Nice Art Hotel - Hostel0.0 out of 5.0

One night was one night too many. Emotions ranged from shock and disgust through to resignation and relief when we left. The bed was comfortable and clean but everything else was dirty and/or broken. We might have expected this if we'd paid half the price. Fatigue was the only reason why we didn't walk straight out. The hotel/hostel is unstaffed at night and we didn't feel safe. Frankly this hotel should be closed down by the authorities before it burns down.
The pictures we saw on the internet were nice but I was shocked when I arrived. The room was dirty, looks very cheap and the shower only had cold water. The wifi wasn't working all the time and when it was working the connection was poor. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to stay here while visiting Nice...
One would expect a little bit of art in an Art Hotel! Not here but if you like cheap IKEA furniture in grubby rooms with inexplicable red lights this is for you. On complaining about conditions the manager appeared from next door, the Best Western Hotel who obviously hadn't set foot in the place before and initially seemed shocked at the price fog what was being offered. A midnight fire alarm was not appreciated especially as there is NO staff at night!
Me and my bf stayed in a private room for two nights.Bathroom was inside but it was just a section separated from room with a small wall. The ceiling of the bathroom don't exist which means when you take a shower or use the toilet all the steam and the smell is still inside the room. And it was old building so all the pipes were old and there were some insects around..we said It's ok, at least we had a bath inside the room.... BUT: There were a lot of MOSQUITOES!!! The first night we killed 8 mosquitos and 3 Insects!!! The second night 3 mosquitos even though we didn't open the window. Don't open the windows bcos there is a lot of mosquitoes. When we said it to the reception, she even said "yeah they are a problem", but they don't do anything for it. Also, the walls of the room is covered with killed animals blood.disgusting.. Moreover, there was supposed to be air conditioning in the room. Yes, there was but we don't if it was working bcos the remote control of the air conditioner was without batteries !!! and since the reception is closed after 7pm , we cudnt ask any battery! In addition to all above, hotel smells full of moist. It's another problem. So, pay little more to other hotel and enjoy your stay properly. We did a mistake, we suggest you not to do the same.
Terrible .. Avoid it.. Very expensive compared to what you get.. Not very safe .. No wifi on rooms... Same price you can get a good hotel.. Shower are a disaster.. When I arrived no one on the reception I have to go to next hotel so some one give me keys.
good hotel for money you pay. In nice location.not a far from promenade, and arounded with many restaurants and bars in quite streets, this clean and peaceful hotel is very lovely place for one,or two days of staying.friendly staff, and decent rooms.all what you need to enjoy this mediterranean city.
first my check-in i came after 3 pm - the room was not ready i got key of dirty room only after 4 pm my room became enough clean the wi-fi works only at reception very bad conditions for shower door of shower cabine is not good - so all water was on the floor, even under my bed ((( I wasted 3 towels to make the floor dry ... the wall of room is so thin, that u can hear everything the water in toilet from any other room is ur daily sound there is no lift and so many upstairs its not good to live even on the 2 floor there is no 24 hours reception - caz so strange people stay there thks God it was only one last night before my flight
The showers in this place are absolutely disgusting. I honestly believe that it is a health hazard and should be shut down. There are no windows and so there is some kind of mould all over the walls, ceiling and door from the water and humidity. The toilets do not have seats on them. The pictures online are not a true representation of the property. The only positive is that the room itself is clean.
Do not stay at this hotel!! It is by far the worst hotel I have ever encountered!!! The day after we arrived, we went on a day trip and came back to money had been stolen from our room, not small either, 700 euros to be exact. A speaker had been stolen also.. Two days later our friends in another room had both of their bags stolen.. Everything gone!!!! Laptops, clothes, passport, ID's, Tickets to events and everything! Such a disappointment!!! We had talked to the office and they do not do anything. They don't help at all!!!! All we can say it comes down to that the thefts have something to do with the cleaners, it's an inside job done by the dodgy cleaners 100%!!!!! Do not stay here!!
Having booked some months ago in preparation for attending Euro 2016 and having read subsequent reviews I admit to arriving with some trepidation. I stayed for 4 nights and as each day passed I realised the place was not as bad as the picture some of these reviews had painted. The cleaner was present daily and my bed was changed everyday. I shared with a fellow who had been living there for some weeks, the reception was open from 8am until about 6pm and outside those times you check in at the Best Western Hotel next door. A staff member from there also helped me when I had trouble with my room key. The lady running the hostel was welcoming and spoke good English. A basic breakfast is available at 3.5 Euro or there are cafes within 5 minutes walk where you can get a decent French breakfast in the sun for 7-9 Euro The people living in the area can be seen as intimidating but nobody approached me during my stay. This certainly would not be my first choice of somewhere to stay but if you are on a budget this certainly is not the worst place in the world
