Location, location, location! What a great spot on the lake - so close to everything. This is a lovely cottage with a fantastic view of the lake!

Excellent stay, we had a blast with the dogs. Just as advertised. The road was a little daunting to cross, but the picnic table down by the dock made it easy to stay down by the water for the day. Hot tub was great and everything in kitchen worked well (but BYO sugar & K Cups!)

We enjoyed our stay. Very nice clean house in a great location. The only drawback was the photo view of Deep Creek Lake minimizes the busy highway in between the house and the dock.I didn’t expect that much traffic.

Everything was fantastic. We had an amazing time Every day after a wonderful day of hiking and boating on and around the lake, we looked forward to returning to our red cottage by the lake. The grill was fantastic. The hot tub was amazing. The house was fully stocked, with everything we needed.
We enjoyed hiking at Swallow Falls

Absolutely charming.

We had the most amazing weekend getaway. This property is everything it advertised to be. The lake views were beautiful. Front porch was excellent for morning coffee. Beds were so comfortable! Having a private dock was such a bonus. We would definitely recommend this property.

Red Cottage

This cottage has lovely views of the lake. The highway traffic noise is a bit loud. We knew both those things before renting. The kitchen was small but very practical. The beds were comfy.

Perfect for a small family!

We loved our stay at the Red Cottage. The first thing I noticed walking in was the cleanliness of the house. The place was absolutely immaculate. We enjoyed many of the amenities available, such as the fire pit and hot tub. There were so many kitchen utensils and accessories available we didn’t need to bring a thing. My only complaint and it was nothing to do with the house so I hate to have to mention it, was the road in front. It is very hard to cross due to high amount of traffic, speed limit and lack of crosswalks. Something the city really needs to address. Good news is, the shoulder of the road is very wide. So we would pack our vehicle up, take it down to the shoulder to unload at the dock and leave it there while we were boating. I highly recommend this house if you’re looking for a great family getaway. There’s so much to do at Deep Creek for everyone. We will be back!

4th of July Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation over the 4th of July. This has been our 6th time staying at Deep Creek but by far our favorite place to stay. The property was in the perfect location, close to restaurants, grocery stores, center of the lake, etc. The house was cute, clean, and accommodated our family perfectly. Bonus was that it was pet friendly. The dock was a key feature of our stay and was perfect. I believe the dock was upgraded from the one in the listing which was far better than we thought. The hot tub was clean and a great feature to use after a day on the lake. Check in/out was easy. Communicating with the property was easy. They responded to emails and phone calls quickly. One downfall is the busy road you have to cross to get to the dock. Most times it was not a problem but on the 4th we had to wait awhile as there is no pedestrian crossing signs. Children would need to have an adult with them. Another downfall is only having one bathroom. For a family it would be nice to have at least a half bath in the basement. We would definitely book this place again!

Girls Weekend

My daughter and I made a weekend trip to deep creek. It was a perfect cabin getaway. Close to everything! I wouldn’t recommend for a family with small children. Traffic moves really quickly in front of the stairs to and from the dock. Hot tub was a perfect explanation point to our day on the lake!

Clean house, lots of road noise.

The house was very clean. However they left two rolls of toilet paper for five days and one roll of paper towels. Not quite enough. Other places I’ve stayed at were more generous! One dishwasher tablet. Could have used more. And no dish soap. Kind of unusual. But as I mentioned the house was very clean and stocked with most everything needed for cooking. The fire pit was great and it’s easy to find someone selling wood in the area. Crossing the busy highway to get to the docks was like playing Frogger! I wouldn’t recommend taking little kids if you plan on boating. Too dangerous to cross. It is nice having a dock if you plan on renting a boat for the day. You can always stop back for the bathroom, more food etc. it’s very close to many food options and other stores so you won’t have to go far out of your way. Overall we had a great time.

Beautiful views, convenient location!

The Red Cottage is an adorable property! It was perfect for my crew and our two dogs! The front porch has a swing, rocking chairs, and gate so the dogs can enjoy being outside! The road is busy so be careful crossing over to the lake/ dock. The hot tub is on a timer so the jets don’t come on automatically when you get in. There is also a nice little sitting area with a fire pit. Gorgeous views from the house! While in the house, we spent majority of our time in the sunroom! Great stay! We would love to go back!

Wonderful weekend

This cottage is clean and comfortable. The front porch and sunroom have wonderful views of the lake. The fire pit and hot tub were great, as was access to the lake. The road is noisy, but the owners are up front about the cabin’s location on the road. We can’t wait to come back!

Great view, privacy, and location

We had a great time at this cottage - it was clean, cozy and had a great view of the lake. We were a little disappointed that the dock wasn't in the water (after Labor Day) despite the property description leading us to believe that it would be. But overall we would recommend this place.

Relaxing Stay

My family and I loved staying at this property. It was the perfect size for our us. The location was convenient for every need we had. When we didn't feel like venturing out, the front porch or hot tub were our favorite spots.

Beautiful. Clean. Cozy. Convenient. Would do it again next year. The add on fees expensive though. I rented a 3 bedroom house on a lake in Maine for the price of 3 nights at Derp Creek Lake.
