We booked an overnight stay in anticipation of being able to ski in Willingen, however the snow let us down and we weren't able to do so. One thing that did not let us down, though, was H+Hotel Willingen. We checked in quickly and efficiently. Warm welcome was slightly dulled by the bar in reception that is closed down and not in service. As a party of six we had one family room to sleep four, and a double room. The rooms were warm and spotlessly clean. We had free WiFi, connection was easy and seemed a good speed. There was also a small toy left on the pillow for each child, a lovely gesture. Bathrooms were very modern and well equipped with excellent lighting, magnifying mirror, hairdryer and toiletries. Each room also had a kitchenette, although I didn't realise at time of booking you had to pay extra to use it. It didn't seem worth it to us, only staying one night. You did still have access to the fridge ( great for those travelling with babies, dietary needs, medication etc) and bottled water was provided free of charge. The only downside then being, as there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, we couldn't make a hot drink. That slightly disappointed us but isn't a major issue. And, to be fair, there is a bar and restaurant on site. It would be good to have a hospitality tray, though! We made full use of the hotel leisure facilities and I loved them. The pool/sauna facilities are superb for a relatively small and inexpensive hotel. There are a couple of saunas, steam room, foot baths, relaxation area, mineral water provided. Also a good size pool and individual whirlpools. And again, warm and spotlessly clean. My only dislike was that no additional towels are provided, you are expected to use the ones from your room. Given that we only had one per guest in the bathroom, we didn't think this would work. But reception were happy to give my husband some additional towels and he said they were very helpful....but its worth noting there aren't any down there to use. Also if you want to use the whirlpool you need to prepay a token from reception also. Obviously, its worth knowing this BEFORE you get changed into your costume and ready to use the facilities! Breakfast was excellent, a good range of goods cooked and continental and very relaxed and informal. The views from the restaurant are beautiful, we enjoyed breakfast looking over the hills watching the buzzards dipping in and out of the treetops....a lovely way to start the day! It was all self serve too, so no waiting for coffee or to be seated. We also liked that breakfast is served pretty late, until 10.30 when we stayed, and with checkout not until noon this made for a really relaxed stay. All in all, I'd rate this hotel highly. We loved the location (slightly out of town but completely accessible to all the area has to offer), the cleanliness, the late checkout and the leisure facilities. We liked that the children were very welcome and that we were issued with a Tourist card that got us a discount on many of the areas attractions. A definite bonus given that our original plan, to ski, didn't pan out. We also liked that the hotel has free parking, adjacent. We marked the hotel down slightly for no kettle or hospitality tray, no towels in pool area and bare minimum in room and the fact that there is a bar in reception that was closed and it gave the hotel lobby a slightly 'dead' feel. Also with no kettle in room, it might have been nice to be able to grab a coffee or hot chocolate upon arrival. However, given the price we paid we thought the H+ Hotel offered outstanding value for money and , given the cleanliness and how organised everything is, is obviously being well managed. We would recommend and would book again....we'd just take our travel kettle next time!
The staff are friendly and helpful! We arrived in the evening without making the reservation, and they arrange the room for us efficiently. Luckily, we got a cheaper price online and it's accept. The breakfast was included and awesome! Most of all, the price is very affordable!
Location was ideal, great views and lovely little town. Only stayed for BB as we ate locally, but the breakfast was great. The room was modern clean and large. Swimming pool was clean empty and fun. Just a perfect place and would highly recommend for relaxation.
The hotel has everything you can wish: family rooms for up to 6 persons, great breakfast buffet, wellness (saunas, steam bath, kneip, etc.), a pool, kids-club (not used, kids to old), great to be there. There is only one reason not to give full rating: there is no place where families can sit in the evening without smoking. The reception blamed the law against smoking but I believe that a landlord can decide on his own. They can also keep the bar open at the reception for families with kids. That's why we didn't spend the evenings in the hotel and went out somewhere els. Sorry, not good.
I stayed here with my children in a very big family room. Service was flawless from beginning to end. The room was clean, we had a living room, a little room for the kids and a master bedroom. The bathroom had all the neccessary amenities. Breakfast next morning was really good: Hot and cold choices, fruit, good coffee, hot chocolate for the kids, good service. The wifi was free and worked perfectly. The surroundings are beautiful. There is absolutely nothing to complain about! We will definitely come back!
This is a hotel which seems to reject the idea of "delighting the customer!" The rooms are spacious, the reception were pleasant, the breakfast is marvellous with the best scrambled egg I have ever had in a hotel. The service however is dreadful! In the evening the restaurant was not functioning; we had the choice of a barbecue or nothing; buying a drink at the bar was a painful long drawn out process, friends of ours at the end of our mediocre meal went to get a coffee from the machine which was included in the price - the machine was not working! No problem - a waiter would get them one from the bar! Later on they were handed a bill for the coffees! When we complained to reception, they agreed that this was not good but that was all. Was there a manager? Was anyone running it? I have no idea!!
We stayed for 4 nights, we were surprised because we just booked it for a cheap getaway weekend. We thought it would be alright for the nights and we would just spend the days outside anyway. But it was really nice and the spa was pretty good. They even opened the sauna for us earlier on our last day so that we could use it before we had a late check out! Breakfast was plenty and good with a nice view in the mountains. Rooms are big and recently renewed. Nice place for hiking or skiing in winter time. It was really worth the money!
Booked this hotel via Booking.com due to a course I would take in Willingen. Unfortunately, 15 minutes after the booking the course was rescheduled to a week later, so I contacted the hotel via mail and phone. I booked a non refundable room, so I wanted to find out if there was something that could be done. Phone was not answered and no reply was sent to the 2 mails I sent. I can understand if nothing could be done, but I would at least expect a response.
Big rooms, very suitable for famiies with children. Breakfastbuffet was excellent. Also buffet in the evening was good. Price/quality is good. Swimming pool was ok. I did not use the sauna, but it is also free of charge. Everything was clean. I certainly can recommend this hotel
We booked the hotel as a part of our annual cross country ski tour. We were not dissapointed, and would easily come back here again. Only complaint would be the standard of the rooms, the could use a little extra upgrade, but for the price it was no issue at all! Thanks for a great time.
