Came for the long Easter weekend and was forced to change accomodation on the last night . CONS: Bed was terrible , Shower is only good if your 5'8 , cannot sit straight on the toilet , Bedroom door we couldn't close (felt like it would come off its rails ) , Cards don't work on doors ( got cards reset daily ) , waters in fridge re filled and put back , no room for amenities in bathroom , $25 a night for car park , gym closed on public holidays , no pool towels , dirty bathroom walls , washing machine sounds like it's going to run away PROS: Reception were lovely and checked us in 30 min early , location , size of the apartment Bottom line is I will not be back. $850 for 3 night ands parking
Great service. Large, clean, comfortable rooms with lounge, kitchenette and balcony. Good location in the wharf area with a mixture of heritage and modern buildings and a good selection of cafe's and restaurants along the water front. Views from the rooms are average, but the service at reception is excellent. Underground on-site car parking is available. Late checkout at 11am is great for those on personal travel and there is no heavy traffic or street noise that will wake you early. I would gladly stay again.
Staff on arrival were lovely and very accommodating. The elevator and hall way walking to room stunk and smelt very musty. Room was okay, good size for a short stay but it was very dirty, dust around the garbage bin in kitchen as well as near bedside tables, the tracks of built in wardrobes were also unclean. Quite disappointing. To make matters worse, it was a cold rainy night so my partner when to retrieve the blanket from the built in wardrobe in the bedroom. To our horror on removing the blanket from the cupboard there was a large pair of DIRTY woman's underwear that fell from under the blanket. We were both disgusted and on telling reception I was handed a garbage bag and told to put them in that, Yuck!! Extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend to others.
Stayed 18/03/17, room was great, very clean. Very roomy with all the creature comforts Excellent location for a night out in the Honeysuckle precinct. Definitely stay again. Have looked at this hotel each time we have been in to Honeysuckle and often wondered what it would be like. Did not disappoint.
I recenty stayed here with a group of friends and the whole experience was perfect and could not be faulted. The customer service leading up to and during our stay was amazing. The staff were all so friendly and accomodating every time i spoke to them and went out of their way to ensure my check in was as early as possible so i could get some things set up. The room was spacious and had good amenities and the view from the large balcony overlooking the harbour was beautiful. Highly recommend the chifley
I loved it! The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and proficient in their jobs. I only had interactions with them on check in and checkout (and breakfast time), but I've stayed at a lot of hotels and was really impressed with their service. Well done to the team trainers! Sorry, I don't recall the ladie's names. The hotel is in a great location, a very short walk up to the Foreshore, where you find loads of restaurants and bars. I hired one of the bikes and rode up to the beach (only 5 mins away). The apartments are spacious, clean, self contained and large enough if you have family members travelling with you. There is a breakfast cafe onsite for a quick takeaway (good) coffee and you can also purchase drinks etc... Great stay! I'll be back and I'll probably take the family next time. my ONLY gripe would be, like most of the hotels in the area is the parking fee. I've stayed at a few and this it pretty much the norm. Although, chifley does have street parking right out the front which is free overnight, just be sure to move quick smart in the morning as the ticket man will get you. :)
We like: Windows that open, a deck even better, space to move and a sofa is king. The Chifley delivers on all counts. Plus: great beds, close to all you need. East side rooms overlook a courtyard, the pool and a vineyard. West rooms overlook a vacant block and water glimpses. Surfers & beach goers will want the other side of town but this was perfect for our purposes: overnight, a feed, a good bed. More than adequate for a longer stay too. No complaints
45c in Newcastle the day we arrived for a football game that was postponed The friendliness and efficiency of the reception staff were incredible, all the girls were a delight Rooms were comfortable and fortunately the air con was on especially when 45c outside The apartment was a nice comfortable size, not too small functional and clean Location honeysuckle drive is where it all at Overall except for the $25 parking which is a bit rich out stay was great
