What a great down home hotel! Comfortable, lovely, quiet, and huge! A large and beautiful veranda, heated pool and hot tub. Large pretty room with ocean view, complimentary ice cream, breakfast, and warm fresh baked cookies. Trolley stop in front of the hotel, and easy access to down town and the marginal way. It’s got it all!

End of a long trip

We were looking for a convenient, walkable location in Ogunquit as the last night of vacation and The Colonial Inn fit the bill. Once there, we were able to park and walk and explore. Dinner was walkable as well which is perfect given the heavy traffic the last weekend of Summer. It is also very close to the Marginal Way. The rooms were good size for our family of 4. The beds may be considered soft for some but I found them comfortable. Breakfast was basic but the afternoon cookies made up for that. The porch was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast or the coffee that is offered 24/7. A nice hotel in a perfect location for our family.

We loved the location and experience, and will definitely come back. Our unit had entrance on a quiet back road, so it was away from the noise and crowds, yet 5 minutes from the part of ogunquit we love being in.

The Colonial Inn is very pretty. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub. The hotel is in walking distance to the downtown area with lots of nice shops and restaurants. It is also in walking distance to the beach and to the access of Marginal Way. Everyone who was working at the hotel was very professional and pleasant. Our room was very clean, pretty, and comfortable. The breakfast which was included was great. We loved how they offered some surprises such as snacks, piano entertainment, and a wine tasting during our stay. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to The Colonial Inn soon.

Lovely stay overall. There was no shampoo in the container upon first shower. The second day we had to ask for soap. Front desk staff helped us right away! We wished we could make coffee/tea in our room but it is downstairs. I would stay again. Overall very nice hotel.

Beds are comfortable, the extended rooms in shorebirds building are overly sized, the location is walk to town/ walk to small coves across from Ogunquit Beach- you cannot beat this location.

We stayed one night on our way down the Maine coast. Upon entering our room, we were hit in the face with a musty smell likely from the old carpet and furnishings. It got much worse when using the air conditioner which provided a stream of moldy but cool air. The location of the Inn is ideal with a few minute walk to the Marginal way. The back building where our room was located is badly in need of renovation considering the $350+ nightly cost. Will be choosing better lodgings next time visiting Ogunquit.
