GPS on rental car could not find the only one way street to the hotel due to surrounding train construction fences. Professional staff, very good wifi, air conditioning and modern clean rooms. Mini fridge- business center was one computer with a broken printer. Very overpriced bar and restaurant. 10 minute walk to the beach. 5€ charge for ice.
We stayed 2 nights, which saved us. Problems started at the arrival - all my reservations mention that I would like to have a quiet room. Not only management disregarded this wish, or Marroitts policy of getting Platinum members best available room - we were put into the room next to the lift, without any view. If this is their best room then I pity other guests. Personally, was waken up several times by loud companies exiting the lift. Room design: I am fine when designers decide to use plastic roses instead of door handles. I absolutely detest when they remove door to the bathroom. Not everyone travels alone, people travel with children and not everyone is a voyeur. Same goes for the glass door into the toilet - they are always very poor in stopping noises and smells. Breakfast. One day it was ok, on Sunday service was absolutely terrible - trays stayed empty without replenishment, glasses keep disappearing and I ended up pouring coffee myself as it was impossible to attract someone's attention. For the smoked salmon I was told that it has ended and there is no more - "because it is Sunday". For the quoted price of EUR 30, very poor (i didn't pay as breakfast was complimentary). Wireless internet is free as it doesn't require any login information - perhaps because of that it was very slow. Although people to whom I raised issue of the noisy room with no view and people at the breakfast knew my room number, nothing was mentioned at the check-out. I am not returning - if I will need Marriott property I would rather stay at AC hotel or at JW Marriott in Cannes. Admittedly AC hotel is same price and JW Marriott is 2x more expensive. Last note: Boulevard Victor Hugo in front of hotel is closed for the installation of tram line. Once installed, that side of the hotel is going to become more noisy.
This Hotel is in the Heart of the city which makes it a perfect location to stay with family. The main shopping mall and restaurants are walking distance which is very convenient. The hotel has an amazing boutique feel with great friendly staff. The breakfast unfortunately is not great with most items finishing 1 hour before the end of breakfast and no refills.
The Boscolo Exedra in Nice - Absolutely Stunning!! This Chic Hotel offers you elegance, stunning contemporary decor, impeccable service and great Dining!! The most important thing about any hotel is cleanliness and this 'all-white' hotel is spotless. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by the charming front desk staff - who speak excellent English. Throughout our stay, we were constantly greeted with smiles and any request was given their full attention. If you are in need of suggestions regarding restaurants, sights, beaches and excursions, please ask them. All of their suggestions were 'right on the money'. Our hotel room was perfect and loaded with extra's such as; a selection of shampoos, bodywash and moisturizers, comfortable slippers, robes, water and mini bar. The large king bed was comfortable. The room was quiet and equipped with automatic blinds to control light. Everything was well thoughtout and well designed. The Spa and indoor pool were beautiful. Infact, the decor of the hotel was fresh, fun sleek contemporary. The hotel's La Pescheria Restaurant is a Must! Yes, Nice has excellent dining but this restaurant offers just as much if not more. The food was not only beautifully served but tasted better. The menu had enough variety to offer any palette and I am sure if you needed to modify, there would be no problem. The waiter service and manager were constantly supervising from a distance, engaging with customers and present to meet any need you might have. The Spa Bar was fun, especially seating outside. Numerous fun cocktails and another great menu offering delights. As is mentioned in other reviews, the city is going thru a redevelopment of subway system and there is construction in front of all the residences on most of the streets - but this did not intrude on our time spent here. During the day, there is construction noise but - you should be out exploring the sights that Nice and the surrounding villages has to offer. **** We travel a lot and own a travel business. Nice is a fun city but there are a lot of hotels that may have a beach front location to entice the patron and a price tag to go with it!! BEWARE! All is not what it appears to be. And most people, if given a second chance, would prefer to walk the coastline road than to stay on it. The Boscolo Exedra is located on Rue Victor Hugo - 10 minutes walk to coastline / beach via an assortment of chic fun shops. Rue Victor Hugo is a styish street adorned with beautiful French architecture from old to new. I highly recommend you give this hotel a chance - you will not be disappointed. The Boscolo Exedra exceeded our expectations on every level and will be staying there in the future!!
Almost everything going right - good spacious room, centrally located (2 mins to pedestrian zone with loads of restaurants and bars, 5-7 mins to old town, 5-7 mins to beach), excellent service across reception and valet.
We stayed one night and one full day while stopping in Nice between Paris and Barcelona. During this time we tried the restaurant, bar, beach package, and spa. The service was among the best we have seen at a five star hotel. The staff is extremely helpful and easily accommodated any requests we had. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and the welcoming attitude and attention to service extended to all the before-mentioned services we used. We were tempted to extend our stay another night but had plans to meet family in Barcelona. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel as the top grade service makes it well worth the short walk to the beach. I also found that being a couple blocks removed from the beach was preferred as it gave the hotel a quieter ambiance which was much appreciated after being surrounded by fellow tourists most days of our vacation.
My husband and I traveled here on vacation. I am a platinum Marriott member and did not get upgraded "because it is peak season" so be aware of that. The staff and the lobby were nice, but our room was below average. It was small and poorly laid out. Almost uncomfortable. The toilet is separated by a glass door. It is in a decent location, but they are building the new tram in front of the hotel, so there is lots of noise and construction. Would probably recommend staying at another hotel. We did try a great restaurant nearby called La Langouste!
We stayed two nights at this hotel with Grand Circle Travel before boarding our river cruise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is huge and has lots of history. It is near lots of shopping an restaurants and walking distance to the boardwalk and water. Their breakfast buffet in the mornings was excellent with a wide variety of items that catered to Americans. The bar at the top of the hotel offers a beautiful view of Nice so bring your camera up there. We had rose wine and a cheese platter and it was delicious and way too much cheese for 2 people. The rooms were of good size for France and had the standard two twin beds. Overall I think you would do well to stay at this hotel when visiting Nice.
Clean, modern and a great staff! It also has a great location. The hotel has a great service, the rooms are big and spacious. Another great thing is that is near of the main street and also very close to the beach.
If I could give a negative review I would. Do not stay here. LOOK AT THE PICTURES. THIS IS NOT WHAT THEY SHOW ON THE WEB SITE. RUN FROM THIS HOTEL They misrepresented the hotel. I called in to Marriott for the reservation a few times and spoke with the live Marriott reservations. They never told me the hotel is being impacted by major construction in front of the hotel. See the pictures. Marriott should be ashamed of this. The hotel said they sent an email. WOW. LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND VIDEO. This was an anniversary visit and it was ruined. I never would have stayed here if I knew this major construction has been ongoing and will be for along time. The front of hotel smells from the dumpsters. The loud jackhammers started early and the cranes were directly in front of the hotel. They have no defense and are charging far to much. We also experienced a strong smell of sewage inside the hotel on our floor and had numerous issues with the air conditioner. The bathroom had some mold and the tub was partially clogged. Room not maintained with simple bulb replacement. They charged for parking a car and the hotel is very difficult to access with the construction. You have to spend slot of time struggling to find the hotel. I called the GM at the hotel and still have not spoken with this person. They had an assistant speak with me. I was not satisfied I recommend any other hotel.
