Location is great.Beach is 800 meter from hotel and main shopping street 1km .Public transport is near the hotel. Room himself was very little but nice. From the window overlooks the mountains. 100 m is the food store. This great hotel if you want drive around and see sights and youse hotel room only for sleeping.
We stayed here for 3 nights and our triple room was not big enough for three adults. To dry yourself after a shower you had to be a contortionist and let's not go in to the fun we had trying to fit our suitcases in the room. The breakfast was dreadful and all the pastries were slightly stale. I recommend skipping the breakfast and walking a few doors down to the Workhouse cafe (best breakfast we had!) The rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful.
After my horrendous experience with Airbnb in Vieux Nice on July 11, I was graciously and more than welcomed by the staff at the Campanile Nice Centre Acropolis. The reception was professional, extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to assist me promptly after the Airbnb crisis and also with many other logistics associated with my work. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and located in a perfect spot in the heart of Nice.
Very happy with our stay in Nice the rooms were adequate with air con. Very central location. Bathrooms worked well, hot water continuous. Breakfast was basic but normal for European hotel stay - for our trip it was an extra of 9.95 euro. Very helpful and friendly staff who accommodated us well when we were asking asking questions
I spent in the Campanile 5 nights, the breakfast doesn't have variety of food & the room is very small actually the distance between the bed & the bathroom is your leg but the good is the staff was very friendly and i didn't take any kind transportation in the city because the hotel near to everything in the city
This is an extremely minimalistic hotel (you basically get what you pay for, or possibly even less). Some examples include: 1) no complimentary toiletries (just a soap dispensary which is also labeled as "body and hair soap" in the shower to serve multiple purposes) 2) no in room safe 3) zero storage options like drawers or cabinets 4) toilet paper rolls not refilled unless you have finished them 5) no hand towels, only 1 shower towel each 6) AC that doesn't cool beyond a certain point 7) no place to get basic drinking water (one day late night I was desperate for water and even the vending machine downstairs had a large sign that read "no water". When I asked the receptionist, he basically just said sorry. Overall, I would only recommend this hotel if you have very minimal expectations and aren't staying very long. A positive comment that I do have is the central location. Nothing else really was memorable in a positive way.
We stayed with a group in this hotel and realised that as a chain, the Campanile Hotels provide pretty good value for money. I had previously stayed in one in Paris on two occasions so knew of the general layout. The Nice Campanile is centrally located which is great in such a busy hub and meant that we could just walk out the door and head through the old part of town to the sea. We also were able to find good places to eat and our coach was able to pick us up and drop us off with ease. The room that I had was perfectly fine, tiny but well equipped and quiet as it was towards the back and not many rooms around it. Many of my students were placed in an annex that they had to walk outside onto a fake grass deck to reach their rooms. Some of the rooms smelt of smoke and there were masses of cigarette butts lying outside the windows. This stale smell was really off putting and I received many complaints about this. The rooms were also incredibly cramped and nothing was as slick or as clean feeling as the Paris Montparnasse Campanile. I think the hotel probably needs a good work over to bring it up to scratch. The breakfast room was fine and the breakfast quite standard but nothing special. We were asked for a sizeable security deposit on arrival eventhough we had paid for everything way in advance and were not notified about this. I stood my ground and we did not pay. Be aware that this seems to happen here. Overall I would say this is very average accommodation which is fine for one night but I certainly would not recommend it for any lengthy holiday stay.
On the plus side, the hotel has a pretty good location in the center of town. You take the 98 Bus from the NCE airport (6 Euros one way) and go to the last stop, Promenade de Arts, then walk straight forward about another 200 yards and there it is. The city tram to the train station (1.50 Euros) is on Place Garibaldi behind the hotel, about 200 yards again. Bus #100 to Monaco (1.50 Euros one way) leaves from the port, about a 1/2 Km walk. So it is really quite a convenient location. On the minus side, the rooms are TINY. You barely have 2-3 feet all around the bed to walk on and that's it. We were placed in a room directly above the hotel entrance and it was very noisy. Bedding was clean and the decor is minimal and relatively new. The biggest disappointment is that the hotel actually controls the room temperature under the guise of being environmentally-friendly. There is a sign in the elevator that A/C temp is set at 24C during the summer and at 18C during the winter. IT was HOT, HOT, HOT in the room. The "air-conditioning" basically felt like a fan circulating warm air. And if we left the window open, the traffic noise outside was unbearable and the flies from the garbage cans on the street came into the room. For the money we paid, it was not a good value at all. Don't advertise your hotel as having A/C in the room if you won't allow guests to control the temperature.
Staff spoke English and were very helpful, the rooms were clean and air conditioned (which was very useful in the 30+ degree days of June) and were cleaned and restocked with tea making supplies every day. Perfectly located and only a short walk from the town centre. We didn't book breakfast but had the option to have it each day and pay the excess at the end of the stay and that consisted of a buffet breakfast, all you can eat. The food was fine but the environment left something to be desired with the view being over a car park behind the hotel. Considering you can have a breakfast at a street cafe with a much nicer view at the amazing architecture of Nice for the same price (albeit not all you can eat) we didn't eat at the hotel much but it's perfectly acceptable. Value for money though is excellent and I would definitely stay here again
location great near to the city center, very very very small room, breakfast very basic without egges and vegy. staff very nice and try to help. one of them is a driver and can take to the airport = cost 35euro
