I recently stayed at The Gilded Iguana and I was blown away by the modern eco friendly amenities, BEAUTIFUL grounds, pool & lush landscape of this tropical oasis! The staff were the absolutel friendliest, kindest and most accomodating of ANY hotel I've ever stayed. Nella at the Spa was amazing, the BEST deep tissue massage I've ever had and I get them regularly in L.A. The front desk, restaurant, servers and housekeeping were incredibly polite & professional and PERSONABLE, always with a smile! I had the privelege of meeting Jeff one of the owners whose vision The Gilded Iguana was and he was incredibly personable & kind and hands on involved in the day to day operations and staff. What a wonderful experience, I can't wait to return!

Standout boutique hotel for anyone looking for that unique, private experience away from hotel chains. Extremely friendly staff, abundant surf/yoga/health/wellness amenities and excellent food on site. The new mixed use (martial arts, free weights, yoga, mountain biking) facility that was added to the property is state-of-the-art (the all glass enclosures give you the air controlled environment with the outdoor, organic feel when training). Additionally, the surf facility on the way to the beach is A+ in terms of board quantity, variety (long boards, short boards, SUPs, skim, soft tops) and check out the balance trainers as well! Also, the rooms are modern, relatively large, have sizable balconies and the beds are comfortable!!

Nosara is the perfect beach town. Very family oriented. Amazing beach break all year round. I have tried almost every hotel in playa guiones and not one of them come has close has the gilded iguana. It’s the best hotel in town, amazing place so close to the beach, amazing staff and amazing accommodation. After more than 10 years of going to Nosara. The gilded iguana is the best thing that this town has seen. It’s the only hotel I would recommend.

What a fabulous stay at the Gilded Iguana. My wife and I took a 5 day escape to Play Guiones and didn't want to leave. The hotel sits 'in town' so is about a 300 meter easy walk straight down the beach. The awesome beach club is on the walk down. We went in low season (rainy season but the weather was quite nice, some rain but not bad) and it was quite mellow. The service was fantastic. Jorge and Irene at the front desk are amazing and will take care of any excursions you'd like to set up and answer any questions with gusto. All of the employees were courteous and helpful. The restaurant staff is attentive and responsive. We loved the breakfast every morning (fresh squeezed OJ!) although it's not 5 star. It's solid and there are plenty of options for everybody (eggs, waffles, smoothie bowls, etc). The rooms are amazing! We stayed in a 'jungle room' and enjoyed the privacy and back-facing sliding door. As the pictures illustrate, it is tastefully built and decorated - lots of bleached teak, concrete, simple lines, just gorgeous. The pool is lovely, plenty of areas to sit and relax. I would think that the pool-facing rooms might be noisier during the high season. The bathroom was huge and very lovely with Nicaraguan tiles and concrete sink basin. Comfy bed, good amenities, closet was giant. Very clean! The grounds are well designed and landscaped, feels lush and welcoming. Keep in mind that Guiones town is undergoing lots of development so there is construction noise but this is not the hotel's fault - although they are completing a yoga center that will be part of the Gilded Iguana right next door - it looks gorgeous. Quick note on the 'beach club' - 10 puntos! Looks like so much fun for kids (TVs, ping pong, slackline, etc), and a great little juice/smoothie bar - the bowls are delicious! We took surf lessons and David and Gabi were excellent instructors and buena onda. If you get a membership you have access to boards (Netflix style, as they say) of all shapes and sizes. Finally, we did get a spa treatment each and the spa was an A+! Attention to detail was fabulous and very clean. We would highly recommend the Gilded Iguana and hope to be back soon!

Terrible service, mosquitos everywhere and they had sold out of bug spray lol. Smoothie was watery, not worth the money. I recommend Bodhi Tree for the best smoothies. I wasn’t impressed with the restaurant employee there with the buzz cut

It’s really an amazing hotel! From the moment we got there we loved the place, it’s beautiful. The restaurant is absolutely delicious, everything we tried was perfect. Also, the staff is so friendly and welcoming :) We will definitely be coming back! It’s the best hotel in Nosara!

It has been almost a year since I stayed here with my son. I think about this place every day and wish I had the means to live at the Gilded Iguana permanently. It has absolutely everything you could want in a hotel and more. This slice of paradise is the best place on earth. Honestly, they need to raise their prices to over 400 dollars per night for the quality that is offered here.

We had a brief one night stay with the Gilded Iguana and it was lovely. The resort is eco-friendly and the included breakfast was wonderful. The room was super-clean, the staff very friendly and nice to deal with.

Nosara has a very laid back, wellness, yoga, surfer vibe and this hotel extremely well placed for the beach (2 min walk) and restaurants. The hotel is very laid back with amazing staff that really can’t do enough for you. The rooms are immaculate and the pool and restaurant are both great. We couldn’t fault it and stayed longer than we intended ... people we spoke to kept returning ..and we would love to. Nosara is very quiet and laid back, with no building on the long surf beach.... if you are looking for something with restaurants and bars on the beach nearby Samara is more lively beach resort ..

Gorgeous bohemian, surfer chic vibe. Short walk to stunning beach and phenomenal surfing. Pool is deluxe. Rooms are comfortable and stylish. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is delicious. Surf Club is totally worth it if you are going to surf. Steps from multiple other restaurants and shopping in North Guiones.
