Elysee Cave Hotel REALLY is not a cave. Avoid this place at all costs, they lie and the room is different than the photos pictured. I booked this thinking that I would be staying in a cave hotel. It is a Hotel inside a building and not a cave. I was supposed to get a bottle of wine for free upon check-in and I did not. The manager, Sadat was very pushy about trying to sell a balloon tour for $220 which I ended up getting for $180. They texted me several times and upon checking in as I was exhausted from a 12 hour bus ride so I didn’t want to be asked about that right then. I wanted my bottle of wine to relax in my room with my bottle of wine that I was promised when booking the room. there’s no air conditioner or a simple fan in my room and there’s also no ventilation. I had to open up the window and deal with bugs flying in. The internet was like 1990’s 56k and didn’t work at all in my room. there’s mold in the bathroom The breakfast was supposed to be served at 8 o’clock in the morning it was not. The milk was not cold but Luke warm and a little sour, I had diarrhea and stomach pains throughout the day. It was served at 8:30 and annoyed a couple of other tourists there was other may be 12 other people that weren’t happy. Some people like myself have plans and time is crucial. On my second day to stay they weren’t even open at 8:30 in the morning and I had to leave, without an apology or my wine. it was just a horrible situation

Love the hotel. It had a great set up and also buffet breakfast was included which was amazing. View of the balloons over The Valley was beautiful and the staff was great and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
The picture shows a better hotel than what it really is It is partially a cave hotel and they sell it as a Real cave hotel Cleaned is terrible you just have to look under the beds tu see they don’t clean often

Hello anonymous guest, Thank you for your time to write review. Firstly, we are not agree on difference between photos and reality of the hotel. Probably you have stayed in winter time and expecting with full of flowers and colourful trees as it is on summer photes. There is no term like ''real cave hotel''. All hotels has cave and stone rooms as our hotel do. Also the cleaning is our major service to take care of but i will not be pertinacious on your point because it may be happened in very busy days that our house keeping staff miss to look under the bed once. We also rarely do mistake. You should not hesitate and immediately worn us to clean again. We always try to give you the best service. Best regards
Dear John, it's important to check the photos for the room category while booking. Most probably you'd looked at photos of Boutique rooms and booked a Budget room instead. It's true that economic rooms aren't the most comfortable, but they are always clean and taken care of. What's more, if an upgrade for the room had been possible, we would have definitely done that. If you compare prices of economic and boutique rooms, you most definitely will get an idea of how different they can be. More importantly, we have stone rooms and cave rooms. Our cave rooms are in the category of our Boutique Rooms. If you really want to experience staying in a cave room, you need to book a Boutique Room.As for the balloon ride, we never texted you several times! You said you might be interested in it and we sent you information about it! We want to help make your stay memorable as much as we can and this shows we care about you! You can probably get a balloon ride for any price here, there are hundreds of agencies, but we told you the price that we are offered, with a really nice and well experienced company. All we did when texting you was because we wanted to be as much available to you as possible.The wine that you get as a VIP guest is not something we hand you upon arrival, we normally put it in the room, or sometimes give it to you upstairs on the terrace, because we want you to enjoy the terrace view while having your wine. In all cases, this is not such a big deal, I don't see why you decide to avoid face to face talking about things and let things bottle up in you and then burst out like this. Supposing we had forgotten to put the wine in the room, we definitely didn't do it on purpose. All would have been solved by a little bit of flexibility! Like how flexible we were with your late check in or the payment on the next day. Some things can really be solved by talking. Cave hotels in Goreme don't have AC. Maybe only a few super luxury hotel are equipped with ACs.If you had asked for a fan, we would have given it to you. You should know that the material used in the rooms is cave stone and it has a natural way of keeping cool inside in the heat of Summer.Breakfast is from 08:30 to 10:30 in our hotel and we always tell our guests about it. What is written on the cards in the rooms is for a long time ago.
