Staff support was lacking. No friendly greeting on arrival. Arrived at 11.30 expecting to have a coffee and until we could order a meal. Was told they didn’t open till 12. Went for a walk to get a coffee. Decided to have lunch and ordered the meal deal with a drink. The lager and cider on the deal weren’t available so was told I had to pay extra for a different cider, which I ended up doing. Breakfast was same. Pre paid for full breakfast which cost us £11.75 each. When in the bar we were given a menu where full breakfast was £8.75each. Was made to feel it was too much trouble for us to have any of the continental options(toast/ jam/ orange juice) when we asked for it. Room was ok apart from shower flooding and not emptying well. No heat in bathroom. Also a lot of dust up high on rafters. Overall staff were unfriendly and unhelpful poor service. Will not return in the future.

Room was very spacious for a single with an ensuite, plus bed was ultra comfy. Lovely little hidden gem and also the breakfast was a good body warmer and hearty stomach filler for a cold Friday morning in December. Will be back to stay here if I’m in the locality

The room was GREAT and good value for money, clean, and parking also. What wasn’t great was the attached pub. 1 staff member, no customers, went down to eat dinner to be told kitchen closed already (6pm). Apparently pub is going through change of ownership? Hotel great, pub not so great.

The staff were great. My room didn't have any hot water for the first day and they worked hard to get it fixed. I was woken up by people being rowdy in the middle of the night the first night which wasn't the best. The breakfast

Nice affordable hotel in an area where there aren’t many options. Rooms are nice and full of character with friendly pub staff. Room could use a little deep clean but overall happy with the stay.

Excellent stay in this beautiful pub. The heart of England staff were very helpful and polite. The room was warm and clean and had everything you needed, the beds were very comfatable . The hotel was very close to the wedding venue that I was attending, only a three minute drive. The breakfast in the morning was lovely. Would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Thank you all for a lovely stay xx.
