Rooms are very small. Double is okay for one, but really too small for two. They only clean the rooms every 3 days, otherwise you leave your garbage and towels outside your door before 10 am. My bathroom had mold between the tiles in the bathroom. Staff was excellent and lovely. Breakfast was okay.

I was having breathing problems at night and once i switch off the Aircon and open the windows everything is okay or i have to keep the Air purifier run all night. I stayed in a hotel near Smile hotel with similar room rent but far better rooms.

The breakfast buffet was terrible, and the closing time is 9:30am but they stopped putting out food 30 minutes before closing. If you come out late you get white rice and a cup of coffee, also they don’t offer coffee or tea in the room for guests.

Budget friendly, comfortable, well located hotel.

Practical accommodation close to the station and public transport. Good value. Nice breakfast with lots of variety on the buffet. Another guest smoked on our floor -the bad smell lingered a while. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay.

It’s worth for a short stay

I didn’t expect the place to be kinda old but it was decent for the price I paid. Also, when you go to the smoking floor to do laundry, you can tell it’s the smoking floor.

The room itself is a bit misleading, its a small rectangular shape room with no aircon so you need to open the window but not too wide since it is too windy the window spoil, so you will be in the dilema, to open or not to open. The staff are great and friendly. The location is very near the nara train and bus station approx 5-6 minutes walk. It is also a walkable distance of around 20-30 mins to Nara park and Todaiji temple while strolling along shopping street to buy souvenir. There’s also a lot of friendly Nara citizen ambassador along the bus station readily to help you anytime.
