Carpets must've flooded recently because the lobby has that mildewy smell. The staff are obviously working very hard to satisfy the customers but they must be understaffed because food service and other services are slow. It took 45 minutes to get food on the table for our group last night, and the main restaurant was unavailable, but they did warn us that it would be slow. I think they have a massive tour group here that is training the resources.

Haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn for a while and I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly helpful staff, good standard of room, and decent food in the restaurant/bar, can't go wrong. Plenty of free parking too and free Internet. Any negatives? Actually none. If your travels take you up the M6 or to the Warrington area this is definitely worth a look.

As there is no visible evidence, I did not pay attention that the parking of the hotel Holliday inn in Haydock was not free. for 1hour 36mn, the hotel sent me a parking charge notice of 100 £ !! this is a scandal and for sure I will not pay 100£ for 1h 1/2 . For sure I will never book again in this hotel and I'll send a message to everybody in my company to inform about this bad experience. josé Lopez

I had some commitments in Newton Le Willows and this hotel was the ideal place to stay. Very pleasant and professional staff. Clean and spacious rooms. I have been here twice and I really enjoyed the service and I will definitely be back.

We spent 1 night here. A warm welcome at reception the young lady recognised we were club members and thanked us accordingly. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with a sofa bed set up for our son. The facilities at the pool were really good we enjoyed the steam room immensely! We didn't eat in the restaurant but did purchase drinks at the bar and again top service from the staff. Room was really quiet overnight and we all had a great sleep . Bathroom/shower fine. Breakfast was plentiful, hot, well cooked and served with a smile. We would definitely stay here again👍🏻 Only 1 small negative the stairwell/lift has a smell of damp which is a bit off putting but should be fixable as there's no odour anywhere else?

I had booked into the hotel, as i was working in nearby Newton-le-Willow hosting a Muay Thai fight night in the leisure centre there. I check in approximately 10.30pm, the lady on reception was very friendly, from a company perception, she effectively up sold me to take breakfast in the morning, and arranged for some room service even though the kitchen had technically closed, the bar staff were very happy to help with this also. There was a wedding going on in the main hall, a disco and loud drunk guests in reception area, however, this did not that effected anything really. I found the room to be of a good size, with everything you'd come to expect from a Holiday Inn chain hotel even if I'm never sure of the difference in their chain. The food was good and to the standard you would expect the breakfast a little less organised, their was a coach party and the aforementioned wedding party so perhaps the single or couples weren't best placed, and the room was very busy with the volume of guests, with a few things we had to wait on. However again the food was a good standard and a good choice of items. Check out was a breeze done and on the road before I knew it. In conclusion this hotel had a very personal touch, going outside of policy to provide room service and offering extras, if only this experience of a Holiday Inn was the norm.

Pleasant hotel with comfortable rooms, clean and adequate for a nights stay or so. An area outside for drinking weather allowing, roomy bar area and comfortable looking dining room. Evening meal above satisfactory.all in all not bad. Would of given 5 stars but room service breakfast on 25 July awful, rang down for milk for tea and coffee, Then again, butter for toast, both came quickly. No teaspoons for coffee/tea cold any way,no spoon to eat our fruit with. Never mind un trained staff maybe on that shift, don't get me wrong will be back.

Arrived around 7-00pm Sunday, check in was super. Not wanting to find anywhere to eat decided to eat in their restaurant. We ordered as a family with myself ordering a Bang Bang Chicken and salad, what came out was diced chicken in their sauce in Coucous and a few leaves of little Jem lettuce, for a cost of nearly £14 it was definitely not worth the money. The waitress could only apologize for the lack of salad, this was compensated with a free dessert, but when this came out this again was wrong. Breakfast was good, luckily included in our room cost, staff here were very helpful. The main reason we have scored this low is, we found a large coffee or tea stain on the bed mattress, for a hotel of this nature you would have thought they would have checked this before they asked people to stay. When we mentioned this to the staff they apologized but said someone would get back to us because of the low feedback, nothing as such, so dissatisfied with the first time at a Holiday Inn.

My son and I spent two nights in a twin-bedded room to be within relatively easy access of Birkdale for The Open. the hotel suited us fine. The drive to Birkdale was 24 miles about 50% on the M6/M58. The hotel met our requirements well - comfortable room, working free WiFi, comprehensive hot and cold buffet breakfast (crumbly scrambled egg but very good coffee) and surprising good, reasonably priced daily specials on the dinner menu - for example tempura oysters as a starter. We paid ~£180 for two nights b&b. The M6 jct23 roundabout is a bit of a nightmare. If leaving the hotel to head north, I recommend turning right from the hotel and using jct24.

Pleasant overnight stay en-route to Dover. Nice clean rooms with dinner and breakfast.Seemed to be a conference going on but this didn't impact any service. Staff all seemed to be very friendly and helpful.
