This classic beach home was built in 1965 and still carries much of its original charm, with its vintage character comes some of the quirks of an older home. 

An adorable 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage located close to the beach and to all Oak Island has to offer. The Mighty Turtle is small enough for a romantic getaway, fishing trip, or a family vacation. 

Relax in the quiet neighborhood, or walk to the beach for the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Enjoy your morning coffee or a refreshing beverage from the screened in porch right off the Master Bedroom.

Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and the kids will love the large fenced in backyard- or go the bunk bed room equipped with a DVD player, games, puzzles, books for hours of fun filled play time. Or sit on the sectional sofa and unwind from a fun, sun filled day on the beach.

Some power outlets and lights stoped working the day before check out. I contacted the property the told me to call some number that is not listed anywhere. The also didnt provide that number. Nobody cares.

Not So Mighty

The location of this property was a little further than anticipated. We were not aware you had to cross a busy two lane road. Definitely not walkable if carrying a lot of items. The property was okay. The outdoor grill and backyard were undesirable. The inside is a little outdated and the floors are uneven with soft spots. There is no dishwasher and the kitchen wasn’t equipped very well. Very little privacy as a majority of the house is connected by thin accordion doors or a curtain. The one private bedroom didn’t have a door either. We assume due to the house not having central AC. We spent most of our evenings on the screened in back porch which was very nice. The living room was comfortable, but the lack of family style dining was problematic. We would not stay at this location again for the price we paid, but made the best with what we had.

Listing is not like the house

The layout was awful and not explained in the listing. 3 of the bedrooms were connected to each other so you had to walk through all the rooms to get to one. The doors were separated with tiny thin accordion doors or literal curtains. There was a bed in the master closet. One light for the kitchen and living room. 2 ACs in the house but hardly stayed cool, soft spots in the floors, and upstairs area that was not disclosed in the listing. Hardly any dishes, pots, pans, half a blender, etc. not a great stay at all.
