Hotel Coco Palms

Rare indeed. The owners and staff make you so much a part of the Palms equation, you really believe you are suppose to be there. John is, and should be considered an integral part of Global Unity, a must meet cultural icon, and his wife Savannah, is tied for the iconic title. For the Colon conscious traveler, lodging is beyond reasonable. The Americano breakfast is Sunday at your grandmothers. After myriad trips, even property ownership, I would be the first to admit, it is worth a stop over even if your destination is Tamarindo, or any costal hamlet, one could justify the thirty or so minute drive, and make it your base for exploring the better part of the all of Guanacaste Province. What ever you do,make sure you strike up a conversation with JOHN>

I spent 4 nights and 5 days at this property (4-6 to 4-10). The hotel is located a few short steps from the beach and within walking distance to everything in coco (bars, shops, restaurants). There is also a small casino in town. The hotel was great. The staff was excellent. The rooms are very basic.I really didn't spend much time in the room.Only to sleep. The pool area is very nice. The food at the hotel was great. I tried breakfast ,lunch and dinner there. All were excellent. The sushi was great. I also booked a fishing trip through the hotel. It was great. I brought some of the fish back to the hotel and they cooked it up for me. I will return to this hotel and i recommend it to anyone traveling to Coco.

The hotel has certainly figured out how to make customers happy and ensure a good stay. The room was a comfortable temperature when we arrived, something we didn't experience elsewhere in the country. Rooms are clean, the bathrooms have hot water and it's overall very comfortablr. The pool is clean, ad is the whole pool area, and it's a great place to spend the hotest hours of the day. The food is delicious and while a bit pricier than we'd expected, it seems in line with Playa del Coco ad a whole. All of the employees are friendly and helpful, but two in particular provided exceptional customer service. Maria was so helpful at the front desk, answering our many questions about how to get places. Adrian in the bar was very friendly. Both went above and beyond to make us have a great stay.

A group of 4 family members stayed here for 4 nights. The highlight was the exceptional service we received from the staff as soon as we walked in the door. I felt at the end of our stay we were leaving some family behind. The food was great our 50 piece Sushi Boat was gone in a matter of minutes. It was wonderful just walking out my room and lounging on the comfy lounge chairs drinking my coffee, watching the birds in the fountain and listening to the Howler Monkeys anytime during the day. The only issue was our AC quit working. I misunderstood when they said we could move rooms on our last night..I thought they wanted us to move everything..Nope, they just wanted to move out bodies! My bad...They speak pretty good English and have good ideas on what to do. The owner is from Canada and has owned it for 13 years. They are all about what your needs are. Thank you Hotel Coco Palms. I stayed here during March break and had the best time of my life! The hotel is beautiful and filled with lovely staff. The owners John and Savanna are the nicest people you will ever meet ! In addition to the bartenders who became like family to me! The beach is a 30 second walk from the hotel and there are many places to go and eat or get drinks and go shopping! In addition, the food at the hotel is incredible, they have a huge variety, would highly recommend.

We had a reservation in Savannah and Johns other hotel but Savannah suggested that since we were staying for the 12 nights we could come to Coco Palms. This hotel seemed like luxury to us frugal travellers. We had the choice of 3 rooms but we took the room upstairs with a balcony to the front street. Savannah warned us it can be noisy but we wanted our early morning coffee and evening drinks to be on the deck. Couple of ear plug nights but we had a great time. Great pool, great food and drinks in the outdoor restaurant beside the pool. nice little garden area to sit in the shade. Very close to everything which is good as we walk everywhere. Half block to the beach. Very accommodating owners, if you need something, just ask.

This hotel had every amenity we needed!! Restaurant and market located at the hotel. It was nice at anytime of the day to sit around the pool or in the open restaurant located pool side. The owners, Johnny and Savannah and their staff were very friendly and accommodating. Anything we needed, they helped arrange from the tour guide, Juan Carlos, who was the best, to making dinner reservations at The Outlook (definitely recommend)!! We stayed in a jr suite and it was just the right size, with mini kitchen and sitting area. I would highly recommend this hotel.

During our 16 days in Costa Rica, this was the least value for the price paid for accommodations. The staff was amazing and friendly, the pool was very nice along with the patio, but the rooms were lacking. They face the road and tend to be somewhat loud. The A/C units are wall mounted and blow very loudly and at only one speed. At least there was A/C however; otherwise it would have been misery! The room we had for 4 people and a baby (we asked for their biggest room) was tiny with a bunkbed that creaked insanely. No one slept that night. I think for the area that it's a good deal, but I was overall underwhelmed. I think if I was here to party, I wouldn't mind, but we were looking for a more family friendly place.

Crazy delicious food! Rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the hotel is so close to the beach. The pool section is beautiful. It has various seating areas which made it easy for us to visit with other tourists or we could sit in a quietier area and read a book. Met a lot of people, different ages, from multiple countries. Night life was just a block away. Yes, we had so much fun! We rented a car but only used it 4 times in the 10 days we stayed. Because of this hotels convenient location, we walked everywhere. They also have a well stocked 24 hour store, so if you need anything in the middle of the night. The staff was amazing. Adrian's drinks were to die for and Veronica assisted us with whatever we needed, she was very knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. Sweetest Girl! We will definitely be coming back here, 10 days wasn't enough.

For us, the Coco Palms was an ideal location in Playa del Coco - next door to the beach and just around the corner from downtown. Rooms were basic but clean and had a microwave and refrigerator, which we seem to find necessary when we travel. No coffee maker, but we used the microwave to heat water and had instant coffee. (Sorry to admit that in Costa Rica, where the coffee is OUTSTANDING!). Staff was pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The restaurant and pool area is a little slice of heaven!
