Hotel Kyriad Nice Gare

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Kyriad for 3 nights. We chose the hotel for it's decent price (AU$85 per night) and somewhat central location after seeing good reviews. As we knew, the hotel is by no means in the centre of the action in Nice ie close to the beach, Place Messena or the bustling old town. It is located at the end of Jean Medicin avenue (main street in Nice and main shopping area) right near the train station. It was about a 1.5km walk down the avenue to the beach and old town which we didn't mind but it may bother others. There is a tram stop right outside the hotel for those not willing to walk however we didn't use it. As with many areas around train stations it wasn't the nicest neighbourhood with a few odd characters hanging around outside the hotel however we didn't feel unsafe during our stay. The hotel lobby is nice and well presented. Our room was quite small and dated with a large bathroom (probably three-quarters the size of the room itself) and a small balcony overlooking the tram station. The carpet was disgusting with stains all over it, so I wore socks or shoes the whole time. The bathroom door did not close properly and was all chipped and dicintegrated. The shower was over the bath and did not have a screen so the water went all over the floor each time it was used. It also didn't drain properly. In terms of positives the bed was quite comfy and the doona was nice and soft. The wall/ceiling/floors are not sound proof and we heard distant voices and banging and crashing from all angles at all times of the day and night. There is also a bit of noise from the street and of course the train station but the double glazed glass doors did a decent job of blocking out this noise. It's probably a case of you get what you pay for, with Nice being an expensive city, however we usually stay at hotels of the standard when we travel and found it to be the most disappointing of our trip around Europe.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The room was great and the hotel was in a good location. My watched some South African sport in the room and that was great seeing as we are from South Africa and the hotel showed it on their TV. Breakfast was good.

We arrived here late at night - getting here was relatively easy off bus from airport and short walk from station or tram. Check in was quick and staff polite and helpful - even provided me with a plug adaptor when realised I forgot mine. Room on the 4th floor facing train station - this was a quiet well sized room with everything we needed within. Room had excellent air conditioning which kept the room cool. There was no noise from the busy street outside and would say the room was ideal. Bed was very comfortable. Only small issue was the shower head which was loose and would lower during showering. Breakfast was decent and set us up for the day (12 Euro each). Location - perfect for us as we were looking for a base to explore - 15 min walk to beach (2 mins by tram at 1 Euro 50). 2 Min walk to train station which is excellent for travelling across the region. Trams on doorstep and bus to airport outside. There are also a couple of small supermarkets next door. The main shopping street - you're pretty much on it. At check out we had a long wait for flights so we were able to leave bags in a store at the reception free of charge. All in all a perfect budget hotel in a good location we certainly didn't need any more, thanks to all at Kyriad.

This hotel is located near Nice Vile Station and close to the old city of Nice .Just outside the hotel is also the tram station. All front desk staffs are good ,well trained and very helpful. This is a nice small hotel but worth. The Wi-Fi of the hotel is good. The spread of their breakfast too is good although a little limited. Rooms are good and kept well. Bathroom needs to be improved. Air conditioning works very well. Just outside the hotel you find a lot of restaurants, shops and a utility store . A good place to stay. Would definitely recommend this place to others. There is a free pick up service by most of the tour operators.

Close to main shopping street and bars. Close to main train station. Clean basic rooms with tea making facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good choices of cold buffet although not much choice of hot items.

Standard hotel which has all the essentials, no more no less as can be expected of a 3 star city hotel. It's a place to sleep and as such it serves its purpose. It's conveniently close to the train station but still in walking distance of the old town.

Just at the east end of the Railway Station across the tram line - 5 minute walk. A nice little hotel on a quiet side street. The room was small (typical for France), but adequate. The bathroom was very spacious with a tub/shower combo. The front desk staff were very helpful. We bought a baguette at a small bakery around the corner the night before and skipped breakfast at the hotel (we had an 8:00 train). Bed was very comfortable.

The hotel was very close to the train station and many shops and supermarkets. However, it required to take the tram to get to the touristy places near the beach. I found this a bit inconvenient. The highly rated restaurants were also near the beach. The room was decent, with tall the necessary amenities. Other than the slight inconvenience of the location, I had a good stay.

The hotel is located just around the corner from the railway station and a relatively short walk from the corniche. Good location to explore the city,as well as a base for exploring the region by train. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff and fast checkin! Would definitely come back!

We stayed here while visiting Nice for 6 days and found the hotel to be clean comfortable and very conveniently placed for the main railway station, trams and buses. All of the staff that we met were very pleasant and helpful. Although the hotel is quite close to a main road and the railway line we were not disturbed by noise at all although we did have a room at the rear of the building.
