We had the pleasure of staying here for an extended weekend recently. What we loved: + Guest communication system. From the time you show interest online through their website, you are guided with an incredibly modern CRM that enables you to get the best offer (better than major booking websites), reserve massages, arrange taxi transfers, etc. Best online concierge system I have ever seen with any hotel, anywhere. + Food. Absolutely outstanding food quality, ingredients, quantity and choice. Really, really, REALLY good. + Views. Incredible views of the dolomites. Very relaxing and super idyllic, as long as you ignore the unfortunate fact that the infinity pool and the mountains is divided by the view of a road. + Rooms and design. We stayed in the part that was built in 2017 and found the room to be very large and comfortable with nice views. + Pool/sauna area. We couldn't use it extensively due to the fact that the spa area only opens at midday, but it's a really cool setup. + Gym. For a 4* hotel, it's quite spacious and you can do a decent workout there. + Housekeeping. At all times, the room and the property overall seem very clean. + Speed of problem solving. Our hot water was out after a lightning struck the water heating building. A tree fell down onto the spa area during the same storm. Both issues were solved within minutes. + Goats. They're really quite friendly. What could be even better: - Service. It seems like a property that trains its staff well with standard operating procedures, but we would have loved a little more natural interpersonal relations (a bit of chit-chat, asking how we are enjoying the trip/food/etc. rather than just "here is the next course/can I bring the bill"). Notable positive exceptions were Chiara and the lady who appeared to be head of management/owner, from who we got a genuine feeling of care for the individual guests. There was also a bit of a mishap during a dinner one night, for which Chiara (but not the service person) apologised and sent us a bottle of prosecco to make up for it - which was a nice touch. - Late check-out charges. Much talk here centres around the pricing of still water (and I agree that it's odd that sometimes you're charged like €5 for water some nights, but not others, and the dinner service starts with a 1/4 full "free" bottle of water), but the late check-out charges seem even more startlingly high: We considered staying 1 extra hour in our room so we could enjoy the spa again, but would have had to pay €180 extra...for 1 hour of spa usage and subsequent ability to shower in our room at 12:15h. As nice as the spa and the rooms are, we feel like the hotel should be more lenient/cheaper here - particularly since we only arrived at 21:30h our first night and thereby missed dinner service entirely (but for some nice cold cuts).
I was very surprised with the quality of the service a Pfoesl Hotel, It was my first time in the Dolomites so i've looked for a nice hotel. But we discover a wonderful place !! The staff is always at your service, the hotel has a lot of activities to do (walking tours, bike tours, cook lessons, yoga, etc,) and a nice place to relax in it spa. The food is amazing, you have dinners with 5 course menu changed every day in 3 choices of vegetarian, light or regional. All of this surrounded of a beautiful spot of the Dolomites. We will be back soon.
This is I believe my 10th stay at Hotel Pfoesl. Many very good hotels struggle to maintain there standards. Not true of the Pfoesl it just gets better every time I stay. The mountain setting is idyllic, the staff our professional but genuinely friendly and helpful . The food is something else. Every evening it is a truly gastronomic experience. And the new infinity pool which juts out outside is quite incredible.
We were in the hotel in January (skiing for 5 days) with our 3 teenagers. We are in love with the place and we highly recommend it to everyone who needs to relax. 1. The view from the hotel is spectacular and the architecture of the place is beautiful. Huge windows are making the views the part of the interior design. 2. The food is amazing - composed with healthy, organic, local ingredients. Dinners were a pure pleasure every evening. Our kids were choosing simple dishes from kids menu. Wine list and Oscars opinions were very excellent. 3. Very professional and kind staff. Special thanks to Bledi - our waiter - he was exceptional. 4. Pool and adult spa space is one of the best we ever been to. Herbal saunas & external whirlpool were very relaxing. 5. Very good spa treatments (thanks to Maria) including massages (excellent massage by Martin). 6. Ski lift for beginners was 10 minutes walking distance. The only disappointing fact is that spa, pool & saunas were closing too early at 19.30. We hope we will come back to that extraordinary place one day.
This is my 8th time or so in this hotel, where I come to celebrate my birthday week. The hotel becomes better year by year. This time we were upgraded to the "Alpina Zirbe" room, newly built. What a delight! The quality, taste and presentation of the breakfasts and most of the dinners were also absolutely outstanding, congratulations to Markus the chef! As for the spa & relax area, just perfect, difficult to improve it! Absolutely recommendable! Óscar
Very enjoyable family hotel in a lovely location. Beautiful spa facilities and excellent food and regional wines. Very modern and comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended!
We spent a very nice week in this hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and dinner was amazing thanks to chef Markus. The rooms are nice, modern and big enough for two. We didn’t like the fact that the bathroom didn’t have a door. At least two drawers were missing. We didn’t have enough space for storage. Our room was located above the pool. Nice view but we heard the cars from the road. The room was very hot during the night and the pillows were synthetic (no natural down). No noise from room neighbours. The food in the evening was excellent, though the salad buffet was the same every day. Same as the breakfast buffet: same cake every morning, and no granola. The outside area is very nice. Lots of space to rest and sunbath. Parking is free. We got a very good hiking map on arrival. Spa and pool are very nice and clean. Hotel is located outside the village, but the village is not worth a visit so no regrets.
This was our 6th stay in the hotel, perfect for skiing and trekking. GOOD THINGS: - The location is perfect, fantastic views from almost all rooms - The hotel has been recently expanded and modernised, great award-winning design - The new spa is just perfect, with a fabulous heated open pool - The quality and service of dinner is outstanding, with a great variety of local and international wines. NOT THAT GOOD: - The hotel is overheated, particularly the rooms and restaurant. Maybe 3C less would be healthier and better for the environment? Maybe one last little thing: 4,9€ for the bottle of tap water, seriously?! Otherwise, absolutely recommendable!!
The hotel is situated in a wonderful location, the views from the hotel are amazing. The only small lack was the service at the rsstaurant, it was a little bit confusied and we had to wait quite long time in betwwen the courses. The taste of food was good. Every other things were perfect.
As we opened our new Restaurant Mashery - Hummus Kitchen earlier this year, I've been craving for a relaxed, laid-back time in the mountains to recharge my batteries. And I couldn't have made a better choice than Hotel Pfösl for that. They have renovated the whole place just a couple of weeks before we arrived. So I've seen pictures online but clearly had no notion what would expect me. The first impression already left me speechless. The whole place smells like stone pine and the decoration is stylish yet tasteful. But the room really has been overwhelming. We've booked the "Zirben Suite" which was just built a couple of weeks ago. All the suites do have huge windows with a panoramic view over the mountains. Also, besides the huge, comfortable bed there has been a large sun bed also overviewing the mountains. I could have spent our whole stay just laying there! Mrs. Zelger, one of the owners of the place, took some time and explained, how much thoroughness they've put into the renovation. It has been very important to them, that the modifications would be organic and won't take away the charm and spirit of the place. And they did a damn good job! The concept of living in accordance with nature also extends to the kitchen. At Pfoesl they try to offer regional and seasonal food wherever possible. They even have their own vegetable and herb gardens and for breakfast, they offer tea made from those homegrown herbs which was delicious. In general, the menue has been great and very suitable for vegetarian and vegan needs. There has been an vegetarian or vegan option on the menue every evening and additionally, they offered more possible combinations based on the menue of the evening. Every evening, there has been a wide range of salads offered as a buffet and a three course menue which was served at the table. Also, there have been special events where you could choose from an awesome range of freshly baked bread from the old stone-oven. Also, one detail which I loved in particular was that there has been a juicer so that you could prepare your own fresh juice for breakfast which is the best start to the day. Back home, I've had great plans on how many kilometres I was going to hike each day but all the plans just faded, when I've seen the spa area for the first time. The indoor and outdoor wellness area sums up to unbelievable 2.000 m². This includes an panorama-infinity outdoor-solepool and 8 different saunas. There. I've spent most of my time at Pfoesl but also did some trips to bozen and the Karersee which have been great. All in all, I loved the time at Hotel Pfoesl and I could recommend it for everyone who is searching for nature, relaxation, exceptional staff and great food.
