Very nice clean and tidy Hotel. Staff very accommodating. Clean pool with Braai facilities! Right opposite the mall with easy access to all shops. Rooms we'll kept spacious, lots of parking space on site.
Well located and exactly opposite Ilanga Shopping Mall, and it is a family-friendly hotel, well-equipped with all a family requires for self-catering, although it has option for a la Carte dining during breakfast and supper. The initial 2 bedroom allocated to us had built-in cupboards with loosened door handles in one of the 2 rooms, and the staff promptly changed us to another available unit. Check-in and check-out were both very efficiently done, and we had a comfortable stay here as the rooms and beddings, including the towels/toiletries were spotlessly clean. All self-catering utensils were working and spotlessly clean. Sleep quality was good, despite the freeway being closeby, and the staff were pleasant and ready to assist.Particularly useful was the mall that was just opposite hotel gate, and petrol garages nearby.
I like staying at the Mercure Nelspruit, because it is conveniently located across the street to Ilanga shopping mall and need all the places I need to be in Nelspruit. Besides the price is very competitive in relation to other hotels and guest houses in the city.
We stayed for 3 nights. The reception area is great and the staff were friendly. Plenty of parking right next to rooms- like a motel really. The apartment was large but in need of renovation. There was a kitchen but not enough equipment to cook. For example an oven but no ovenproof dishes. We did prepare salads and use microwave and they brought the extra cutlery we requested. It was quiet at night but next to a huge shopping centre still being extended so very noisy in the day. Having the shopping centre there was very handy when you have just arrived in South Africa. The water was off due to a problem off the complex for a few hours. Ideal for what we needed.
I have visited this hotel several times and always hoped that my bad experience was an exception. Unfortunately, I can only note consistency in the poor performance. The property is well located, next door to the attractive Ilanga Mall. It offers safe parking and very large rooms with a kitchen that are very convenient for families or group of friends. If the kitchens are modern and fully equipped, the bathrooms are all in need of refurbishing. And the major problem with all the rooms that I have rented is the A/C! Either too cold and directed directly at one of the beds, or not cold enough and totally useless during the very hot summer days and nights. I have again spent a sleepless night in February 2017 because of that problem. The Wifi, or lack thereof, is also unfortunate in such a famous international hotel.
its cheap big tick its big another tick its old, tired and needs revamping big ticks no wifi in room, hardly any tv channels and none worth watching must have got the cheapest dstv package available pool was lovely only they put us so far away from it we had to take the car there and back, have no idea why they didnt put us near the pool, i clearly had a walking problem as i came in with a walking stick and still they put us in the corner of the furthest away room and im not exaggerating, it was the furthest away. i must have upset them. wouldnt recommend this hotel, air con didnt work properly, sweat like a pig in bed only the lounge was cool. and the shower only had a trickle of water it was horrendous. couldnt have a bath due to my leg injury so had to put up with it. 4 nights of misery i dont know how i lasted so long
service was wonderful, staff were helpful and friendly. rooms were ok, could do with an upgrade on the bathroom and kitchenette. cleaning services can be improved.Breakfast is super expensive! The pool side furniture really need to be cleaned!Overall good for a short stay
I stayed 1 night before going to Baadplas, the check was fine, security good, the rooms are spacious. I would like to suggest investing in renovating the pool to use at night time. The aircons as always are not good and the location are on the side of the beds. Thank you
What a shame as the hotel location is amazing but the actual facilities are disgusting. The reception takes forever to check 1 individual in. The restaurant had 1 unfriendly, unprofessional waiter, he was dismissive to me personally, waited for 20 minutes before he could take the order, when reminded him to take our order he abruptly responded. He refused to take the drinks order before the food, said to my face blatantly. Kitchen door really disgusting - see picture. Rooms untidy, shower does not hold you have to hold in your hand as the head keeps turning. Worst experience ever. Never coming back.
I cannot even find a right word about describe my frustration. First photo taken at the restaurant (kitchen door!), so use your imagination about the room but let me help you out with that. I think the last time they washed the carpet was in 2010. You can smell the dust, see some marks on it. Shower was gross ( I had to put towel on the floor in order to avoid step barefoot on surface) bathroom was full with small insects. Etc it's a terrible hotel, don't fool to Accor hotel group member.
