The anterior and the design of the hotel is lovely and has this very special style of the 50ees. Unfortunately the rooms are not following the design you could find in the lobby. They were probably renovated at any time in the 90ees and since then nothing had happen. There is almost no light in the rooms and everything looks pretty outdated and shabby. The carpet on the floors is super dirty, the heater makes strange noises. Overall the hotel has a very good basis with it's lovely architecture but there is super urgent a renovation necessary to bring the old design to a new brightness.
This hotel was in a good location for both the Documenta and the conference I was attending in the Kulturbanhof, and was otherwise very good, apart from the breakfast which was over-priced at 12E30, althogh I gather this is standrad piricing for mst hotels. I only had one breakfast, abd dediced not to repeat the experience. Also the room tended to be rather noisy as it was right on the tram line.
This hotel has a distinct 60's feeling hanging over it. Don't expect a shiny new hotel. But we appreciated it for the old decor. The staff was friendly and the family room we had was large enough to relax after walking through the city the whole day. The location is perfect for visiting the centre of Kassel
It is a very good hotel, I just find it a bit expensive (altough I think the prices raised bacause of the Documenta, an art exibition that happens there within every 2 years).
Plus Good central position, linked with the railway station by 3 trams ( 1, 3, 4) - 15 min for the transfer Big room Comfortable bed, clean Good phonic isolation - if you close the windows Minus Basic cosmetics Basic breakfast Absence of air conditioning
Overall this hotel was fine - nothing special. Clean and friendly, but older in style. My description of our room's decor was late Mad Men era. Bathroom was renovated. We stayed one night en route to Berlin so it was perfectly serviceable for our needs. It is a fair distance from Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, definitely not walkable. It is near plenty of restaurants and shares a parking garage with a small mall & grocery.
My company made the booking for me. Hotel needs serious renovation. It must be like this since the 90s. Room was clean and personnel was very welcoming. However although there is a sign in the bathroom saying that towels on the floor will be changed, it took the cleaning lady three days to change them. Rooms have no AC, refrigerator, no slippers and breakfast is charged 12€ extra per day.
The hotel is located in the city near to tram station. Finding a parking place around normally is no issue. Recently there’re some reconstruction works so that space is limited but available. The staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. I was here 2nd time and I would come back again.
Nice place. Used to have fridge in the room but been taken out now and the lady at breakfast makes you feel quite unwelcome Apart from tha great place
Days Inn , Kassel This is a basic hotel, with no frills. Its inexpensive and is located very centrally in the city. The staff are very friendly. There is free wifi. The decor is a bit dated and the bar is very small. The lift is also quite small. I did not eat there so I cannot comment on the food. There are plenty of eateries closeby. The room was adequate with a double bed with two single duvet covers. The bathroom was small, but not too small. My friend got a very big room with a bath for the same price. I suppose its the luck of the draw. If you take trams to and from the railway station pay close attention - there are two; Kassel-Wilhelmshohe and Kassel Hauptbanhof. I found this hotel an excellent location to use as a base. Without any frills, its still a good central, cheaply priced hotel.
