PEACEFUL & CENTRAL

Sea Salt Haven sits on a quiet, no-through-traffic street with friendly neighbors and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Kai-Joe’s, Publix, Lil & John’s Sweetreat Homemade Ice Cream, Big Pups Coffee Company, and nearby shops are only about a two-minute ride away by car or in The Binz. Middleton Park, with its playground, Splash Pad, and community events, is also just minutes away.

WALK, BIKE OR KAYAK

Join the sidewalk at the end of our street without crossing East Oak Island Drive. Turn left and travel just three streets to the scenic SE 31st Street pedestrian and bicycle walkover—the quickest walking route to the ocean, about 0.5 mile from Sea Salt Haven. Along the way, enjoy peaceful marsh views and opportunities to spot birds and other wildlife. The area also includes a floating dock, kayak launch, and kayak rentals.

EASY BEACH DAYS

Turn right from our street to reach the SE 40th Street beach access, about 0.7 mile away. Walk or bike there entirely by sidewalk, or take The Binz and enjoy free beach parking with its included Oak Island permit. The SE 46th Street Cabana beach access is also nearby and offers seasonal restrooms, rinse stations, picnic tables, and an accessible ramp.

Guests enjoy easy self check-in using our smart lock. A unique door code will be provided on the day of check-in.

Sea Salt Haven is elevated on pilings and requires stairs to enter. Once inside, all bedrooms, bathrooms and primary living spaces are conveniently located on one level.

Guests have private access to all guest areas at Sea Salt Haven, including the indoor living spaces, porches, covered outdoor gathering area, year-round screened hot tub, outdoor shower, gas grill, yard games and amenities provided during their stay.

Guests may access the garage to use The Binz, bicycles, beach chairs, beach wagon, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach toys and other guest equipment. The garage is not available for guest vehicle parking.

The only off-limits areas are locked owner-storage spaces, including the owner’s storage room beneath the house and the locked owner’s bin in the primary bedroom walk-in closet.

The seventh sleeping space is a twin XL upper bunk accessed by a ladder and is best suited for a child. Please review the bed setup before booking to make sure it works for your group.

TRANSIT

Oak Island is best reached by car. Guests will need a personal vehicle, rental car, or other transportation to reach the island and explore nearby towns and attractions. Wilmington International Airport (ILM), the closest major airport, is approximately a 50-minute drive from Sea Salt Haven.

Once you arrive, getting around Oak Island is easy. Guests can use The Binz, our included six-seat street-legal LSV, the provided bikes, walk, or use their own vehicle for the beach, restaurants, shops, coffee, ice cream, and other nearby destinations.

A personal vehicle is recommended for trips off the island, including visits to historic Southport and other nearby coastal areas.

Southport Trolley may offer seasonal service between Southport and Oak Island. Guests interested in using the trolley should confirm current routes, stops, fares, and operating hours directly with the trolley service before making plans.

Sea Salt Haven is personally owned, managed and designed with the little things in mind—the details and amenities we appreciate when we travel ourselves and would want waiting for us when we arrive. Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, convenient and easy to enjoy from the start.

THE BINZ & BEACH PARKING

Your stay includes complimentary use of “The Binz,” our six-seat street-legal LSV with an assigned Oak Island beach parking permit for free beach parking.

The permit applies only to The Binz, not personal vehicles. Only registered guests may ride in The Binz. Drivers must be registered guests who are at least 23 years old, have provided a copy of their valid driver’s license and completed the required recreational-use waiver.

ROUTINE PROPERTY SERVICE

Scheduled lawn care, hot tub service and trash-bin service may occur during your stay. Service providers may access the yard, screened hot tub area or garage as needed but will not enter the home. We will provide advance notice whenever possible.

SECURITY & PRIVACY

One exterior security camera is mounted beneath the front of the house. It monitors the garage entrance, driveway and bottom of the exterior staircase and records video and audio when motion is detected. It does not monitor interior spaces or private outdoor areas.

A noise-monitoring device in the living room measures sound levels only and does not record or transmit conversations.

Sea Salt Haven is a no-pet, smoke- and vape-free property. Parties and events are not permitted.

PLEASE NOTE:

* The guest who makes the reservation must be one of the registered guests staying at Sea Salt Haven. Third-party bookings are not permitted.
* Prior to arrival, the booking guest must review and agree to the Rental Agreement, complete the pre-arrival form, and sign the separate Recreational Waiver.
* Only registered overnight guests and pre-approved visitors are permitted on the property.
* We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance in case weather, travel issues, illness, or other unexpected circumstances affect your trip.
