We spent a pleasant week at the Hilton Noumea. Our one bed apartment was spacious and comfortable, immaculately clean and serviced daily. Our view over the beach was very beautiful and the food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was delicious.Serving staff were charming and reception helpful but some were limited in English. The downside, our bathroom sink leaked and our neighbours smoked on their balcony continually which meant we could not sit out and enjoy the lovely view without being engulfed by smoke. This was a great place for a couples visit, many lovely restaurants, places to visit and even a small train to show you around Noumea ,just a short walk from the hotel. Not such a great place for young families as food is very expensive but as the hotel had good kitchen facilities, shopping at the supermarket or markets and cooking for the family would probably be the way to go.There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel which takes you from the hotel into central Noumea and the outstanding markets. We had a couple of superb meals locally, loved the cleanliness and ambience of Noumea and will return to this quite upmarket destination!
Apartment clean and adequate Reception Service is by far the worst I have experienced at a Hilton hotel . No concierge and even when you find someone who speaks a little English with the exception of Jeremy they appear to have no knowledge of the area or want to waste their important time This flows through to the dining staff After spending many Januarys at Sheraton Fiji, we decided to give Noumea a try. Le Meridean booked out so went to Hilton. Poor decision Looks like back to fiji
Recently stayed 6 nights to celebrate our 50th. We took a one bedroom deluxe apartment and couldn’t have had a better room or position. We were in the middle of the 7th floor in C block- apt was in very good condition, extremely clean, well serviced with sufficient modern appliances- all in working order. We were greeted with a bottle of wine in our room- a much appreciated gesture! The staff we encountered, at every level, were welcoming and most efficient at their jobs. The hotel is in a central position - handy to the beaches, supermarkets and many and varied restaurants. It’s very easy to self cater as the variety and quality of the produce available is first class- and so French, We’ll be back- hopefully before our 51st!!
We stayed at Hilton-La Promenade for a week and enjoyed every minute of it.Close to both major beaches:Anse Vata and Baie aux Citrons as well as the water taxi to Ile aux Canards. We enjoyed the cooking facilities to prepare delicious dinners with fresh local veggies and seafood bought at the municipal market.
There are only a couple of decent hotels in Noumea & this is one of them. Not new by any means but well maintained & well run serviced appartments. Great location in the centre of Anse Vata overlooking the lagoon & nearby islands. Home away from home for us
We stayed in a three bedroom apartment. It was spacious, clean with a nice view. Very helpful staff. Very close to the restaurants, shops and beach. The only downfall is their breakfast. It’s below average and doesn’t worth the price!
Great views, attentive staff, spacious apartment, close to shops, cafes and restaurants. Most people were bilingual which made up for our lack of French proficiency. We enjoyed our stay. La Terrasse restaurant was enjoyable and the service was excellent.
Overall a pretty good place to stay. Large, comfortable apartment, well equipped, convenient location, great view of the bay. Smallish but good pool that was perfect for the children (6 and 4). Lovely staff. WiFi was reasonably priced at about AUS$50 for a week. Downsides? Apartment could have been cleaner (lots of long dark hairs around, presumably from the cleaning staff, and a few stains on walls or surfaces in the bathroom that should have been washed away. Also, while the cost of the apartment on Expedia was comparable to what we'd expected to stay, Noumea was surprisingly expensive day-to-day. This was reflected at The Hilton; the breakfast buffet was about AUS$50 per adult, and when we planned to go out for dinner and leave the kids with a babysitter in the hotel we were again quoted about AUS$50/hour. Not cheap!
It was nice being in L’ansa Vata, handy for beaches, bars and restaurants, walking distance to aquarium and lemon bay. We walked in to the city centre but I would suggest a bus or taxi as it’s not a nice walk, the footpaths are pretty unsafe. We had a two bed apartment, the best part was the view and the size- really spacious. But it wasn’t particular clean on arrival- lots of dust on fixtures and fittings, and shower gel marks on the tiles in the bathroom. Also the kids’ beds were on wheels, which you couldn’t lock, so every time we went to sit down they shot across the room! Staff were friendly and spoke good English, restaurant and babysitting service were farcically expensive.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Pros: excellent location on main beach, convenient to shops and walking, many rooms have bay views. Cons: my room A206 is dated with many elements not working, it is an apartment, I did not get maid service, breakfast is rather weak with average food quality, gym small. You have to go outside to reach many rooms.
