We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our visit to South France. The hotel is about 5 mins by walk from the train station. It is about 15-20 mins by walk to old town and beach The room itself is in very bad shape and in need of restoration. The carpets are very stained and I felt very uncomfortable walking on it with my care foot. The view from the room is the train tracks. Also the phone lines in my room did not work and when I complained to the front desk, the gentlemen just said OK we will look into it but nobody came during our stay to check it out The bathroom also need major restoration. The shower hardly worked and shower area itself is very small with shower curtain that does not protect the water from spilling to the rest of the bathroom. There is no counter space around the wash basin to keep you stuff The only good news was the price of the room. It was 80 euros for 2 nights which should be one of the cheapest for a location next to the train station. This is the only reason I give it 2 stars otherwise it would be 1 star.
Nice size room with a very comfy bed. Right in the heart of town and central to everything. We stayed as a group and had an included breakfast which was pretty average so ended up going out for breakfast instead.
The Hotel is at a great location . 300 meters to the Main Train station. There is a tram station near by the hotel just within 50 meters. Additionally the hotel is very close to the main shopping area( Piazza Messena and Rue Messena). Within 600 meters there is a shopping mall called "nicetoile" .There is construction going on in front of the hotel so might be quite dfficult to sleep in the nights or during the day.Despite all these positive advantages, the hotel service quality is very bad. In the room there is no bar/fridge. We found tea bags and nescafe bags in the room left on the table but there was no kettle:). The breakfast ( we went to the hotel by a group of people) was terrible for the group part . Only tea, cheese and ham and yogurt if you are lucky enough to catch one . The bathroom shower was not working properly. There are better alternatives in the same region i believe. Be careful before you stay.
The groups are treated as second class people even in the breakfasts in a second class saloon 😔. Only one elevator to serve to hundreds of people lets you spend time waiting for an elevator more than anything you do. No minibars, poor wi-fi. The best part may seem to be the location, if you don't spend time in a hotel other than taking a nap.
Positive: - clean, small but tidy - nice AC, room was already cool when checking in for the first time - Many good channels on TV - the location is EXELLENT. Right in the center, with the train station just on the other side. - a small supermarket right next to the hotel - you get to keep your luggage at the hotel without problems - good Wi-Fi - balcony, not really a good view but it was nice. The construction and the trains never bothered us though, during the night. Negative: - no extra cups or refills for the coffee or tea (you only get it once, upon arrival) - even though we had our sign out, the cleaning lady kept knocking on our door and disturbing us. - got a dirty towel after getting the room made up - only 1 elevator - construction right outside Overall I would recommend this hotel for its location. It is placed right next to the train station on the other side, and you have shops, bakerys and supermarkets right there. You are basically in the center, and you can do everything by foot, and if you prefer to take the tram it's just outside the hotel, around the corner. Also when going to the airport you can take either the bus or train which are just right there!
My partner and I stayed at Hotel Kyriad for 3 nights. We chose the hotel for it's decent price (AU$85 per night) and somewhat central location after seeing good reviews. As we knew, the hotel is by no means in the centre of the action in Nice ie close to the beach, Place Messena or the bustling old town. It is located at the end of Jean Medicin avenue (main street in Nice and main shopping area) right near the train station. It was about a 1.5km walk down the avenue to the beach and old town which we didn't mind but it may bother others. There is a tram stop right outside the hotel for those not willing to walk however we didn't use it. As with many areas around train stations it wasn't the nicest neighbourhood with a few odd characters hanging around outside the hotel however we didn't feel unsafe during our stay. The hotel lobby is nice and well presented. Our room was quite small and dated with a large bathroom (probably three-quarters the size of the room itself) and a small balcony overlooking the tram station. The carpet was disgusting with stains all over it, so I wore socks or shoes the whole time. The bathroom door did not close properly and was all chipped and dicintegrated. The shower was over the bath and did not have a screen so the water went all over the floor each time it was used. It also didn't drain properly. In terms of positives the bed was quite comfy and the doona was nice and soft. The wall/ceiling/floors are not sound proof and we heard distant voices and banging and crashing from all angles at all times of the day and night. There is also a bit of noise from the street and of course the train station but the double glazed glass doors did a decent job of blocking out this noise. It's probably a case of you get what you pay for, with Nice being an expensive city, however we usually stay at hotels of the standard when we travel and found it to be the most disappointing of our trip around Europe.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The room was great and the hotel was in a good location. My watched some South African sport in the room and that was great seeing as we are from South Africa and the hotel showed it on their TV. Breakfast was good.
We arrived here late at night - getting here was relatively easy off bus from airport and short walk from station or tram. Check in was quick and staff polite and helpful - even provided me with a plug adaptor when realised I forgot mine. Room on the 4th floor facing train station - this was a quiet well sized room with everything we needed within. Room had excellent air conditioning which kept the room cool. There was no noise from the busy street outside and would say the room was ideal. Bed was very comfortable. Only small issue was the shower head which was loose and would lower during showering. Breakfast was decent and set us up for the day (12 Euro each). Location - perfect for us as we were looking for a base to explore - 15 min walk to beach (2 mins by tram at 1 Euro 50). 2 Min walk to train station which is excellent for travelling across the region. Trams on doorstep and bus to airport outside. There are also a couple of small supermarkets next door. The main shopping street - you're pretty much on it. At check out we had a long wait for flights so we were able to leave bags in a store at the reception free of charge. All in all a perfect budget hotel in a good location we certainly didn't need any more, thanks to all at Kyriad.
This hotel is located near Nice Vile Station and close to the old city of Nice .Just outside the hotel is also the tram station. All front desk staffs are good ,well trained and very helpful. This is a nice small hotel but worth. The Wi-Fi of the hotel is good. The spread of their breakfast too is good although a little limited. Rooms are good and kept well. Bathroom needs to be improved. Air conditioning works very well. Just outside the hotel you find a lot of restaurants, shops and a utility store . A good place to stay. Would definitely recommend this place to others. There is a free pick up service by most of the tour operators.
Close to main shopping street and bars. Close to main train station. Clean basic rooms with tea making facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good choices of cold buffet although not much choice of hot items.
