Stayed 2 nights. Extremely warm and helpful welcome after a long drive in the rain from the West Coast. 400m walk to variety of good restaurants in the town centre. Kitchenette is modern and well appointed. Bathroom is top class with Grohe shower over spa bath, heated towel rail, which has been missing from last few stops. Slept well in the sep bedroom. 2 flat screen TVs with Sky. Good wifi. Only comment is that car park is a bit on the tight side. A large car could be a problem.

Friday visit in early April, pre booked. Great welcome and we were given one of the upstairs rooms. Probably the best of the Motels we stayed on over the two weeks, bathroom and bedroom as separate rooms, corner bath, really nice lounge chairs.

Very nicely decorated rooms. The owners are very helpful with things to do and travelling times. Good cooking facilities in the very comfortable room. The motel is close enough to walk to the centre. Some other motels close by and also some used car garages but a good enough neighbourhood.

We had two nights here. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk into town on a busy road. We had a ground floor room with a small patio. I felt the main room lighting was a bit gloomy and needed to be brighter. The wifi slowed down and lost signal in the evening when the motel was full; it was stronger in the morning.

We spent just one night at this very efficient and well-managed motel. The location is great for walking to town for lunch or dinner. The unit, while small, had everything we needed --- a nice shower, a king-sized bed, a little patio outside the room with a pretty garden around it (ground floor is best here, I think). Free parking, free wifi, and the owners were very helpful with trip planning and restaurant advice (they happened to have a coupon we were able to use for lunch). Only downside is that it is on a busy street, near a couple of car dealerships --- but that’s not much of a problem, no noise.

I just love these light airy motel rooms. I'm just so sick of dated dark and dingy. Please if you're going to rent rooms, don't furnish with nasty old style. This was a normal motel style room but just attention to cleanliness and decor did it for me. Asked for a quiet room and it was. Nice little verandah. Short walk to restaurants. The wifi was "ok". Shower could be a problem for larger people. My only real complaint would be that I paid upfront 10 months in advance for 1 night.

Excellent choice for our first visit to Nelson. Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy. Lee and Barry were very friendly and accommodating. The location was an easy walk away from the CBD. Nelson is a very nice place to visit in New Zealand. Highly recommended.

It almost seems unfair to review this place and do it justice as we didn't arrive until just before 8:30pm and left again by 9 the next morning. Having said that, the service was very friendly and our room was everything we could hope for. The beds were very comfy, we had TVs with good coverage of channels and we were centrally located enough to walk into town and have a late dinner. It is a great place to stay if you are on your way through Nelson. We really liked the room and the customer service and would happily stay there again.

The best part of our stay was when the motel cat paid us a visit by coming into our room for scratches behind his ears! Being animal, lovers this was great :) The room was clean and adequate with a lovely bed (the headboard is a nice touch). Our room was fairly priced and had very good wifi that we obviously utilised; thank you very much. The only negative is the parking area... I had a large ute and the only way in and out were 6-point turns.

The suite was more than adequate and the big jacuzzi tub a bonus. What made this a great stay was the service. Lee was there at 7am to help get us on our tour to Abel Tasman! We felt well cared for - and this at a motel. There are other places in Nelson that are closer walking distance to the restaurants. Chelsea Park motor lodge is on a fairly busy street (though we had no noise issue at all) so be prepared to walk down a street of zooming cars before reaching the heart of town. Aside from this I would have given 5 stars!
