Ok so I will start off by saying the pictures shown is either of another hotel or their Montego Bay location (which, I have not been to and based off my experience with Kingston, will never), but do NOT stay unless its an emergency, did not have any other option, last minute resort, flight delay and just need to crash....u get the drift. Lets start with the good. The entrance to the hotel will let u think its not so bad right? And the sincere and almost apologetic staff do try to subliminally hint that its not all that and try to makeup by being the most friendly and assisting staff I ever met. They too must work with whst they are given and do their job so I give them that. Kingston has been facing water disruptions due to drought, road maintenance and replacing of old water pipes but they did call water trucks to provide water to their guests. And for that I was at least grateful... Now to the negatives...and believe me its a lot so I will try to be brief. Whomever owns the hotel need to renovate ASAP. Rebrand, repaint, retile, replace quickly! Prime location in the heart of the commercial district but yet the rooms are so small Ive seen bigger closets. They feel suffocatingly inadequate. The lady at check-in showed me four rooms, two of which were right inside the lobby area! They at least looked like rooms your dear grandma lived...and died in (and small...lets not forget how small the rooms are), she showed me rooms on the ground floor I almost laughed in her face, then upstairs...at which point I lost it. Im claustrophobic and there was no way in hell would i spend all that money for one night in a shoe closet with Air Conditioning! For a few more thousand i could go to Ocho Rios and find a way better hotel that included breakfast! Anyhoo she informed me she had 2 more rooms and these were the largest ones they had...at an additional cost (rolls eyes...of course it had to be!) So what she showed me was a bit larger and being tired, hungry and just wanting to just sleep I told her fine I would take it. Please note she never informed me on checking in the size of the room, that there would be an additional cost for larger room, and how woefully inadequate the hotel was due to no real security as I could see, no phones in room, no water and such. Plus I didnt get much sleep because I was so uneasy as the door did not look safe at all and the noise from the streets, the look of the place and just literally hearing people come and go....I couldnt wait to leave early next morning...which I did. Never have I ever left a hotel so fast. Checkout was at 11am and i woke up from 6:30 just to leave... Basically...the hotel is more like a motel 6...dont expect much and u wont be disappointed
Spent a couple hours at the tropical Court Inn with some friends after a party as we checked-in in the wee hours of the morning. The staff were very pleasant and attentive however, the facility is a bit run down and the needs lots of improvements. The room was clean and spacious however, the bathroom was very small and what was most disappointing was the fact that there were no towels or wash rags in the bathroom for use. The surrounding areas of the tropical Court Inn is a very nice area of course it's in New Kingston which is quiet and peaceful so that is also a plus of staying at this property. And also the price is not half bad.
Everything shown here are not matching. Does not worth the money I pay to stay. Old room door bathroom shower head is missing no kitchen items. No restaurant no bar. I pay extra money for breakfast for 2 days and I didn’t get anything and when I go for breakfast they said it’s not ready. Only security guard Ricardo was good apart from that nobody and no thing was good. Waste of money.
For 3 persons, the "superior double room" was WAAAYYY too small. The 2 double beds left only 2 sq feet of available space for moving around & dressing with suitcases. Was not comfortable to hang out clothes in wardrobe so lived totally out of suitcases....Bathroom - no shower head, but otherwise adequate, Water was hot. AC worked well. Best parts of the Inn? were 1 - Receptionist (Ms Annel was so great and helpful, and informative), 2 - the Chef (breakfast was sooooooo GOOD!!!) I miss it. 3 - Place was secure, with buzzer system and security cameras, never had to worry. 4 - Maintenance/ housekeeping, did a good jo of cleaning/ tidying up, and quickly offered assistance when requested. FYI - free wi-fi available, but connection can be inconsistent at times (depending on the location). I would consider staying there again, especially as they are so central to all major events during carnival season. However, room can only hold 2 persons allotted :)
This is the ideal place located in New Kingston if you want to spend a night or a weekend. It is great for families and for couples. The Front desk team was very efficient and friendly. They also offer free wifi. However, this did not work in the rooms. You are more likely to connect in the Reception area. A major plus is that they offer different types of tea between 6:00 am - 11:00 am and a microwave and a mini refrigerator were present in the room that we had. This was a huge plus as I was traveling with my niece and a newborn baby. I strongly recommended. The price range was approximately $160 USD for two nights.
Awful, you can step off the bed and step in the bathroom. Not worth the money...hallway is dark and creep. I asked to see the room and didn't even stay for a night. For a better and safe hotel I would recommend courtliegh or knutsford.
Last minute trip to kingston for bob marleys 70th birthday celebration in kingston. The hotel is warm and inviting. The staff is very knowledgable. ROOms are large, spacious and clean. All rooms have ac, great plus. A short mile and a half to bob marleys house at 56 hope road. We walked wich was great. 8 min taxi to downtown or trench town. Eateries all around less than two blocks away are lots of shops. On time cab company is the best super fast, and friendly. Always on time. Security guard Omar was also great. If you need anything ask the staff. Great stay. Call on time cab service from airport you save 10-15 dollars as airport cabs cost 30-35 dollars only one cab company that operates the airport.
