We had a western style Japanese room on the 6th floor. Huge room with 2 twin beds and 3 futons. Clean and comfortable. Friendly counter and restaurant staff that tried their best to convey subtleties to non-Japanese speaking guests. Good dinner. A different Onsen experience.
The hotel staff wasn't helpful. I arrieved hotel at 5 pm and was told my buffet dinner was 7 or 7:30pm only. I told the staff that I came here is for the ice festival and asked possible to have the earliest dinner time like 6 or 6:30pm ( since the hotel dinner time is from 6 to 9 pm and the shuttle bus provided by hotel to that fesrival is 7:20 or 7:50). U know the hotel staff said can't change earlier time that made me sooooo disappointed!!! So I walked to the dinner venue and "beg" the staff please let me have dinner earlier around 6:30 so that I can catch the shuttle bus to festival.
Also, the hotel room was so small and very hot,I saw most guests have to open the room door to let the air in.
Finally the hotel instruction was unclear. I asked couples time should I make the reservation for the bus to JR station, staff just said no no and never tell me that is the public bus instead of hotel shuttle bus. So on that day I waited the bus in the lobby area, u know the public bus wasn't stop in front on the hotel, that was just outside the bus stop, then finally I missed the bus!!!!! I have to take the taxi there which cost 3000 yen!!!!!!
The hotel staff was not helpful and made me very very disappointed. I won't recommend this to anyone!!!!!!
