Lovely boutique hotel right inside the train station. Ollantaytambo is a small town, so everything is easily walkable from here. I also loved their farm-to-table food – fresh and delicious. Big shout-out to the staff who went above and beyond to help us.

Fabulous hotel. Great staff and superb restaurant. Only little grouse we had was that we got the room bang smack on top of the railway platform. Think pre dawn train sounds and loud live band at train boarding times (a unique Peru Rail feature)! The rooms deeper in the property would not have that issue. Lovely flora and views inside too. Overall a very nice little hotel. Would happily go back again.

The El Albergue is a very unique property. It’s literally located steps from the train tracks at Ollantaytambo Station. There is definitely noise from the trains, but I booked an interior room that faces the mountains and had no issues. The property is very quaint and the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

This was such a unique stay- it may have been my favorite in all of Peru! The gardens are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The birds and wildlife were so fun to watch. The room was so well appointed and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. There’s a lot to explore on the property and such friendly people to ask questions. A huge plus was being able to leave our luggage here while taking the train to Machu Picchu and having direct access to the train tracks- allowing you to avoid the long lines at the gate.

Quirky, arsty oasis literally on the station platform for Machu Picchu. So comfortable and relaxed. Delicious food sourced from the farm onsite and unusual alcohol also distilled onsite. A real treat.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff is excellent but the property is right on the train tracks. This creates a lot of noise if your room is near the front and the smell of train exhaust wafts into the room regularly.

The wifi connections were spotty. Very tepid water in the showers. But the place is beautiful. Located next to the train station so a lot of smoke comes in to the restaurant throughout the day. The farm in the back is a nice plus.

Everything was lovely- the staff, rooms, breakfast buffet and grounds. The best was the location. It is literally along the train tracks where you catch the train to Machu Picchu (PeruRail, Inca and the luxury train). Do ask them about the path to take into the town center out the back of the hotel.

The property is delightful and best yet is located in the PeruRail station along the tracks where you board your train to Machu Picchu. Also, ask about the path in back of the property that takes you to the city center and Ollantayambo Archeological Site only 10 minutes walk away. Wonderful hotel!

Fantastic!!!

FANTASTIC! I was worried when I saw that the words "El Albergue" translated to "hostel" but this was no hostel. I had a beautiful room on the ground floor. It was completely silent after about 9 pm. I arranged through the hotel for a taxi to come and pick me up in Cusco. It was easy and seamless. The room was clean and the free breakfast was lovely. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone, especially because of it's convenient location directly inside the train station!
