The Balboa Fun Zone is a short walk where you can easily find boat rentals, trips to Catalina, whale watching trips (though during their migration you can often see them from your balcony), charter a fishing trip, or take the kids to the old-fashioned arcade next to the Ferris Wheel.

The famous Balboa Island Ferry departs from the Fun Zone area every 10 minutes and takes you across Newport Bay to Balboa Island in a short 5 minute ferry ride where you will typically see sea lions, paddle boarders, kayaks, and luxury yachts.
