Me and my wife have stayed here for 1 night on Saturday 22nd April. The guy at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The bartender offered us a refreshing fruit juice coctail upon arrival. We were able to park the car in front of the hotel. We have booked a room a the pool ground floor. The lady from housekeeping was kind to show us around the room and opened the minibar for us. All good, only the room was very outdated, quite dirty and didn't smell nice. I don't expect this hotel didn't have any upgrades/updates since it was build. The breakfast was good and professional. All in all, a good 2-3 star hotel, where the major room for improvements is the hotel room and overall cleaness (i.e. pool area). The location of the hotel is not great (on top of a hill and outside of Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo. If you are going to this hotel, I recommend having dinner at the nearby restaurant Coco Loco (at the Flamingo Beach road). Their food is very very good at low prices!
This place was a nice first stop for us on our vacation! The hotel is situated on a cliff with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was very kind and helpful, the included breakfast was delicious. The property was very pretty and the private beach was a nice plus! Saw some tropical fish and a jelly fish (careful!) Snorkeling. The only thing was the shower was broken. Still functioning but the head was just lying on the floor of the tub. The staff didn't seem to care much when I mentioned it upon checkout. It's a nice place for a tourist area and you're on somewhat of a budget.
We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. Every morning at the breakfast, we enjoyed spectacular panoramic views. The lay out of this resort is fantastic. We liked short walks, spectacular views, and very relaxing music. Yes, there are many stairs, but this is the price you pay for the beautiful vistas. Staff is very friendly, good breakfast, renovated rooms, and quiet relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed early morning runs to beautiful white sandy Flamingo Beach. This is great value hotel. We recommend this place for quiet and relaxing vacation.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is on the smaller side (I'd guess about 50 rooms) and it is located in a very quiet part of Flamingo Beach. The hotel is built on the side of a cliff and to get to the semi-private beach, you have to go down some steep stairs. The beach is very nice with soft sand and easy waves. The views from the hotel are beautiful. There is no elevator but rooms are available that wouldn't require stairs. There is a casino but I never saw anyone in there so it didn't create a lot of noise. I would stay here again.
We booked this hotel for one night for our trip around Costa Rica. Hotel is going through owner and management change, so some work and renovation is happening on it’s territory and inside (as we were told by staff). Well, what I can say – I think it’s getting better! Here what we liked and not liked about this hotel. What we liked: - Nice territory (layout) with ocean view. - Personnel are very friendly and willing to help. - Nice large well decorated room. - Nice quiet small private beach. - Not busy area but still easy access to street malls. What we didn’t like: - Since work is happening right now, territory and interiors are not always cleaned. - Breakfast is so-so, not many choices. So it’s a nice hotel, and there is a room for improvement. It does have potential and it would be interesting to stay there after renovation is completed.
Great place to stay for folks that do not want allot of people or noise. Which we do NOT want. Stairs to rooms give you a good workout... short walk to town and good food places. Short walk to the Best Beach around- Playa Flamingo!
This hotel is first class! The rooms are reasonable, food is great, staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are being upgraded with new bedding, flat screen tv's, internet access and are spotlessly clean. The view is magnificent and it is a walk away from the beach. This is THE place to stay when visiting Flamingo Beach.
We are actually currently staying right now. We checked in on Friday and leave Thursday. Let's start with the pros: *the view is AMAZING. The most breathtaking that we've ever seen. *very relaxing. No pressure compared to bigger resorts who haggle you to do tours. You are totally left to yourself. *the staff are really really nice. *the food is great *beach is beautiful Now to the some of the cons *STAIRS:this is not a place to go if you are deterred by a workout. Our room was further down which is a hike and to get the beach there are lots and lots of STAIRS. *theres no entertainment. It didn't bother me but it was different from previous vacations. *food takes a long time to come. If you aren't use to that it can be bothersome. *just note that this place is over an hour from the airport in Liberia. *no snacks in gift shop. If you want something peaceful and relaxed then stay here. If you want something live and youthful then don't stay here.
Worth the long trip from San Jose.. Such a beautiful place to stay! Wonderful staff to help you with anything, good bar tender, great service .. Stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights and had so much fun! The panoramic view is breath taking! Definitely, we will be back this summer... Kudos! for they have a great service!
We have just stayed 1 wk here at Paradise Flamingo Beach Hotel. The breakfast patio & restaurant view is unbelievable, with always ocean going activities to see & the Portreo Bay Marina next door. The main structure sits high on a point of land. The next best feature is the warm & helpful staff, Roberto at the main desk had only been on staff for one month & he is busy working with new trends in Sustainable Tourism, to take this establishment's potential & turn it into something spectacular. We also enjoyed speaking with Marlon & Jwataf at the bar etc. also Guecelle oversaw the housekeeping & checked with us to assure we were looked after. Housekeeping on our ground-level "Garden view" were excellent. There were no Ocean Views available on arrival & poolside might be a little noisy for oldsters. The pool is small but it was good to see kids enjoying themselves & local families together. It was 8 flights from our level to the breakfast patio, so don't book here if you need an elevator. We also parked our rental car down a steep narrow road at this level. The steps down to the beach are from here. We tried snorkeling on this beautiful little bay, but winds have been high 30-40kph so the waters were cloudy. The sand is grey white & volcanic black. It's a long walk down & up so if you need close proximity to a beach, pick elsewhere. The breakfasts were good, typical Tico & with nice local fruit, inc. Breakfast staff was always friendly & efficient. PF Beach Hotel is busy with improvements, new beautiful potted plants & building new palm covered shade areas. Inexpensive stay at $74 US/night. Lots of appeal to families & it was nice to see beautiful children having fun in the pool. The observation deck is awesome to view from. If you don't eat again at the hotel, there are lots of restaurants minutes away. We had Veggie Burgers once & they were good in flavour & value. We wish PF Beach Hotel all of the best on their improvement plans. Like we said to Roberto, please don't turn it into a five star as we wouldn't be able to afford to return. We look forward to hearing about the future improvements. Thx for the stay! Ron & Peggy from Vancouver Canada.
