I had to travel to Australia for work in June. Although it was winter in AUS it was quite beautiful. The apartment was in a great location with only steps to the CBD and the waterfront. There were many choices for places to eat or to grab a drink. The highlight for me was the whale watching charter that is docked just a few steps from the apartment. I was able to take a whale watching tour over one of the weekend and it was amazing!!!!
Location is excellent and rooms were clean and comfortable. My stay was an extended weekend with a business follow on. Everything was acceptable for both personal and business stay. I did not use the gym however someone made the comment there was a minor problem gaining access.
Pool was very cold, I would say around 22-23degrees. Very poor for a place that advertises heated pool l. We were looking forward to using the pool for our family but it was too cold. Apartment was also not that clean. We were in 3 bedroom apartment which still had confetti everywhere from the previous guests and the fridge had a pile of dust on top of it that clearly had not been wiped in weeks.
Great location and amenities rooms clean and comfortable staff very friendly and helpful parking was easy to access rooms are very quite with good sized bathrooms and living areas washing and cooking facilities also good
I was charged an $800 pending fee on my arrival (the cost of the room 600 plus 2 x security fees of 100) and at the end of our 2 day stay I was charged $650 (600 for room as well as parking). I have no problem being charged the $650 but highly object to $800 on my arrival as well! Staff unhelpful also when this was pointed out. Hotels will generally charge the room fee out of the pending fee but not charge both. Terrible practise - Room 603 on 23rd and 24th april. The person I was travelling with was also not happy with how she was charged for her room.
Wonderful staff in particular. Dvd player wasnt hooked up but cleaning staff may have accidentally pulled cable. Sorted it myself rather than ring. Spacious. Clean. Good location. Ill probably return next im in town.
We initially booked - through Airbnb a person called Tony - and paid for an apartment in another location which they confirmed. The next day I received a phone call from Honeysuckle Executive Apartments to say that the apartment was not available and they had moved us to a much better location, Chifley Apartments, and would not charge us any extra. I questioned the location and the layout, 2 bedrooms - 1 King and 2 x singles and all was confirmed. When we checked into Executive Apartment 703, we found that it was 2 x queen beds, not the king and 2 x singles as requested, one bedroom door (sliding glass) would not open or close, only remained in a half open position and this bedroom was right off the lounge room, so noisy. There was a wall of floor to ceiling vertical blinds onto the balcony which would not move - they could not be opened or swivelled at all (during our stay we found out that the blinds had been broken for the past 6 months and after many complaints still weren't fixed). The balcony door once opened could not be relocked (Tony said "well it doesn't matter, you're on the 7th floor", but we had a child with us .... We went back down to reception, they said they couldn't do anything about the issues as they didn't manage the apartment - Tony from Honeysuckle Executive Apartments did, we phoned Tony and were told that he could do nothing about our issues, he gave us two other apartments to look at, neither of these were suitable - one very small and the other was dirty and in need of refurbishment. So being a Sunday evening we had no other option than to accept the apartment - which we found out should have been cheaper than the original one we had booked and paid for. We had booked for 5 nights - during that time no housekeeping was done, no towels were replaced, no toilet paper, no bins emptied. All in all a very disappointing experience - we would never stay here again. We were never offered any compensation or apology in any way.
Nice hotel, convenient location, opposite to NewSpace, private parking, 15 minutes drive to University of Newcastle's main campus at Callaghan, also very close to restaurants at the harbour front, overall good
The aircon was a little noisy had to turn if off, the room could have been cleaner very dusty, nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom The area and location was great close to harbour, great restaurants, the beach
Breakfast options need to be better to accommodate gluten and dairy free intolerance as there was no choices for that. They gym needs an update and more equipment for hotel guests as the gym is owned by a other PT and he uses the whole gym for his training.
