This was my third or fourth visit and it never disappoints. Very close to the beach area for a short walk and pretty cozy stay for any occasions. I would recommend to search the bus schedule if you plan to arrive from Naha airport, approximately around 1.5 hr ride with fixated schedule, costs about ¥1500 each way and for the returning ticket, it cannot be pre-purchased at the airport and needs to be arranged at the concierge desk at the hotel which opens at 8:00. There a few bilingual staff on duty but otherwise they are very courteous and will do their very best to accommodate any needs!

The so called “hotel” was not welcoming from the beginning. The door girls were too busy chatting to one another inside and didn’t have time to help guests with bags or even with opening a door. The room was large but somehow very poorly designed and the ocean “view” was rather facilities building view with partial ocean scenery. Although I stayed alone for 2 days, they charge me if there were 2 guests in the room. In Japan the room charge is per person staying, not per room like in other countries. The reception couldn’t clearly explain the reason of 2 person charge and tried to make a ridiculous excuse. The food is disgusting and very expensive. So, I had most of my food in Kujira restaurant (which I recommended already in one of my earlier reviews.). More details on the breakfast at the hotel. It was extremely terrible and poor: no taste, obviously cheapest materials were used, even pineapples which grow in Okinawa were not fresh. The plates, folks and knives are made from plastic. After each breakfast was hungry and disappointed. Good point, the serving people try to smile but it doesn’t make breakfast more delicious. The public bath was not clean and a lot of hair were spread everywhere in the dressing room. The beach is located across the public road and has nothing to offer, except some ugly artificial trampoline, no views, very poor and boring. It takes 5-7 min to reach the beach if you walk slowly. I rented a bicycle and it was too ugly and old. When I tried to change for another one, they said it’s the only one they have. However, to be fair, I must admit that the staff at the rental desk was very polite and friendly. The relaxing salon on the second floor keeps lights turned on as if it is opened. But as I found out it was bankrupt few years ago and somehow nobody cares to turn off the lights or at least add the sign “close”. I went to take massage on the 1st floor near the public bath. The massage lady didn’t cut her nails and it was not pleasant to have my skin scratched with her nails.

Im European living in the US: Rooms Big rooms. You get a choice of Japanese rooms, outdated rooms and newly refurbished, high floor rooms. I saw all 3 types and had to take the refurbished rooms. When I read the reviews and saw the pictures I thought I could somewhat comfortably stay in the old rooms but no way! The mattresses must be decades old. Very noisy when you move and they sink by more than 2 inches. Recipe for back pain and unromantic stays. The smell in the room and floor is unbearable. I paid extra for the comfy room but it was well worth it. I stayed on 11th floor. Great views. If you are western, order a different towel. Breakfast Not great. Especially not for western guests. The hotel primarily hosts Japanese guests and other Asian nationalities. For me it was fine but I could see other western guests struggle. That said it’s a Japanese hotel chain and hence in line with expectations. Pool Lots of kids. Big. Didn’t use it. Strange music. Beach Very nice. Clear water. Crowded. Small beach. Lots of families with small children. Pay $35 for chairs and umbrella. Ok food and toilet facilities. 5 min walk from hotel. Beautiful sunset. Lots of water sport activities. Room tip: Ask for a quiet room far away from elevators. The doors are not at all sound proof. You will wake up at 6.30am when the first hotel guests go to breakfast. English They staff really make an effort but it’s still very basic. Not a single front desk staff member lives abroad. I have seen worse in Japan though. Facilities The hotel is extremely outdated. If I were the owner I would close it for 2 years and modernize its. Spa The Japanese bath is amazing. I used it 3x. Can be very busy with >30 people during peak holiday time. Sauna, outdoor and indoor onsen. Restaurants Didn’t use them. I had a pizza at the cafe on the ground floor. Food quality in the hotel is not good. I didn’t have a car and went to the Japanese restaurant next door. Best to have meals outside. The reviews of the hotel restaurants are not that good. Cost I paid $220 for a room. Very expensive but it was the main holiday time in August when all Japanese come here. The price is much more reasonable than the $500-800 that Sheraton, Marriott, intercontinental charge. Transportation Extremely convenient for those who do t rent a car. Airport bus takes only 1 hour with 3 quick stops. Cheap. Stops right in front of the hotel. I stayed here mainly because I don’t have a car, I needed a hotel directly at the beach, I wanted an Onsen and Japanese experience rather than the Sheraton/Americanized experience. Overall it was ok considering it was peak travel time in Japan.

Honestly, i don't know should I recommend this hotel or not. I was there when the hotel was full of Chinese tourists, so it was so noisy. During the breakfast specially, in spa, even in hotel corridors, too, so we couldn't have the peaceful stay. The hotel is in remote place, but we wanted to be away of noise and traffic. Two beaches nearby, a lot of opportunities for jogging and other sport activities. The view of the restaurant is amazing, as you can see on uploaded images. The very annoying matter was the elevators. You really have to be patient to get them. Try the restaurant close to the hotel. The hotel's staff was pleasant and professional.

CONS Staff: They were only able to communicate in very limited English but they tried their best to help. Facilities: Pool was closed for "winter" even though it was around 20C during the day. The hotel should have closed it when the temperature gets really cold (eg below 15C). PROS Location: It's close to the tourist attractions in Yomitan - Zanpa Beach (5-minute walk from the pool), Cape Zanpa and lighthouse (10-minute walk from the pool), Yomitan Village (5-minute taxi ride) and Ryukyu Village (20-minute taxi ride). A number of restaurants near Zanpa beach were within walking distance. Transport: There's an airport limousine that gets to the hotel in 1 hour and 25 minutes and cost 1500 yen (from the airport/Naha city) and 1400 yen (to the airport/Naha city). Staff: Tried their best to help. Room: The room and the beds were quite big by Japanese standards. The sofa bed for the third person was a bit too soft though, however the mattress under one bed was hard enough for the fourth person. The toilet had all the necessities. The room had a great view overlooking Zanpa beach. Facilities: Hotspring (outdoors and indoors) and sauna rooms were big enough to fit a number of people and didn't make you feel crowded. There were also a lot of souvenir shops in the hotel so there's something to do at night.

When I drove up I thought of the book the shinning. This hotrl is just we rid. The rooms are worn out. When I stayed here the baseball team was so everything revolves around them. 20 min wait for an elevator. Front desk was rude and this hotel is in no where land. The only good thing is an outstanding restaurant across the street.

Stayed overnight for a wedding at a nearby hotel. Reception desk kindly allowed us early, courteous, fast and efficient check-in with a smile. We knew right away that this visit would be a pleasant one despite the fact that the place was busy with tourists and families. They quickly arranged for local transportation. The room had a magnificent view of the ocean and surrounding area, generally crop fields planted with the local specialty - purple yam (beni imo or ube). Room was quiet, clean, comfortable, quite spacious with a balcony and good amenities. In-room free wifi needs to be upgraded. The Japanese public bath included in free guest amenities was unexpected but an added value: clean and spacious and had both an outdoor and indoor area plus a sauna. Would be good Japanese experience for any foreigner; naked, separate for sexes. Outdoor pool was closed for the season, but both the pool and the beach looked quite good for a swim and long soak in better weather. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous with a wide variety of Japanese, western and Asian style choices. Best to come in past 8 am; very busy before then. Rate was very competitive and of great value. (Parking is not included but is just JPY 500/day at a very secure lot. All vehicles entering the property were required to pass a ticket gate for added security.) Will definitely visit again and would recommend.

Great view. Good service. Clean room, though a bit too small for 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast buffet is ok, not really impressive. Quite a lot of native Japanese tourists stay in this hotel. There is a popular Japanese restaurant outside the hotel. Price reasonable.

Disappointing stay. Staff friendly but the hotel will gouge you on every opportunity. Want a towel at pool - pay extra. Want to park in the car park - residents pay. Want a table on beach - US$40 for the day. Even charge you for ice in your own room ¥100! Want to scuba dive? US when you hire gear too! Crap evening show. Restaurants internally poor quality and expensive. Go to local alt options. Going cheap on their lobby fish tank. Our boy trying to spot a fish. No luck! Seek alt accommodation. Greg.

Hotels in Okinawa seem quite expensive, but the Zampanisaki is pretty reasonable compared to many. This is a very big hotel, in some ways quite impersonal, but made much less so by the uniformly very lovely staff. The location is great, the Zampa penninsular is very picturesque, the two nearby beaches clean and low key. Zampa beach has nets for safe swimming, and a handy beach bar. I'd steer clear of all the restaurants in the hotel, there are half a dozen them, they seem acceptable in there own way, but you are only going to get very mass produced food, which then has the added disbenefit of being quite expensive as well. So you'd want a car if you stay here, as there are some great places to eat within a few miles. The pool is OK, and there are tennis courts that have seen better days, but do well enough, though the cost seems a tad high. It would be easy to give this hotel a 2 or a 3 star rating without a car. But with a car it just manages a 4. Just bear in mind what it is, a very big, slightly tired and soulless feeling, but admittedly efficient hotel aimed at the Japanese mass market, in a beautiful spot, with surprisingly friendly and caring staff. If you can cope with that it'll be OK, if not find yourself a boutique hotel elsewhere.
