The hotel is centrally located, close to the promenade. Our room was actually really big, probably the biggest I’ve ever stayed in. However, the interiors are dated, we had a wallpaper coming off the wall. I think the hotel could be great if it was renovated but at the moment it represents a poor value for money, given that for the £300 day rate you can get better in Nice.
A rather abrupt lady checked me in on arrival, and insisted on a national ID card, which as a British national I dont have of course. I provided my EU driving license and after having to remind the woman we are still part of the EU and as such this ID was perfectly acceptable she capitulated. Not the best start. The room was OK, bathroom had a nice selection of products, apparently of interest to ladies only (!!!) and we settled in for a relaxing afternoon. It became apparent that the AC wasnt working properly, it was not cold at all, and the AC volume seemed inconsistent with the size of the room. A lady from housekeeping attended to fiddle with the control pad, I informed the front desk I lived in Dubai and was very familiar with AC and it wasnt sufficient and just give me a fan and we will make do. A rude response told me they didnt have a fan, so I suggested they get one. A concierge then arrived and clean the clean filter...a call from front desk telling me again they didnt have the 20 Euro fan for the guest in the 600 Euro room and that the AC was working fine and I gave up. A sweaty sleepless night assures me Marriot hotels still dont get customer service at all and will see me avoid them wherever possible! Dont stay here, it is noisy, garbage collections, smashing bottles plus a building site currently too as the new tramway goes in. Rude staff showcase the lower end of French customer service too...
If you want a good sized room, air conditioning (that's effective), a spa, great housekeeping, friendly concierge & reception teams & a central location then this is the hotel for your stay. You can get cheaper hotels but I doubt anywhere will tick all of the above boxes. There are roadworks at the front of the hotel, it's been ongoing for 2-3years! The hotel will do what they can to accommodate your stay and make it as comfortable as possible as they did for us. We were not hindered. No roadworks over the weekend. Short walk to the beach front, excellent for shopping, plenty restaurants and brunch choices all nearby. Thanks for an enjoyable visit! (When going to the beach budget for paying for private beach access for a comfortable day)
First of all, do not use your GPs to find the hotel right now. The city is constructing more of the tram system so the street in front of the hotel is closed. The streets are a mess. Access the hotel from Rue Eugenie Immanuel and you will drive right up to the front. Be sure to ask for them to valet your car as there is little or no parking. The hotel is very modern and mostly decorated in white tones with splashes of color. The service and prices are top notch. That being the expectation , I was surprised to encounter one fairly rude staff member when I asked for a pillow. There was an apology the next day and a box of macaroons. Nicely handled. The beds are fairly uncomfortable but that varies from culture to culture. The rooms are spacious and again, modern and white. The bathroom comes with fancy lotions, etc. and otherwise, nicely appointed. I hated the shower which was part of a very deep bathtub and hard to get in and out of . The glass shower wall didn't extend far enough so the floor was flooded. During the construction, I would request a room on the backside of the hotel. It was noisy each morning beginning at 7:00AM right outside our window.
You first need to know there is construction all over the city's as they are putting in tram line - so it is likely wherever you end up, you're probably will not be able to avoid it - that being said, there was construction in front of the hotel. The hotel and staff have made a conscious effort to make sure their guest are taken care of of by placing them in the rooms away from the noise, placing earplugs next to the beds, and letting us know if we are distracted, that they will their best to make us comfortable. This is a beautiful boutique hotel and the rooms are elegant and clean. I would rate this hotel a 5 but unfortunately, the beds were extremely firm and the pillows were not soft, which made for a few uncomfortable night's sleep.
Splurged on Boscolo with Marriott points. Disappointed with the tiny room but location and convenience to train station, beach and town made up for it. We arrived by train and walked everywhere. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Did not eat or drink in hotel, as prices were higher than other nearby places. Everything was white, felt very sterile. Our room was over the the construction site and heard nothing the whole four days we were there. All-in-all, a pleasant visit but will probably stay somewhere else the next time. If there is a next time.
I stayed here recently during a short trip in to Nice. This is the second time that I have stayed here at this hotel. The location is great - close to shopping and tourist attractions. The city is still doing construction (they were also doing construction where I was there two years ago) in front of the hotel for the new tram, which I believe is almost done. The check-in process was quick and the receptionist and staff were all very friendly. The lobby is beautiful with all white furniture, fresh water with fruit and some cool sculptures. There is also a piano that you can hear from your room (if you are close enough) when someone is playing, which I had the pleasure of one afternoon. The rooms are decently sized and have some modern amenities, however the rooms (more specifically the bathrooms) are in need of an update. It feels dated with fixtures looking worn. Definitely not bad, but hopefully after the city finishes all the construction outside the hotel, the hotel can update. They have an awesome assortment of shampoos, body washes, etc to choose from, which is always a nice treat. As a heads up, the bed was exceptionally firm but with enough pillows you dont really notice it. The turn down service in the evening was lovely. Brunch in the morning is definitely worth the extra cost. They have a huge spread, with a variety of deli meats, fresh breads, yogurt, a huge selection of fruits and some American staples like scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage. The staff in the buffet area were on stop of cleanup and responsive if we had any needs. I would and will definitely stay here in the future despite all the construction and need of refurbishing. It really is a lovely hotel.
This was our second stay with this hotel. Inspired by great memories we decided to stop here again. What' good: exteriors and interiors - you cannot avoid selfie, consierge is helpful with car parking and reliable dining recommendation, friendly reception, clean rooms. What's not good: heavy construction next to the door, bar and terrace service.
We were there for the F1 race in Monaco. Location is great. Easy walk to retail, dining and the old town. The affiliated beach club was also nice. Rooms exactly as pictured on the web. Stayed in a Junior Suite. Nice set up with separate sitting area. Breakfast was average. Not bad, just not "5 star". Bar set up sort of odd as well. Large space without much seating. Would be nice to see the torn umbrellas outside repaired. Staff was helpfully- spa staff very nice. Also be aware that while there is a decent fitness center, it does not open until 9:00 - makes the morning workout hard. Overall a good stay
First of all we have to park our car on the street. The next morning, seems that someone (of the hotel) was doing photos of our car to promote the hotel in front of the facade, because is a sport car in it coudn´t get in into the parking, showing our number plate (?). We ask for that in the reception, and that man was the Manager (no comment), that upload the photos to a social network. The spa is tiny, the restaurant is expensive for the quality received (the fish and sea food weren´t fresh), the room is good even the bed, but that´s all. We cancelled the extra night and pay the charges and moved to Negresco. Not to repeat
