Hilton Noumea La Promenade Residences

Hilton usually means a good hotel. This one falls well short. Rooms are ok, but restauarnt was average and expensive. No bar to speak of. Like most of Noumea it is tired. Noumea is not cheap. There is not even an ATM in the hotel. Service is slow and not very good. There is no gazetted airport transfer and that has to be booked, .

We had a 3 bed apartment for a week, and were really comfortable here. Great location with beautiful views overlooking the sea, with shops, restaurants and patisseries all very close by. Staff were friendly and helpful, and although the pool was quite small, it was clean. We just used the free wifi, and that was fine for emails - not so good for internet searches - but that just means you have to go and ask someone instead 😄. Apartment was well equipped and we cooked a couple of nights. Lunchtime on the balcony was lovely - with French breads, cheeses and salad. Internal laundry was also really useful. I don't think the hotel was very full when we stayed, so it was quiet most of the time, despite being NZ school holidays. We enjoyed hiring a car for a few days and exploring the island a bit. Wonderful holiday speaking lots of French. Some people did speak some English, but were delighted if you could speak French.

This place is great! Everything is on your doorstep without the controlled feeling of a resort complex. The rooms overlook the crystal clear blue waters of Anse Vata beach which is great for a dip but if the wind picks up you can take a short stroll to bae de citron. The water taxi to isle de canard is a few hundred metres away and the local buses stop right outside and will take you into the city with ease. The aquarium - which is really good - is also a five minute walk away. We really loved our self contained apartment - a fresh baguette from around the corner was quickly turned into a fresh and tasty lunch for sitting on your balcony or a picnic by the beach. There were great restaurants nearby but we couldn’t resist the fresh seafood at the town market which became our home cooked meal on one night of our stay Ok the pool is on the small side but was never packed and our 7yo had a ball and anyway with the beaches so calm and inviting who needs a big resort style pool ?

We spent the first week of our noumea visit in 3 star. The next week here in 4 star. In king studio, full kitchen, laundry, a/c, daily service, lagoon view on 6th floor or 7 floor building ‘banyan’ tower. This is ideal for the lagoon view, which we enjoyed from the large patio with sun lounges and table for dining. From breakfast, till sundown, an ever changing vista on the waterfront at Anse Vata. The wifi free and we ran our business on the laptop with no problem. Daily service, lovely friendly ladies, we felt spoiled! With 3 alimentary stores within a block and 5 mins drive to larger supermarkets, self catering was easy. We drank the tap water and the groceries were excellent standard. Quite a saving. We will definitely return to Hilton Noumea.

Although Hotel Hilton in Anse Vata is a little old and dated it is perfectly located, spacious (full kitchen and internal laundry, outdoor deckchairs and outdoor dining setting). All rooms face the beach and reception staff are very helpful and speak very good English.

We stayed here as a family of 5 in a 3 bedroom apartment overlooking Anse Vata Bay. Beautiful view and sunsets. These apartments are fully self contained with full kitchen and laundry but also with daily service. The apartment was recently done up and very spacious for us. Pool/beach towels provided at reception. Internet not great for us. Central location - restaurants, bakeries, juice bars at your doorstep. Didn’t try hotel restaurant as menu didn’t grab us. The staff are delightful. Reception fluent in English. There is a tour desk. To stock up on supplies there is a convenience store a 5 minute walk away or a large supermarket further away (it’s a 12 min downhill walk on the return trip) Apart from patchy internet, can’t really fault this place for what it is.

Terrible staff service at the restaurant. Eat out if you have to stay there! Rude staff that do not acknowledge you and are incredibly condescending! Would not let us finish speaking and were not interested at all in what we wanted. So sad Hilton! So sad!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment with Ocean views that had a full kitchen. Friendly staff and good central location (special thanks to reception staff Justine for being very helpful). We had buffet breakfast included in the package which was good but food items did not change at all over the 5 days, they do fresh omelettes and eggs on request. Hotel has one outdoor pool which doesn’t get much sun and is not heated - good thing beach is just across the road. There are few restaurants below the main building but be mindful some don’t open everyday. We enjoyed the stay in the spacious apartment with a beautiful view of ocean.

Great location and excellent outlook from rooms. Good facilities and rooms tidy if a little dated but does not detract from a what is still a very good hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wait staff in the restaurant were excellent.

Good size rooms with fantastic views. Had a very good much needed break. In a good location with easy access to shops and beach. Walking distance to many things and good bus service nearby. We enjoyed being able to self cater and was easy to spend time in our very large room taking in the stunning views.
