We really enjoyed our stay. The views on both sides of the house are amazing. The beach was peaceful and not crowded at all, it's a very quiet location. The house layout was perfect for our family.

Magnificent! Perfect getaway for the family. The pool was a hit with the little ones, and the long deck to the beach made it very convenient to foot your feet in the sand at the right place. Would definitely go here again and highly recommend to anyone.

fun times at CoconutHut

My husband and friend stayed here a year ago and enjoyed it. We stayed here with 2 other couples and had a great time. The location is great, beach is great and so great to have a pool in the dunes. Rental team was great to deal with and super responsive.

Family Getaway

Great family getaway. There were 12 in our group, (ages 4-64) the kids loved the pool, board walkway to beach is a nice benefit, & the location is amazing! Prompt responses from property management from beginning to end. We had a great time!

Quiet beauty

We had our biannual family getaway with our kids and grandkids. A very peaceful location. Having the pool was a great addition to the stay giving us options on how to spend each day. Caswell is a great location.

Fun time!

The house was great! It had everything we needed for the two night of pretty intense cooking. The kids enjoyed the loft and we enjoyed the view and the easy walk to the beach!

Wonderful house on the beach

My friends and I had a wonderful time at this updated, comfortable house on the ocean. There was plenty of room for everyone, especially in the main area, which was perfect for a large crowd. We loved all of the chairs on the deck, and the heated pool was definitely a bonus! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Location was very convenient and property was very clean. Would like to have had some kitchen washcloths and towels. Overall, very good.

Return to OKI

We lived on OKI for 15 years and are now returning for famiky vacations. Coconut Hut is a fantastic location. With the chalkenge of unexpected , early arrival of jelly fish and Man of War, the pool was a definite plus with young ones along. The rental Company contact was very responsive to any concerns.

Perfect location on a quiet beach

Our family had a wonderful week long vacation at Coconut Hut. The owner was incredibly responsive and the property was lovely. The heated pool was a great option since the ocean water was so cold. Sitting on the back covered porch listening to the ocean waves and they walking directly onto the beach was simply relaxing. High recommended property.

Quiet & Relaxing!

The Coconut Hut is a quiet & beautiful location! We loved the private mini boardwalk to the beach & the heated pool! The property management team was great! Professional & quick responses. The only problem we had were biting deer flies around the pool. We were there in April, so not sure if they are worse at that time. Besides that, it as a wonderful vacation!

Coconut But was nice.

The House is nice. Nothing fancy but very suitable for a beach house. We had a few minor maintenance issues that were fixed very quickly. The maintenance guy went above and beyond. The host was also very quick to respond to any questions. Overall the whole experience was great.

Great beach, great view of fireworks in Southport. The wash machine needs work. Sounds like a bearing or its grossly out of balance.

We enjoyed our stay and understand with the home being near the beach will have weather effects from it such as sand and moisture. With the price paid, the following should be noted and considered. The pictures are not what we came to and it was disappointing upon arrival. The stove top was broken and evidence of bugs in the home although that was minor. Furniture needs updated. The couch and chairs appears dirty, doors need to be replaced, windows cleaned in the main living room area and the carpets replaced on the stairs. Cleanliness could be much better. The kids enjoyed the pool area and we loved the boardwalk beach access.

Tired and dirty. Ice maker, outside shower didn’t work, dishwasher slide out when loading, lights under the counter are held together with electrical tape and can’t be shut off. Tried to conceal water damage by sloppy paint jobs including painting around the picture on the wall. Door to get in warped and difficult to open . Pool deck is very slippery. Over priced for a place in such poor condition

Amazing stay at the Coconut Hut!

The views from this house are absolutely breath taking! My family of 4 had plenty of space and throughly enjoyed the easy, direct access to the beach. The heated pool was also a plus! The deck around it is a bit rugged so we did wear flip flops to avoid stepping on any nails and/or splinters. The kitchen is beautifully updated. Having a washer and dryer with kids was also a great plus for this property. The couches (both upstairs and in the living room) are quite worn down. But we didn’t sit down much (except for meals), so we weren’t bothered by their condition. Overall, this house’s location is unbeatable! We are already looking at booking it again for our next beach trip!

Beautiful, but…

The location of this property is incredible. It’s private and quiet, and there’s a private walkway all the way directly to the beach. The kitchen is very well stocked and overall the house was clean. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious as well. Communication with the hosts was super easy and they’re very responsive, but there were some issues with the house. We paid extra for linens and towels and when we arrived, they were simply wrapped in plastic so we had to make our own beds. I think it’s a little crazy to list a rental house without linens or towels, but it’s even crazier to expect visitors to make (and unmake before checkout) our beds when we’ve paid extra already. The other issue was the pool. It was so dirty when we arrived, we never used it the whole week. It should definitely be covered when it’s not in use. We spent one day out on the pool deck and when we were there we found used feminine pads, critter poop inside the pool, and other trash around the pool area. There were other small issues as well, and we killed 3 cockroaches inside the house during our stay (though this isn’t that crazy since the house is basically on the beach, and they had Raid stocked). Overall we were just bummed by this because the property is SO beautiful and well stocked (TVs, cooking utensils and tools, extra pillows and bedding, games, lounge gear, etc) that it was disappointing to run into issues. Overall, though, for the price it’s quite lovely and was a beautiful week-long getaway.

Coconut House Family Vacation

The location of the beach house was absolutely wonderful. Our children loved the pool. Only issue was with housekeeping. Comforters had large spots on them and we encountered a few roaches and flies indoors. Great to have fenced walkway to the beach for our 2 and 3 year olds. Good safety features.

We love oak island

My wife and I visited oak island last year and loved it so much we wanted to share our experience with friends and family. This house was everything we needed. Plenty of room, amazing kitchen, a pool and a short private walk to the beach where we enjoyed some pretty good fishing. We definitely plan to come back next year.
