stayed for 3 nights Feb 14th to the morning of Feb 17th, could find no fault with this flawless place to stay, great location, warm, clean room, great staff, very good English breakfast, free car park, nice little bar area thats not to pricey and for what you get the room rates must be some of, if not the best in York, if you are coming to York and you choose not to stay here, well i am sorry but you need your bumps felt. this is now the only place for me in York.
B+B York is a fabulous place to stay. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and sparkling clean. We stayed there for my fiance's 50th birthday with our friends and had a lovely time. The breakfast was delicious, staff are very friendly and its only a 10 minute walk from York minster. I dont think you could have a better stay in York for the price and we will certainly be coming back.
Enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay at this B&B which is really more like a boutique hotel. Welcome was great. ..parking was safe and secure and the ground floor room was small but comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating and location good. Breakfasts were fab and service impeccable. Recommended.
A pleasant break away with my boys taking in culture and good food in York. The Groves has always proved a good base and not far from the heart of York. Staff are efficient and friendly. Thank you once again.
I needed a hotel quickly and found this via laterooms. Reviews were good and the price was very reasonable so I went for it. So glad I did! Upon arrival I was checked in and then escorted to my room; checking everything was ok! This personal touch really made a difference and the breakfast next morning was delicious too! When I asked if I could stay a little longer to do some work, this wasn't a problem either - more smiles! Highly recommended (and just a ten minute walk from the City, though I didn't get to venture in.)
Great B + B, good location within walking distance of the city walls and train station. Great service and lovely staff. Do try to walk as traffic so bad £7 for taxi each way and less than an mile easily walked
We picked the B&B, because it was near the city centre and had car parking on site. The reports I had read were not wrong. It was excellent. The staff particularly Paul on reception were friendly and helpful. Our room 26 was lovely and spotless at the front of the B&B. Breakfast was cooked fresh, delicious, varied and plentiful. We will stay again next time we visit York.
I was after a simple B&B near to York city centre, clean, well presented but reasonably priced. After some research, B+B York seamed to fit the bill. Ten minutes walk from the City walls and Fifteen from the Minster, it is an ideal base. A guest car park which is free for your stay is a bonus, as parking in and around York can be costly. The B+B itself is a beautiful Victorian detached house with some additional buildings to the rear, Our room and what we saw of the buildings all seemed to be of a high standard. All the staff we engaged with were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The full English breakfast was spot on, with no issues at all . So to some up, if you want a clean, cosy, welcoming B&B close to York city centre, look no further.
The B&B is exactly that. It's welcoming, friendly and we had a comfortable room. The breakfast for me was perfect as I had an English-style breakfast....cooked to perfection. However, my travel companions asked for a continental -style breakfast. Although it looked nice it was short of savoury foods and especially cheese. The coffee was good quality. It was only a 10 minute walk to York minster situated in a very nice part of town. Recommended.
This is smaller and much less impersonal than a hotel, but with everything you need for a good break. Our room was in York House, the annex, across the car park. It was large and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and as much tea, coffee, fruit juice as you want. Also complimentary bottles of water. There is a small bar selling very reasonably priced drinks. The centre of York is only a 20 min stroll away, with an abundance of pubs, restaurants and places of interest.
