Cottage on the water with a sailboat dock. Dock damaged and unusable from a storm 2:years ago Room temperature was 86 degrees and host told us that if we tried to make it cooler the air conditioner would freeze up. Sewer system was faulty so you had to use the toilet "sparingly". Could not flush toilet paper down toilet so you had to use a rigged up bidet or put toilet paper in a bag and dispose of it in the trash. TV w used an Amazon stick supposedly but we couldn't get a signal so no TV. We loaded our belongings back in our vehicle and went and found another place to stay. Contacted owner of the property about a refund and she, Lucy, never responded. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this property as you can.

Lovely little getaway

This cute little bungalow was just what we were looking for. Easy access to beaches and dining, great outdoor spaces for sun or shade. Lucy was so easy to work with and has a fun eclectic style.

Awesome!

We enjoyed our stay! The owner, Lucy is friendly, accommodating and professional. Our bungalow was comfortable and supplied us with everything needed! Loved sitting by the dock, very relaxing. Our small dog was happy in the safe fenced in patio area. Beautiful area for our daily walks! It was a perfect memorable vacation!

Enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I (both 70+) stayed 4 nights here. Accommodations very comfortable for the two of us, well-appointed, (extra hats!) organized and cozy. Especially nice if the weather is warm, since dining is outside. Lucy is the best! On hand for everything that comes up. Ease of parking and lots of drawers are a big plus. Terrific neighborhood for enjoying the waterfront, spots to eat and explore. Not sure why they list the sailboat dock since its not useable - the cottage itself is quite nice.

The title is misleading

Owner has this listed as “Cottage on the Bay with Sailboat Dock” and it is THE reason we chose to stay here. However the last hurricane (15 months ago!) took out this dock. Although she has a grassy area to sit by the water it was very dirty from debri and weather. She did bring out new chairs but sitting in that area and the vegetation surrounding it blocked the water view. The TV’s only work one at a time (living area OR bedroom, not both). The cottage is not big enough to entertain friends. Seating for two only (not that we planned to but in case you want to… don’t) The toilet overflowed after normal use. The shower leaks. The bed was extremely uncomfortable for me however that really is based on the individual. This is only the 2nd rental we’ve done … is it normal for the host to keep her personal belongings in it? I don’t know but it made me feel like I was visiting a distant relative with a room to share. That being said, she did explain that she sometimes stays in it when the main house is rented. Also, because of the few annoyances… she offered us the main house to stay and she would switch. We thought that was very kind of her to offer but we did not take her up on it. The owner is very nice but the bottom line is, I was very disappointed with no dock (as my trip involved a whole day mostly staying on site for work related reasons— I’d hope to sit by the water at least that day) The rest boils down to “you get what you pay for”

Nice time in Nokomis

What a wonderfully cozy spot in Nokomis. The apartment was well appointed and a great location for us as we wanted to be close to Venice beaches and restaurants. Lucy was easy to get in touch with and very accommodating to our needs.

Beau spot on the Bay

Lucy was a lovely host and most gracious...we loved our little cottage on the Roberts Bay...5 min walk to dive shop and just overall a great experience and adventure!! Can't wait to go back!! Thankyou Lucy for being such a lovely host😊👍

Cute cottage

We came up from Cape Coral on our boat. The dock can use some TLC but it works. Was nice to be able to tie up there. The cottage was cute and had everything we needed. Lucy was responsive and accommodating. We'd stay again.

Excellent stay in Nokomis

Our host Lucy was supreme above and beyond. She went out of her way with hospitality for us and our dog Barney. We will definitely consider staying here again. Great location. Size of cottage was perfect for a couple and yard space great for dog.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star

By FAR the WORST “vacation” we’ve ever been on. The property manager LUCY is rude and likes to belittle her guests by talking to you as if you’re uneducated. The place was not cleaned before our arrival. LUCY tells you to “read the fine print” on the ad before booking. The “fine print” does not mention that although you have a oven and dishwasher, you aren’t not allowed to use them. You also cannot flush the toilet with toilet paper in it, you can only flush if you have a bowel movement. The “air conditioning” is a window unit set at 78° that cannot be adjusted. The ceiling fans cannot be adjusted to cool you off either. Also, this “cottage” is a building the the back yard with a padlock on the slider that you enter. There are broken tiles in the shower “fixed” with silicone that is peeling up too. She does like to continuously mention that it is a pet friendly property, I guess that’s suppose to make up for everything else. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway this “cottage” is definitely not it.
