The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. The premises are very well kept and tastefully done with a Caribbean flair. Unfortunately, the beach is black sand and not very inviting. There are nice beaches close by so if you have a car, that should not be a problem. The staff is very helpful and super nice. The food is standard.

Terrible road.Poor breakfast.Check in works only until 10 p.m.If you have noisy drunk neighbors you can nothing to do.

Far away from busy tourist areas, but limited services. About 25 km of un paved road to get there. Nice setting on a beautiful isolated beach. Only problem is so many mosquitoes and need lots of bug spray. Going in slow season, you almost have the place to yourself. Food was outstanding, probably the best mahi I’ve had in over 12 years of coming to CR.

Wonderful place to stay, Great staff, delicious food. Infinite pool and Jacuzzi are amazing!

There are amazing things about this place and things that could be supplemented to make it a Five Star resort. There’s basically no upkeep on anything so for a place that’s five years old there are parts that look 20 years old. If this was fixed and an upgrade on the beach chairs it would be UNREAL.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The rooms are really nice, comfortable and clean. All the staff was really friendly and happy to help with anything at all. The setting was gorgeous. Black sand beach(yes it gets very hot during the day, but sunset time was perfect), really nice pool, flowers evrywhere, colorful birds, mango trees, iguanas. Very relaxing setting. The road to Azul beach club was an adventure in itself with the last hour being on a dirt road. Glad we had a 4x4 to explore the area a bit. The restaurants at the beach club were very good although a bit pricey, service was always extremely friendly. There is not much around the hotel itself. One village a few kilometers away made for a nice walk up the beach and a change of venue for lunch. We enjoyed ourselves so much we changed our flight and stayed 2 ore nights! Bottom line is this is a great hotel on a gorgeous beach, but not too much to do around it without driving for quite a ways on some extremely bumpy dirt roads.

This resort/hotel is only for certain people. The location is very remote, 1 1/2 hour drive on gravel roads, 2 1/2 hours from Liberia. We booked round trip transportation from the airport through the resort. Upon arrival, our ride was not there. We had to arrange another ride with a taxi company to get there. Then when we finally got to the resort after a long, very uncomfortable ride in a small car we were forced to pay the driver with cash ($150 + tip) because he could not get internet on his credit card machine. The resort told us they only had two cars available to them and one was on the other side of the country and the other one was broken down. They did not try to contact us. At minimum, they should have arranged an alternate. They should have paid for the taxi and added it to our bill. Lesson learned, we should have rented a car for the week. Because of the remoteness of this resort, without a car, you are stranded at the resort. The resort is very small and besides relaxing poolside or eating in one of the two restaurants, there is not much to do. We also went the first two days with sporadic hot water. After several complaints we finally were able to get a maintenance man to our room who explained that if we want hot water, we need to turn on the bathroom sink and shower and let them both run at the same time. Now we had hot water, sometimes scalding, sometimes still cold but no water pressure.

This is a fantastic choice if you're looking for secluded peaceful getaway I highly recommend this place. I highly suggest renting an all terrain vehicle to make getting around easier. The staff was great ❤️❤️

Only one complaint: the roads. The roads were awful on the entrance to the hotel. We were in a small car and was hard to navigate. Other then that everything was fantastic!

Secluded resort, away from the crowded city of Tamarindo. You'll need a car if you want to go anywhere. Not a lot of activities, but the staff and the atmosphere is amazing. Very relaxing and the people go above and beyond what's expected.
