Christmas at Cabin

We spent Christmas here and had a great time! The hosts were very responsive and informative. The check-in and check-out was very easy. They provided us with tons of towels. We would just recommend having less trash because the dumpster was always full.

Cozy cabin

It was a beautiful cabin, perfect for me and my party. We were looking for a cabin to spend some quality time together and this was it. The kids love the hot tub, game room, and board games. We appreciate that there are necessary amenities and utensils available to use that we don’t need to bring from home. Just one little thing, the beds weren’t as comfortable, but it’s not a deal breaker. The overall stay was amazing and we would definitely book again. Thanks for welcoming us into your home.

Good location, plenty of parking, good game room...older house

Good location, plenty of parking, good game room...Good dinning room sharing with living/family room. It's an older house. The table in the back near the BBQ is hazard, very old, need to through away. 1 of 2 showers is very very small. Ask to pay for huge deposit OR Must pay for insurance. 2 cameras annoyance

Weekend get-away

My family and I enjoyed the beautiful stay! All my kiddos loved the game room, ages ranging from 6-14 years old. The amenities were appreciated and kitchen ware was awesome. We made a few home cooked meals and the necessary dishes were available. Thank you for a lovely stay

Amazing home

Literally home away from home. Me and my family enjoyed our time very much. The house was very clean and spacious there was 13 of us and we all fit comfortably. If o could give the house more than five stars I would easily. Thank you very much.

Nightmare

My family and I had a horrible experience with this cabin. We were there December 31st, 2022. We got the around 4:00 p.m. around 4:30 the first floor started flooding. The whole first floor. The first floor had a bathroom laundry area a bedroom and a small living room, we were not able to use the first floor the first night due to flooding. I sent an email to the owner to let him know what was going on. He said to send him videos of what was going on. I sent them to him and he kept saying he didn’t get anything. I sent him and email the next morning asking if he got the email no respond. The next night the water was gone so we were able to use the bedroom on the first floor. On December 2nd when I got home I called Vrbo to make a complaint about the property and see if we can at least get our money back for the first night. Owner’s response was. Please be advised that this is not an issue that could have been fixed. The water in the bottom level was due to the weather. The area was experiencing severe rain and the entire area was on flash flood warning. Since this is outside of our control, we cannot refund for it. This is not the first time this happens in this cabin according to the cleaning lady. So after his response I called Vrbo again and they trying calling him but he didn’t answer. I don’t think that he should be renting his cabin during raining season. What was supposed to be a relaxing and fun time with our family for New Year’s Eve turn in to us having to clean a mess and stressing out thinking the whole cabin was going to flood. I give this cabin a 0 stars. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Very nice experience

The house was really nice. Beautiful view of the lake from the deck. Comfortable furniture. Short drive to the lake. Only suggestions would be to secure the railing on the deck, more games in the game room, and equipment for the lake like paddle boards, inflatables, and towels for the lake. We brought our own but it takes up a lot of space when traveling.

A nice stay - But needs attention

After running our own rentals in Costa Rica for 17 years, I understand the challenges of running such a business. Especially if you are not there doing it yourselves. And I realize the importance of the rating system. As much as we (as a group of 13 we discussed this) would have wanted to give you an overall rating of 5 stars, we knew that wasn't the right thing to do. What this property needs are for its owner or host (if not the same) to pay it a visit and get it into better shape. It also needs someone to make sure things are in working order (or refilled, replaced, repaired, truly cleaned) before new guests arrive each time. Luckily, we are handy and capable people who can fix things ourselves and get what it needed, (crazy that BOTH BBQ gas containers were empty!) We suggest attention is made with the wood deck railing as it is old and rickety, making it uncertain. We hope someone will take the time to do right by this property as it is a gem needing attention and better detail management and care between renters.

Didn’t meet our expectations

My recent stay at Merrill house did not meet our expectations. The house clearly states it is equipped with AC/heaters in every room however they were not fully functioning. The basement, where most of the beds reside, had absolutely no heating. I reached out to the property manager and did everything asked of me to troubleshoot the issue for over an hour. The solution was they send a tech out the following day. That was not ideal and some of us slept on the floor in the living room because it was so cold down there. The tech never showed up and the solution was bringing in 3 space heaters the following afternoon. Unacceptable. The description also stated air mattresses were available but the pump was malfunctioning and not inflating any of the them. The trash bin was completely full upon arrival. With the cleaning deposit included in our stay the house upkeep and housecleaning was not clean. The porch was full of pines. The game room was not swept, the dartboard number ring was broken. This property is very deceiving in advertising a pool table and community pool. There was neither during our stay. Also, the house did not have a functioning can opener. The tongs were not durable so we had to go into town in the middle of cooking to get these essentials. Warning, there is no curtains in the entertaining areas. There was a rodent (mouse) in the basement closet that is filled with trash and clutter. I would highly recommend you go with another property. It did not meet our expectations and will do more research prior to using Vrbo in the future.

Great place to relax and enjoy visits to Yosemite!

Our family loved staying here! Upon arriving, we were amazed at the beauty of this home! It’s been styled and put together so well. The home itself was so clean it was easy to settle in. The design is so modern and cozy we couldn’t get enough of how beautiful it was. We wanted to move right in! The property managers were very easy to get a hold of and all check in/out instructions were very clear. Yosemite National Park is about 30 minutes away and the drive was so pretty. We have no complaints of our stay as everything seemed to have been well thought out. We spent a day at Bass Lake and enjoyed swimming, fishing, and hanging out. We hope we can return sometime soon!
