing the landscape, in the shade of the mountain pine while your feet cool in the pool - We will definitely come back to this cozy and homely place one day!

Schönes gepflegtes Haus mit traumhaftem Ausblick

Wir waren mit sechs Erwachsenen und zwei Kleinkindern in dem Haus. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt und der Ausblick auf das Meer und die Berge ist einfach traumhaft. Die Kinder lieben den beheizten Pool. Die Raumaufteilung im Haus erlaubt auch bei größeren Reisegruppen Privatspähre. Der Service von Miranja und Nikolina war sehr gut. Jede Frage wurde schnell beantwortet. Wir können uns sehr gut vorstellen, wieder zu kommen. Danke für die schöne Zeit!

THE CAPTAIN`S Haus

Wir waren 1. Woche in dem Haus und können eigentlich nur positives berichten: -Haus -> wie in der Anzeige beschrieben, TOP !!! -Pool -> beheizt, TOP !!! -Aussicht-> EINMALIG & ÜBERRAGEND !!! -Grillplatz->gemütlich und groß !!! In einer 10 minütigen Fahrt ist man in der Stadt Omis und am Strand !!! Beim Grillplatz könnte man eine kleine Tür instalieren und Richtung Pool ebenfalls, wenn man Kleinkinder dabei hat ist man nämlich immer hinterher, damit keiner BADEN geht !!! Ansonsten kann man die "HÜTTE" nur empfehlen !!!

We spent there two weeks of our holidays with our three kids and two friends of them. We got a very warm welcome with various goodies like cake, fruit juice, milk, wine, cheese, gammon and bread! So the first relaxing evening was ensured at the pool and the terrace with the beautiful spot! Nicolina and Mirjana offered right from the beginning that they will help if it is needed. So for questions concerning recommendation’s e.g. trips, restaurants, activities… they were responding immediately. The owners have also prepared some lists with helpful hints and recommendations. The house is well prepared and everything is there what you need also for cooking a tasty dinner! The rooms are well prepared and the bathrooms were for all of use quite comfortable. We really enjoyed having our meals at the terrace. The location is perfect. It’s very relaxing, you don’t hear any noisy things and you have a beautiful view. Cooling down after a sun bath or after a trekking- / mountain-bike-tour at the pool was fantastic. The deck chairs are very comfortable and the sun umbrellas very helpful! We visited Split, Trogir, Krka-National-Park, Zadar, did three Mountain-Bike-Tours and a trekking tour up to Kula. So we all enjoyed it very well and get relaxed successfully!
