My husband and I (mid 30s) just got back from staying at the Barcelo Aruba. The hotel is in a great location right outside the downtown area with all shops, bars, and restaraunts. The hotel is clean and the beach is beautiful. The pool bar had a great vibe with good music and drinks were great. The nightly entertainment was also great! Live nightly singer in the lounge followed by a live band or performance show in the ballroom. The buffet was fine for breakfast and lunch but the restaraunts on site were not very good, by day 3 we were going out to dinner. Overall good experience!!

The pool had limited chairs and had no place to sit... The pool/Towel lady ( chuuby with Braded red hair) was rude and you can tell hates her job . The food int he buffet was always cold and under cooked . The deserts were frozen and shipped in ( not home made) The buffet was the same every day with no variety and food was way below average. When I got there I had the worst room and was told NO upgrade was available after letting the front desk manager know I have been at this hotel many times years ago and even got married there 7 yrs ago,,, Then to be approched by a bell hopp who got me a upgraded room . I guess he was able to pull some strings . Terrble experence and will not be back

I WAS SICK FROM THEIR FOOD FOR ONE COMPLETE DAY AND HAD TO REMAIN IN MY ROOM WITHOUT MEDICAL ASSISTANCE! ** ALSO HAD TO AWAKEN BETWEEN 4AM AND 5AM TO " SAVE A CHAIR NEAR POOL AND BEACH"!!! IT WAS LIKE A CHEAP MOTEL!! IF YOU DIDN'T SAVE YOURSELF A CHAIR AT POOL OR BEACH "THEY HAD NONE TO GIVE YOU!!" FIRST DAY: NO HOT WATER!!!! TOOK MAINTENANCE 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE EACH DAY MAIDS WERE SO SLIW CLEANING ROOM I HAD TO STAY OUT OF ROOM PAST 4PM ALTHOUGH I GOT UP VERY EARLY!!! I'M DONE WITH ORBITZ!! AND IM WRITING REVIEWS ABOUT ORBITZ, UNITED, AMERICAN, BARCELO ARUBA CITING HOW TERRIBLE AND DISGUSTING EVERYTHING WAS!!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo. The staff was extremely friendly and Aruba is a great place to vacation in general. I thought the breakfast choices were a little slim because the buffet is the only option. And getting a chair for the pool was probably the worst part because you need to go put towels on chairs at 6am or you won’t get a spot. But if you are beach people you don’t have to worry about it because they have endless chairs at the beach. Besides those two things we had a great vacation and lots of fun

Can’t say enough good things about the staff, from the second the doormen great you, fantastic. As well as housekeepers, bartenders to managers. Super friendly and personable. They make the hotel better. Rooms are good enough. Can get loud though sometimes depending where your room is located. Food is ok. Breakfast and lunch buffets are fine.

Need more vegan options for people.

Service is bad

From the moment we got there the front staff were unfriendly. We did not get the room paid for we’re stuck with 1 bed pool room. The management said room will be ready in day or two never was. The food was inedible we had to pay for outside food even though was all inclusive. Our house cleaning never once cleaned our room so we basically slept in sand for 5 days. The towel staff were rude and so mean so many days couldn’t get fresh pool towels. We have stayed at Barcelo before this is not up To standard.

This property is dated and it shows. The only pro is that it is located in an area where there are lots of shopping restaurants and nightlife right outside the resort. The rooms are old and moldy. The first room we were given had a huge bump surrounded by areas of mold in the ceiling. It turned out to be a water leak cause by what seems to be due to an extreme condensation problem. We winded up spending the first night there because we didn’t notice the leak and the amount of mold right away. We had just arrived and it was late so we pretty much just ate, showered and went to sleep. Also, a key card had to be installed into this mechanism on wall in order to turn the lights on. We were then offered another room which had a very loud AC so we refused. We then switched to a room which was better but still a bit dated and had mold in the sink and various other areas. The faucet was also not properly installed over the sink which made it difficult to use and caused the water to run off onto the countertop. The AC was also bit loud (though not as bad as the second room) which turned out to be a blessing in some way because it helped drown out the loud music that could be heard at night. I’m a light sleeper so it wasn’t great. The food and entertainment are mediocre compared to all the other all inclusive resorts we stayed at. This place needs a major overhaul on the rooms and is definitely at the bottom of our list.

Great location. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants across the street. Felt very safe.

I will definitely be coming back with my entire family! This hotel is very clean and the hotel staff are excellent! The restaurant are goods and the activities are endless! 6 nights just wasn’t enough time to do all I wanted so I’ll be back Barcelo Aruba! Thank you all!!

This All-inclusive said kayaking, pool tables, and other water sports were included but weren’t. Couldn’t book restaurants they were all reserved and had limited hours. Small food portions, no place for breakfast/lunch other then buffet. People put towels on pool chairs for hours but weren’t there so couldn’t use. Got into argument about pool chairs due to being inconsiderate of everyone else trying to use chairs but not being able to. Staff unaware of daily activities. Overall disappointed because paid a lot but didn’t have options listed. It wasn’t worth all inclusive. Some live music good but too short. Events finished too quick (less then 1/2 hour). Next time I won’t be going here but instead book a hotel and then go to my restaurant of choice. Best food we had was at wacky wahoo of course not at hotel or all inclusive.

The staff was extremely rude and the food was awful.

I wished it had more space outside and better food and the sitting area it was to cool

Liked the pool & how close it was to the beach. What i didn't like was we could only have 4 bottles of water a day in our room. This should not be an issue at an all inclusive. We are not drinkers so they saved alot of money!!!

Overall a very nice experience. Only issue the food in their restaurants was not bad but could have been better
