Spent 2 nights at this hotel., and would certainly recommend it for food, service, cleanliness. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Ample parking on site within the hotel grounds. Nothing adverse to say about it.

Stayed for two nights . Easy to find rooms comfortable with plenty of room and had a good nights sleep as early starts to the international Dressage at Boleswoth Castle staff friendly . Rooms could proberbly do with a refurbishment

We stayed for an overnight after going to Chester Zoo for the day. We found the room to be very basic, and expected more based on the price. We also found the bed very uncomfortable. Staff were friendly though.

Having stayed here before this was the perfect place to stay to end a trip to Chester. In a different room to our last stay but again this room had no faults , other than needing air con as it was so hot . Love this hotel so much we've booked a long weekend here in August .

We had booked afternoon tea for 2p.m. we were running late so I phoned and spoke to a very nice person who told us not to worry all would be waiting for us. On arrival we were offered drinks to slake our thirst before receiving our afternoon tea. Andrei our waiter was very attentive, polite and friendly, but not overly. We had a delicious tea with lovely fresh sandwiches - my only negative was the beef sandwiches came ready spread with mustard which I dislike. My friend had these! The cakes were delicious as was the scones, jam and clotted cream. All in all a delightful time spent at Holt Lodge. The whole place looked clean, fresh and inviting. The toilets were also clean showing good management throughout the hotel. Thank you .

Stayed here for one night with work. Staff were all super friendly. Pretty sure each and every one of them went above and beyond our expectations. Maybe that's due to the updating they are currently doing as a distraction. Looks great so far. Stayed for dinner and breakfast, both nice, plenty of choice. Blind doesn't work too well - room 106. But otherwise no complaints would stay again, the garden patio area is lovely.

Visited here last Sunday for a Sunday Calvary with family Was very nice & the service was exceptional, extremely nice staff. Would definitely visit again It's also a Hotel, Bar with plenty of parking Thought the Calvary a little pricy But new to the area

We had an overnight stay here whilst passing through the area. The hotel is a great price but you really do pay for what you get. The decor is very tired and could do with some serious refurb but never the less it was adequate. The staff were brilliant though and the food was good, though we only ate breakfast, which was cooked in the kitchen to order which meant you got freshly made food rather than food which had stewed under a hot lamp. Would certainly recommend as a value for money venue.

Gets 3 stars for hotel and very good staff. Afternoon tea for two (not with wine) was disappointing as sandwiches were really small and cakes were 6 little (and I mean little) tray bake squares (3 each) that were too sweet and rather plain and boring. Scone was ok with clotted cream and jam - one each. Welsh food center is still the best afternoon tea. Shame as meals are very good. Maybe hotel should stick to meals and weddings.
