Grand Mercure Nelson Monaco Apartments

Rooms are neat and tidy with traditional decor but lends itself to a cozy, warm and comfortable space. The two-tier apartment-style room is well laid out and facilities in the kitchen including a washer/dryer, makes for easy domestic chores. The gym is fairly well-equipped however more cardio equipment would be beneficial as there is one treadmill and bike. Space, free weights, weights machine and benches provide good opportunity for various exercises. The pool is nicely done and the layout of the cottages lined up next to each other reflects beautiful old towns in regions from Europe.

Lovely accommodation, charming and quite olde-worldey but well appointed, clean and modern at the same time. A double storey "two-up, two-down" layout, with both bedrooms having an openable window and an ensuite with toilet, shower and basin. The row of apartments looked like an old English paved street with street lamps, vines crawling up the brickwork and heavy wooden doors. We had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer in the kitchen and a small gym which was quite well-equipped. Super comfy couch too. Reception was very friendly and helpful and even delivered a jug of milk to our room for a late night cuppa! And to top it off, the Monaco Kitchen restaurant onsite was a great little find, highly recommended.

Set out like a Cotswold village the rooms were lovely and the gardens well groomed. When I asked for the roll away to be mended and assistance with the TV tuning nothing happened which was really disappointing.

Lovely hotel and apartments with a lovely old world where you feel your felt free to walk thru the village. Grandchildren loved the village green and pool. Beds were comfortable and the team obliging.

Great recreation of English village adding to the enjoyment. Need a vehicle to go into town but a good pub across the road called the honest lawyer. Very relaxing and a good restaurant on site or pub food across the road

Rooms are clean and spacious and staff are very accomodating. Good facilities available to guests. Good motel for families to stay at the kids loved the pool. Would advise getting a room with patio and the twin bathrooms.

just stayed for 1night and had a cuppa and cold drink in the afternoon on dec 25th as they didnt allow alcohol. we had brekkie on dec26th which was great.Food and the staff were accomodating and friendly.

We stayed here for two nights with two young kids. When we arrived I was so impressed and happy with our choice of accommodation. The cottages are really lovely, wonderful layout and decour, and have all the amenities. After the first night we went out the next morning at 8am (young kids!) and left the 'please make up my room' sign on the front door. After a full day out and with two exhausted, dirty (from the beach) and hungry kids, we arrived back at 4pm to find that the sign was still on our front door and that they hadn't bothered to clean it yet. It was so disappointing as we had planned to put the kids straight in the shower, cook them dinner and finally chill out. We contacted reception who said that housekeeping was busy and that they would be straight there. So we waited... 30 minutes later housekeeping still hadn't arrived. I hadn't showered the girls yet because we didn't have clean towels and I didn't want to be half way through sorting them when the cleaners arrived. So I went to reception and asked again for them to please sort out the room. I was told that they clean the rooms for the new arrivals first and had been busy and would come soon. So clearly the 'please make up my room' signs mean nothing here, because they clean cottage by cottage in rows. Our room was not cleaned until after 5pm! 9 hours after it could have taken place. So disappointing and it really put a downer on our day, as anyone with young kids would understand. I would have given this accommodation the top rating but the housekeeping issue is clearly a problem as I saw them still cleaning other accommodation of people who were staying multiple nights at 6pm. They need more housekeeping staff and a better system. A shame to let down what would otherwise be really nice stay because they can't get their act together to prioritise customers who are staying more than one night. Our experience puts me off staying here again or recommending it to others.

I love the uniqueness of this property and it has been well maintained and the gardens are fabulous in the summer months. It is easy to settle in and then dine at the restaurant on site. Tommy is a wonderful Restaurant Manager and he is so welcoming and cheerful. Ashley, goes beyond the call of duty to make sure guests are satisfied with their meals. A great dining experience. Bev

I stay in quite a few hotels each week and this hotel is by far amazing! Whenever I come here I am always greeted with a massive smile and your staff are always going that extra mile. Also Tommy who works in your restaurant has the most incredible service and he knows how to create a great atmosphere and great knowledge of the menu! Well done team 😊
